Die hard Apple fans will definitely want to get their hands on the newest Steve Jobs action figure available from Chinese toy company In Icons. Very realistic looking (down to the trademark turtleneck and glasses of Jobs), the toy company plans on selling the Jobs action figure starting next month for $99 (via Mashable). But that’s if Apple doesn’t send them a cease-and-desist letter since it’s doesn’t have the official stamp of approval from them.

Last time an unofficial bobblehead-type Jobs figure came out, Apple quickly shut down production with a cease-and-desist order with claims of copyright infringement. Apple followers will probably want to cross their fingers that if Apple decides to halt production on the latest Jobs toys it’ll be in mid-February, so they’ll still have some time to snatch one up before it’s too late.

In Icons teamed up with Hong Kong-based toy manufacturer Dragon In Dreams to create the 12-inch realistic figure (they also collaborated on the 2008 popular action figure of Barack Obama).

Thanksgiving might be today, but many of you are probably thinking way ahead to your Black Friday list and what stores you’ll be heading out to. Despite being a day to enjoy time with family and all the amazing food that comes with the highly appreciated holiday (and its four-day weekend for many), it’s also a time to start your holiday shopping and score everything on your Christmas gift list at discounted prices. But believe us, Black Friday is more than a day of shopping…it’s a day of strategizing, maneuvering and conquering and isn’t for the faint of heart. You have to be ruthless out there to make sure you get EXACTLY what you want. To help navigate this huge shopping day, we’ve provided some great spots that have the best deals.

It’s Friday…the day you’ve been waiting for all week! Just one more day unit your weekend begins. As you eagerly count down the hours until you can leave work, entertain yourself by checking out the top Tech Videos and Gadgets for the week! New Nikon cameras, a yacht and footage of that horrible plane crash in Reno plus more will make those never-ending hours go a bit faster!

8. Bamboo Glass Water Bottle

The Bamboo Glass Water Bottle is a safer option than drinking out of a plastic or metal bottle since it’s safer from a chemical standpoint, won’t wear out over time and won’t taint the flavor. But the bamboo shell is also a thin insulator, but really, it just looks good! And for only $25, we think it’s a score!

7. NERF Vortex Nitron

The NERF Vortex Nitron is an ultimate NERF toy that isn’t just for kids! It can blast up to 20 NERF discs at 25-feet in rapid succession thanks to its battery-powered motor. And to help you nail your target, the Vortex Nitron includes a Centerfire Tech Electronic Scope that uses pulsing targeting lights. The NERF Vortex Nitron is available now from Amazon for about $44 (but you’ll also need to get 6 1-1/2-volt C or LR 14 alkaline and two 1-1/2-volt AAA or R03 batteries).

6. Logitech Harmony Link

Logitech’s new Harmony Link connects your iPad to your home theater gear by utilizing a small box that translates WiFi signals into infrared commands, but it does it in style! A much neater and sleeker package than that of Thinkflood’s Red Eye remote, Harmony Link has: its own app, which includes programming info from Rovio; allows you to setup macro commands, such as turn on the TV and the Blu-ray in one stroke; and increase the volume of your speakers with the swipe of a finger or flip between channels. It goes on sale next month for $99.99.

5. Nikon J1 and V1 Pocket DSLR Cameras

Nikon just announced info on its new J1 and V1 Pocket DSLR Cameras that feature an interchangeable lens, HD video capture and superfast autofocus that is supposed to be the best. The Nikon J1 will go on sale on October 20th for $649.95 and will include a 10-30mm lens kit. Alternatively, for $899.95 you can pick up the Nikon V1 with a 10-30mm lens kit. Oh, and did we mention these babies come in various colors?!

4. Gray Design Sovereign Luxury Yacht

Oh to be rich and be able to afford Gray Design’s Sovereign 300-foot luxury yacht. It’s actually an eco-friendly yacht since the mast contains a wind turbine that collects energy along an array of solar panels that are on the roof, which helps power the lighting system and juice up the on board battery system. It also features an infinity pool, helicopter pad, a Jacuzzi covered by a retractable sun cover, three floors, nightclub, cinema, gym, library and a beach club which looks up through the floor of the helipad. It’s basically a mansion that floats!

