The kind of subwoofer that gets you head bobbing and arms pumping, thanks to a frequency that can reach 250Hz, backed by power that peaks at 400 watts. A good subwoofer not for just getting the most out of music, but home theater systems as well.

You’ll get some high quality bass thanks to its high efficiency digital drive, with its down firing properties, as opposed to front firing. Bass sounds deeper, fuller, more enveloping than the 12-inch Polk Audio PSW505. Part of the subwoofer’s performance comes from its 250Hz—50Hz more than the Polk Audio PSW10’s 200Hz, with its low frequency dropping down to 25Hz. And with 400 watts of power to play with, you can find an optimal volume setting, which is 100 watts more than a Klipsch R-10SW.
The worst aspects of the Acoustic Audio PSW10 is the design,, though it’s entirely subjective. For starters, the black ash wood finish isn’t for everyone. People like to match their sets together, and black ash will make it stick out like a sore thumb if the rest of the setup doesn’t match. Secondly, it’s a bit bulky at 12.4″ × 11.4″ × 12.4″. It’s a bit larger than a Dayton Audio SUB-1000L, but still smaller than a BIC America F12. It comes with phase control switches, adjustable gain/level, and low level and speaker level inputs/outputs.
The Acoustic Audio PSW10 Home Theater Powered Subwoofer Black is a very versatile subwoofer. It’s high peak power and range of frequencies makes it fit just about any kind of setup you have. Want it for home theater systems? Absolutely. Want it just sitting on your desk for extra punch? You can do that, too. And when you feel like having some friends over, it’s going to get really loud, really quickly, without performance suffering. All of that gives it great value.
The Acoustic Audio PSW10 is such a versatile subwoofer, whether it’s filling it for surround sound or simply listening to some head-bobbing music. Its 25-250Hz frequency range and 400 watts of power make it so. Just make sure you have enough real estate and complementary finishes to match it (or don’t).
