The AeraMax 100 Air Purifier does its job of purifying air exceptionally well. It’s surprisingly quiet for a large machine and the smart sensor is accurate when deciding on fan speeds. All of this adds up to a large amount of energy consumption though. Check out our best air purifier under 100 list for more great air purifiers!
Why We Like It – AeraMax 100 Air Purifier True HEPA Filter
AeraMax 100 Air Purifiers takes air purification to a whole new level with its four-stage filtration system. While most companies are stuck in a three-stage filtration era, the people of AeraMax have decided to take the next leap, for better or for worse, and you have to honour them for that.
The AeraMax Air Purifier strides into the spotlight with a four-stage filtration system. The Activated Carbon Filter acts as the pre-filter to eliminate large airborne particles like household odours and smoke. The True HEPA filter then takes care of small particles like pet dander and mold spores. The Aerasafe Antimicrobial Treatment prevents the growth of odour causing bacteria, mold, and fungi. Finally, the PlasmaTrue Technology, which can be turned on/off, creates an ionized field to safely remove airborne pollutants. Consider the Levoit LV-H132 Air Purifier if a three-stage filtration system is all you require.
The Fellowes AeraMax 100 has taken cues from the rest of the air purification world and embraced a thin and tall design philosophy. However, with a 7.25” width and 8.5” depth it’s still slightly wider than its competitors and resembles more of a rectangle. If you are looking for something a bit smaller, consider the GermGuardian GG1000 Pluggable Deodorizer Guardian. Unfortunately, the AeraMax 100 is rated for a room of 100 square feet which is significantly smaller than air purifiers of similar size. It would do well to improve the indoor air quality of a small bedroom or home office, but will struggle with anything bigger.
The AeraMax 100 retails for $119.00 on Amazon which is on the expensive side considering it can only clean a 100 square foot room. It does have a filter change indicator, though, and filter replacements aren’t that expensive. Check out the GermGuardian AC4825 for a unit of comparable size but more affordable. The AeraMax 100 also consumes quite a bit of energy. At the lowest fan speed setting it will consume 37 watts of power and that number rises to 51 watts at the highest setting.
AeraMax 100 Air Purifier True HEPA Filter Wrap Up
The AeraMax 100 Air Purifier not only knocks out odours in your home, but can also prevent them from reappearing. This comes at a cost though, literally, and a large amount of energy consumption and a small cleaning area. But the unit still brings more surprises, such as its quietness, which is comparable to units of even smaller size.