3. Electric Tron Light Cycle Parker Brothers Choppers In Action

Check out the full scale Electric Tron Lightcycle driving in the daytime as well as nighttime. In case you don’t know, this bike has had extensive reworking on the body, as well as Lithium Ion batteries and a 96volt electric motor in order to look like the Light Cycle in the movie Tron. It’s built by Parker Brothers Choppers and can be yours for only $55,000.

2. Video Footage of Reno Air Show Crash

This past Saturday was a horrific crash that killed six people at a Reno Air Show when a 1940′s World War II-era plane crashed. New, yet shocking, footage has surfaced that shows the plane just a few hundred feet overhead before it took it went down. Thanks to technology, videos and images were up on the net within minutes, which goes to show how fast news reaches the public now. Before you had to wait for news people to give you the story; now you can get it on the net minutes after it occurs.

1. Camera App Pastes Another Person’s Face Onto Your Own

Faces from

Arturo Castro has created a new app that can paste another person’s face onto your own, which he shows off in his “faces” video. The app is somewhat like the motion capture technology seen in Avatar, but uses real people. He built the app using some tools that he borrowed from others, including a coder at WETA Digital (they did The Lord Of The Rings movies’ special effects). So cool!

4.5 out of 5 stars

For the longest time now, if a group of kids wanted to play a game with guns in their backyard the choices of what to use were somewhat limited. There are B.B. guns, but you’re not supposed to shoot them at people; there’s paintball guns, but in a backyard situation they’re hardly optimal (unless your backyard consists of a few acres of woods) – or there were Nerf (and other dart) guns. Nerf has been the king of the backyard battleground because of the innovations they’ve shown in the past, and no one has had the chutzpah to challenge them.

Until now.

Enter The Maya Group with their new line of Xploderz guns. What the Xploderz guns use for ammo in the really revolutionary thing they bring to the table. The problem with Nerf-style guns, is that unless you’re playing in a totally “sterile” (an arena with white walls and floors) environment, the darts can be a real pain to find. Usually gaming sessions end up with at least one dart per gun MIA, and the reloading times end up causing an unnatural break in the action. Xploderz uses water-infused pellets, for ammo that is one-time use. They call it “H2-Grow”, and in reality the pellets do grow as they absorb water (although the process takes a few hours). The pellets don’t really absorb enough water to get you wet however, so don’t think this will also work for a squirt gun battle.

You load one of the guns by attaching a clip full of “wet ballz”. The clip is gravity fed, and when you pull back the plunger, a vacuum piston inside pulls one of the “wet ballz” into the chamber. That’s one thing I didn’t particularly like on the XRanger 2000, is that you had to pull the knob to reload it after every shot, and where it’s positioned (in front of the trigger) makes it a bit awkward. The Maya Group claims that the XRanger 2000 can shot up to 85 feet, and in my testing I was able to hit that mark pretty consistently. I definitely was out ranging my son when he tried to shoot me with his Stampede.

The XRanger 2000 is surprisingly comfortable to use even though it’s fairly large (just a bit bigger than the Nerf Stampede), and it’s pretty light as well (no batteries). While the gun doesn’t have the power to make the “wet ballz” explode one hundred percent of the time, they don’t hurt when you get hit by one. Generally though, if the target is within 40 or so feet the ball will explode – power just drops off too much at more distance.

The XRanger 2000 retails for $39.99, and comes with the gun, 2000 dry “wet ballz” (oxymoron?), a removable butt-stock, and a fold a way bipod. As long as you don’t mind buying new ammo after you run dry (a 500 round pack runs between $5.00 and $5.99 depending on where you shop), the XRanger 2000 is a great gun to add to any collection. While it may not be ideal for CQB matches, you’ll be able to outdistance your friends in a wide-open setting.

What do you get when you combine a water gun with a paint ball gun? Xploderz, naturally of course. We we’re surprised to discover that the ammo ships without any water and has to be hydrated before use. The company says that it’s made up of superabsorbent polymers that absorb water in between the molecules. Max range, which varies with each weapon, is up to 85 feet and is powered by the built-in hand pump. Because it contains water, it won’t stain clothing or carpets, but enemies will know they’re hit when they feel the H2O absorb through their clothing.

