What you consider the Best Air Purifier has undergone somewhat of a change recently. What’s in right now is looking for the best filterless air purifier. And while it may have a tougher time with finer airborne particles, the Iris 3000 is definitely something you’ll want to add to your collection of best air purifiers.

Why We Like It – Airfree Iris 3000

The Airfree Iris 3000 uses Thermodynamic TSS Technology which uses heat to kill bacteria instead of a UV light, which also means it won’t emit any ozone. Thanks to this, the air Airfree Iris 3000s omit are clean and healthy. Add in its low energy consumption, and you have a filter that costs next to nothing to run.

Pros
  • Low Energy Consumption
  • Destroy Mold Spores and Other Harmful Organisms
  • Filterless, Maintenance-Free, and Totally Silent
Cons
  • Has a Hard Time with Particulate Matters
  • Additional Features are Lacking

Power/Speed

Iris 3000 Airfree Air Purifiers use Airfree’s exclusive Patented Thermodynamic TSS Technology which uses heat to eliminate pathogens and organic allergens and reduces ozone for some of the best air purification. Other models, such as the Airfree Onix and the Airfree T800, also use this air filtration technology. The Iris 3000’s low energy consumption also means you’ll only be paying about $19.00 per year to run it.

Efficiency

The Iris 3000 has excellent room coverage. At 650 square feet, it’s among the largest we’ve seen so far, and definitely bigger than the Airfree P1000. For a relatively brand new technology, they really put a lot of effort into this coverage and we appreciate it. One handy feature the Iris 3000 also has is a warning indicator if the unit has been installed improperly.

Versatility

The filterless technology is what is really on display here. With it, a HEPA filter replacement is a thing of the past that also saves you a ton of money. Check out the Airfree Air Purifier if you’ve already been sold on filterless. The Iris 3000 destroys mold, dust mites, and bacteria, but unfortunately has a little bit of a problem when it tries to destroy microorganisms.

Durability

Unlike the Air Oasis 1000 G3, the Iris 3000 only weighs 3.5 pounds, so it should be easy to transfer from room to room for improved air quality in each. The awarded design is simple and comes in a good-looking black color. As icing on the cake, the Iris 3000 is also completely silent, which makes it a great quiet air purifier. And, you won’t have to worry if you decide to place it in your bedroom for a cleaner night’s sleep. Only the Airfree P1000 matches the total silence that you get from this air purifier.

Value

Customer reviews on Amazon are good, with a 4.5/5 star rating based on 210 reviews. The unit also comes with a handy adjustable night light. It’s multi-color so you can have a strong red or a more light color like white or a blue. Unfortunately, this is about as far as additional features go, and for this price tag, we expected just a bit more. Although, for a less expensive device, you might want to check out our Winix 5500-2 review. If you want a much more contemporary purifier then the Airdog FitAir Portable Air Purifier should be your best bet as it comes with an app and other extra features.

Airfree Iris 3000 Wrap Up

The lack of additional features isn’t really a big deal when you consider the unit does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Clean air and clean air powerfully and efficiently. You’ll save money because it’s maintenance-free, and its destructive capabilities with mold and bacteria will leave your air fresh and healthy!
