Another PS3 Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Patch For Friday…Hurry!

November 11th, 2009 2:31 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

Yesterday Infinity Ward had released a patch to alleviate the problems that players were having with Trophies.  Since that patch, Multiplayer has gone down and is unplayable at the moment.  Ahhhh!!!  That sucks.

I’ve been having a stellar time playing MP on my 360 and I’m glad there are no hiccups there.  According to IF’s Robert Bowling Twitter feed, another patch will be available on Friday that will effectively patch the bad patch.

What day is it?  Wednesday?  The patch is on Friday?  Wait.. this just in…Activision is stating that the multiplayer issues are unrelated to the IW patch and that they don’t have a “hard” ETA as to when their servers would come back up.  I’ll say it again.  That sucks.

TwitterPeek Twitter Only Device Is Real And Available Now For $100

October 27th, 2009 7:58 PM | by Christen da Costa

Twitterpeek

There’s nothing like following a trend and sinking a bunch of R&D to what turns out to be a fad.  Yup, I’m referring to Twitter and today Peek, the folks behind the email dedicated device has drank their helping of the kool aid and released the TwitterPeek, an always connected Twitter device.  Email appears to be devoid in this version, as does the higher price tag as the TwitterPeek costs just $99.95, includes 6 months of service and costs just $7.95/month there after, which is about half the price of Peek’s original offerings.

I’m kidding about the R&D money since this was probably a question of porting some software over.  And although this move seems like a must do, my gut still says it’s a bit too early for a dedicated Twitter device.

Naughty Dog Kills Twitter On Uncharted 2

October 6th, 2009 8:55 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

uncharted2

Just as soon as we post on Naughty Dog implementing Twitter to Uncharted 2 they take it away.  I guess they just thought it was annoying as a days worth of gaming could produce up to fifty Twitter updates in about five hours.  While that seems like a bit overwhelming I really thought you could toggle certain things to tweet or not tweet.

With no real reason given by Naughty Dog for axing the feature, I still think that it’s a good idea within moderation.  It’s great if you really wanna let your followers know how much video games your playing but I can see it getting bothersome.  Figured they’d fix if before abandoning it though?

Uncharted 2 For PS3: The First Game To Tweet For You?

September 17th, 2009 2:30 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

uncharted2

In what initially appears to be awesomely innovative, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is going to be the first game that will actually update your Twitter account as you play.

You will be able to toggle a bunch of twit-able things such as: connecting to multiplayer, uploading cinema files, level completion, trophies, and earned multiplayer money.

Sounds like a great idea and more games should offer this type of connectivity.  Uncharted 2: Among Thieves hits retail shelves next month.  Anybody else think this is a good idea?

Rumor: iTunes 9 To Have Blu-Ray Support and Extended App Organization?

August 10th, 2009 1:06 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

itunes-logo

Most rumors have some shred of truth to them so we’ll see where that gets us with this post.  iTunes 9 is allegedly supposed to have some sort of Blu-Ray support.  If I were to guess, I would say that it is some sort of  framework for upcoming Macs that could have Blu-Ray drives in them or for PC’s that have them already.  Other guesses could include digital copies of Blu-Ray movie purchases and or for using interactive content.

As far as app organization, there will be the ability to visually organize applications and that it will somehow integrate social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Last.fm.  My guess on that would offer the notion that it would update your status with iTunes purchases or what you’re currently listening to.

Early September should bring these rumors to light as last year introduced iTunes 8 as well as new iPod models.  That makes sense for this year because the free iPod Touch promotion ends on September 8th.  Expect Apple truth to see due diligence on September 9th.

google twitter

Rumors from unnamed sources suggest Google is considering a buyout of the popular Twitter service. Other reports suggest they’re only collaborating on a real-time search engine. Whatever the case may be, a joint ‘twoogle’ project is sure to be something very interesting.

Twitter’s Growth Too Much For Early Adopters

March 31st, 2009 7:53 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

fail-whale

In the past year, Twitter’s user base has had an unprecedented leap from 475,000 users to over 7 million! Those are some crazy figures which makes the 1,374 percent increase sound even crazier.  According to the blogs blurbs of the day, all these new Twitter heads are really clogging up the birdhouse and producing more “Fail Whale” sightings.  The “OG” Twitterers think all the new users are a drain on the system and are trite and exploitive by nature, and they are making the “coolness’ of Twitter less exclusive.  Far weirder has been the recent development of this “Fail Whale” subculture that has been gaining steam in the recent weeks.  People are becoming obsessed with the logo, (see above tattoo) and embracing the symbol of failure through parties and specialty cocktails.  What I don’t understand is that I Tweet most everyday and have never seen this fabled whale?

Rumored Palm PRE Release Date Fake?

March 31st, 2009 5:10 PM | by Christen da Costa

palm-pre-april-30

According to Appscout, Palm and Sprint will NOT be launching the Palm PRE on April 30th as originally rumored. They also go on to say that the Twitterer is a ‘fake’, which might mean they just Tweated misinformation that they were told or they’re trying to spread rumors for the ‘high’ – no one really knows. Ironically, the squashing of the rumored 30th launch date has little to no credibility, which only lends itself to further speculation and rumor.  After all, we know what happened with the Mac Mini 2009 rumor.

In any case, the Palm PRE should launch in Q2 which means a drop dead date of June 30th, 2009.

Twitter To Hire VIP Celebrity Concierge’s At 140 Characters An Hour

March 30th, 2009 3:04 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

While Twitter has quickly become the one of the best ways to live vicariously through your favorite s**tbag celebrity, now even you can become part of the rage with a job working for Twitter as a VIP concierge.  The JobScore posting is on hold at the moment and there isn’t much of a job description, but it takes place in San Francisco.  I guess you would sort of be a remote customer service operator that tailored to celebrities and made sure that they were using twitter at maximum efficiency.  How could that go wrong?  Is this a joke?  Check out or top 10 celebrity twitter feeds!
