Why we didn’t see these Star Wars iPhone cases 2+ years ago when the iPhone launched is beyond me, but nonetheless they’re here.  For $30 you get a hard shell case (fits 3G or 3GS only) with either Darth Vader or a Storm Trooper’s face adhered to the back.   Ships December 8th -  just in time for Xmas.

The ever so memorable scene from Star Wars when Luke blows up the Death Star for the 1st time can soon be yours to control anywhere you go.  It could be a great way to impress a young lady at a bar,  or perhaps even start a riot at a Trekkie convention.

THQ will be releasing Star Wars Trench Run for the iPhone and iPod Touch.   The game will used tilt based controls and with no price or actual release date set, I can’t imagine the game being over a few dollars.  But after watching the video below it seems like a very short game so that may warrant a very low price tag.  We’ll see.

Redefining quality Star Wars products seems to be a top priority these days for Marc Ecko.  The newest entry is his line of Star Wars inspired watches from Timex and they actually look pretty cool.

What a great gift idea for kids who have Star Wars fans as parents.  Featuring four of some of the most iconic Star Wars characters, each one (with the exception of R2D2) makes a associated noise upon being squeezed.

Chewbacca makes his famous wookie holler, Darth does his heavy breathing thing, and Yoda rattles off some incoherent babble.  No clue as to why R2D2 has nothing to say.  Maybe that’s why he/it is cheaper.  The other three go for $25 and R2D2 goes for $20.

With little to no fanfare, the Star Wars Force Trainer mind game is now officially on sale. ThinkGeek has it for $120, which is considerably more than Mattel’s offering, the Mindflex. But unlike its closest competition you won’t have to wait until October to show off your family’s Jedi like abilities and you’ll see just how quick your kid gets bored of starring at a $120 floating ball.

My advice: save your cash and get your kid Tony Hawk’s RIDE

Remember the Star Wars Force Trainer mind game that we saw at the beginning of the year?  Well, it looks like it’s set to ship they day before Mattel’s similar offering, the Mindflex, on September 30th, that is assuming we can trust the retailer’s info.  Pricing seems to be varied with one place selling it for about $115 and another for $140.  In any event, I wanna try both out but don’t think I’ll be dropping this kind of cash on either game which is sure to provide about 24 hours of entertainment.

I’m not sure why, but Mimoco’s Mimobot flash drives are so darn attractive.  Well, actually I do know why: it’s all their cool facades.  This time around they’ve updated their line of Star Wars flash drives and included variations of Darth Vader.  Best of all this iteration of the flash drives features a USB cap that doubles as a mask and when removed reveals the face beneath.  And set for release at Comic Con, Mimoco will unveil a 3rd installment, limited edition – 500 to be exact – Darth Vader drive which will actually feature Luke Skywalker’s face, just as Luke imagined himself on Dagobah in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.

Star Wars games have always been hit or miss.  The last two generations of consoles though has seen sort of a renaissance of quality Star Wars games with the Lego series as well as The Force Unleashed and the Knights of the Old Republic.  With the recent popularity of the Clone Wars animated series comes Republic Heroes.  Coming this fall for just about every console, the trailer is short but depicts the same animated style as the cartoon and looks pretty cool.  The word Hero is fast becoming the most over used word in the video game industry.  Check it out.

The latest Star Trek movie made its theatrical release today and with it should come not only a box office bum rush of cash, but hordes of Trekky geeks lining the streets awaiting entry into theaters to watch the scifi flick.  To kick things into over drive, someone put together an After Affects video of the Death Star destroying the Starship Enterprise.  Sure, it could’ve been a die hard fan, but this one has viral video shop written all over it.

You gotta be freakin’ kidding me?  Some nut created a stop-motion video of Lego characters erecting the 5,195 piece Lego Millennium Falcon.  Oh, and they didn’t just build the falcon.  No, they had Darth Vader roll in and cut off C3Po’s head and the republic attack the construction yard, all complete with light saber and blaster special effects.  Sure makes me feel lazy.

We just saw and posted a walk through video of Mattel’s Mindflex game.  Uncle Milton Industries, which I guess is a competitor, isn’t taking the news lying down. In fact, utilizing the same technology developed by NeuroSky, the toy company has announced the Force Trainer.  The device is branded with the all too familiar Star Wars sound effects and challenges players to float a ball at specific levels using just their concentration.  Just like the Mindflex, the Force Trainer reads the player’s brain wave levels and converts that information into ‘fan amplitude’.  Concert more and the fan’s power increases.  Lower your concentration and the fan’s power decreases.

No word on release date, but I’d expect it in the latter half of 2009.  The Force Trainer will cost $90 to $100.
