Let’s not mince words: Kia isn’t a luxury brand (at least not yet – more on that in a second). The company has largely experienced success amongst amongst a younger generation that seek a practical, yet fairly well equipped car. So what business do they have entering the luxury market? Arguably, none. But that’s exactly who they’re targeting with the K900.
So all in, with a fully loaded 2015 Kia K900 – this includes reclining back seats, a V8 engine that kicks out 420hp and all the other bells and whistles you could probably think of – costs $65,000. That’s a far cry from a comparably equipped BMW and Audi (the A8 and 7-series to be more specific). So you see, the K900 is the bargain choice, and while it won’t attract a large audience, proves that the “budget” car company (one that has showed tremendous growth and a brand recovery of sorts) can produce a vehicle that can share a garage with its German counterparts.
Sure, it lacks the prestige and handling of its German counterparts. But for the average driver, one that seeks a roomy sedan with just about every feature, and for a price below $70,000, will that matter?