Pricing starts at $15.

The gun itself measures up to 3 feet long making it the longest in the NERF gun collection and can be disassembled much like a real sniper rifle for easy transport. It includes a blaster, barrel extension, flip-up sight, quick-reload clip and six darts.

Thinkgeek is hocking it for $49.99.

A flash drive is a flash drive, right? Well, maybe not if you’re a massive LEGO fan. Today, the toy company released the first, yes first official LEGO USB flash drive. It can store up to 2GB of data and includes a built-in key chain ring.

Apparently LEGO anticipates that they’ll be in such high demand, and perhaps even hit the gray market for a premium price, that they’re limiting the $25 device to 5 per customer.

If the iPhone is enough to satiate your need for all things Apple, perhaps you’ll consider a small investment in this Steve Jobs ninja statue aptly named the “Pineapple CEO”. Get it?

From what we understand, Apple has be sent a cease and desist order to MICGadget since Steve didn’t approve the likeness or use of his name. And although the company behind the toy was careful to not show his face in full on the product’s website, it’s pretty damn evident who it is.

The figurine ships with a shuriken, or ninja star held in the left hand, and a modular set of arms with white or black iPhone that can be popped in or out of the figurine’s body. But the details don’t end there. There is the quintessential black turtle neck tucked into the jeans, the glasses and the sneakers. MICGadgets has also included word bubbles with its very own mounting system so the “Pineapple CEO” can say what ever you fancy.

Currently the figurine is sold out and we’re not sure if it will ever go back on sale given the legal action threatened towards the company. But you should know it ain’t cheap; $89.90 plus $10 shipping.

Mattel’s Mindflex game was received with both cheers and jeers when it launched a few years ago.

The original game called for the player to wear a headset that read brain activity. An increase in brain activity increased the fans power and thus a higher floating ball. Conversely a decrease in brain waves lessened the fan’s power and thus the opposite affect. To complete or win the game, the user had to turn a dial and position the floating ball through a variety of hoops all the while remaining focused on maintaining brain activity.

However, the latest iteration, Mattel’s Radica Mindflex Duel game, pits you against another opponent. Instead of a set of a hoops players battle to push the same fan power balled into their opponents “end zone”. We’re not entirely sure how it works, but we’re assuming that the brain wave activity is linked to both the fan power and the movement of the ball.

Poll any self respecting parent and they’ll probably tell you that the last thing they want their kid playing with is a skateboard or scooter – pretty much anything that insures a fractured skull is guaranteed to boil the blood pressure.

But if we can table those fears for a minute and consider just how much cooler the Springboard Scooter is over those regular old Razor Scooters. Built-in to the footboard is a “truck spring”, a suspension system that provides extra lift for kick-offs and “bunny hops,” while still providing the necessary stability for traditional moves like grinding a rail. There is of course the obligatory rear wheel brake and adjustable height handlebar.

Hammacher has it for $59.95.

You know what’s missing from my home? A 7-foot tall gum ball machine. Why have plants and artwork when you can enjoy the sounds of a 1960s gumball machine, right? The dome measures a whopping 42-inches in diameter and holds up to 14,450 gumballs. Hammacher offers it at $3,900, which mind you includes your first fill of gumballs.

$499 is a completely ridiculous amount of money to spend on a rubber band gun, but if you’ve got the extra cash and willing to splurge on a useless piece of kit, then have at it.

This toy, if you can call it that, holds up to 100 rubber bands and shoots them one at a time as fast as you can turn the crank. It’s crafted from solid billet aluminum then powder coated for color and finish giving it a final weight of 15-20lbs. The ammunition, standard rubber bands (size 64), can be purchased at Walmart, at least according to the manufacture.

There is not rationalizing the obsession Star Wars geeks have with the movie series. The same can apply when it comes to the collector crap.

The Darth Vader Robotic Arm comes disassembled in 45 different parts. All you need to do is snap the pieces together and you’ll be one step closer to Sith status. Despite it being called a “robotic arm”, this toy is all manually orchestrated. It can be manipulated to hold “light objects”, or perhaps give a Sith Lord finger to anyone standing in its way. It will probably make a great holiday gift, even for the non-Star Wars fan.

Thinkgeek has it for $40.
