iTwinge QWERTY Keyboard Adapter For iPhone 3G(S)

September 16th, 2009 8:50 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

itwinge

For those of you out there harping on the iPhone for it’s lack of a physical keyboard, I think your day might of just arrived.  Announced today,  iTwinge will release a QWERTY keyboard adapter for the iPhone 3G(S) that will give you that down home assurance that the keys are actually there.  Shipping on November 19th, the iTwinge keyboard adapter will cost $30.

It would be cool if it had a keychain adapter or lanyard attachment so you could keep it close because you obviously don’t need this all the time.

LG Announces GW620, Their First Android Phone, But Is Mum On The Specs

September 14th, 2009 10:06 AM | by Christen da Costa

lg-gw620-android-phone

LG may have officially announced their first Android based smartphone, but they’re pretty mum on the deets.  What we do know is that the GW620 sports a 3-inch touchscreen, will be social networking ready right out of the box and includes a slide out QWERTY keyboard.  Since the GW620 is set for release this 4th quarter in select European markets we can only assume that they’ll give us a full spec run down any day now.

Right now Verizon must be happier than a pig in poo. Why? They just launched HTC’s Touch Pro2, and despite being one of the last carriers to the gate with this smartphone, they’ve managed to undercut the competition by $150. That’s right, you can grab the HTC Touch Pro2 (this Friday) for $200 after 2-year contract signing and $100 mail-in-rebate. Meanwhile T-Mobile and Sprint are selling the same handset for $350.

Palm Pixi Is Official, Fairy Dust No Where To Be Found

September 9th, 2009 6:45 PM | by Christen da Costa

palm-pixi-1

It might lack all the robust specs that the PRE has to offer, but Palm’s Pixi is being touted as the thinnest phone to date from the handset manufacturer.

And like the PRE, it uses the same webOS, includes an always exposed QWERTY keyboard and inductive charging via the Palm Touchstone.  The back of the device is finished in rubber, or if you so chose you can opt for one of their artist series back covers.

Other features include a 2 megapixel camera, 2.63-inch LCD, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, 8GB of storage, Qualcomm’s MSM7627 chipset, proximity sensor, light sensor, accelerometer, ringer switch and weighs a respectable 3.51oz.

The Palm Pixi (aka EOS) will launch on Sprint sometime this holiday for a yet to be disclosed price.

Nokia N97 Review

August 24th, 2009 8:04 PM | by Christen da Costa

nokia-n97-02

A few weeks, perhaps even almost a few months ago, Nokia introduced their flagship handset, the Nokia N97. I’m not a die hard Nokia fan, but what little I did see about the N97 before the official announcement had me relatively excited, and some what happy that the Finish phone company was truly taking the touchscreen smartphone game seriously. That is until I actually played with it. After spending some weeks with the N97 it’s most certainly a decent device, but it’s far from a game changer for the industry or the Nokia brand.

So at this point everyone and their mother knows that Apple has set the touchscreen smartphone bar with the iPhone. While I want to resist the comparison, you know there is just no freaking way. …Continue reading: Nokia N97 Review

T-Mobile Pulls Down Pricing With The Launch Of The Gravity 2

August 20th, 2009 2:40 PM | by Christen da Costa

sgh-t469_orange_gravity2

T-Mobile and Samsung officially launched the Gravity 2 today. They’re billing it as an “affordable 3G messaging phone”, and at $30 with a 2-year contact signing I’d have to agree ($50 mail-in-rebate required).  It features a slide out QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel camera, GPS…

htc-touch-pro2-tmobile

Yesterday we saw the HTC Touch Pro2 emerge with AT&T branding and today the phone became available for purchase from T-Mobile for a non-recession friendly $350, and that’s after a 2-year service agreement. What T-Mobile is smoking is anyone’s guess, but if you’ve got the will power hold out a month or so and I’m sure we’ll see a…

July 30th, 2009 6:37 PM | by Christen da Costa

ht-touch-pro2

News has surfaced that T-Mobile is priming their guns to launch the HTC Touch Pro2. This news comes as a surprise as we last saw the Touchpro2 in May adorned with a Verizon badge. The launch date for the QWERTY, touchscreen handset is said to be August 12th, but price is currently unknown.
