AKG K371 Review

The AKG N700NC M2 Wireless headphones are a lot better for rough use outdoors, as they have a much better build quality compared to the AKG K371. The AKG N700NC M2 Wireless also features active noise canceling to block ambient sound, but the AKG K371 only blocks sound passively with its closed-back design. In addition, the AKG N700NC M2 features a built-in microphone to receive calls on the go, but the AKG K371 does not. However, thanks to its wired connectivity, the K371 does have a much lower audio latency.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50X features a superior build quality when pitted against the AKG K371, and as a direct result, the former model sports a more stable fit than the AKG. In addition, the ATH-M50X’s audio drivers deliver a slightly tighter frequency response slope than the AKG K371, which results in a sharper and more accurate audio profile, but, as a result, it also suffers from more audio leaks than the AKG model, as flatter and more neutral sound is usually more piercing than bass-heavy audio profiles.

The AKG K371 comes with a much flatter, neutral, and balanced audio profile compared to the RØDE NTH-100, and as a result, the former model sounds more accurate out of the box. The AKG K371 also doesn’t suffer from audio leaks at high volumes, unlike the RØDE NTH-100. And the AKG K371 blocks out much more ambient noise than the RØDE NTH-100, despite both featuring a similarly styled closed-back and sealed design.
