Nikon Coolpix S1000pj: The World’s First Digital Camera With A Built-in Projector (video)
August 4th, 2009 1:10 PM | by Christen da Costa
So about that Nikon Coolpix S1000pj digital point and shoot. Well, things got firmed up today when What Digital Camera got a complete hands on with the device. As suspected, and detailed yesterday, it’s a 12 megapixel shooter with a built-in projector that can throw up a 40-inch image onto any surface. On top of the camera is an aperture control (sorry, no auto focus yet) while the back of the camera includes a 2.7-inch LCD, two pieces of info we didn’t know yesterday. There’s no official word from Nikon as of yet, so we’re still left wondering what the lumen and contrast ratio is.
[Thanks, Richard]
Gadget Rumor: Nikon Coolpix S1000pj 12MP Point And Shoot To Feature A Built-in Projector
August 3rd, 2009 3:30 PM | by Christen da Costa
The digital point and shoot rumorville is a stir again with news that Nikon is on the cusp of releasing a 12 megapixel compact shooter with a built-in projector that can pop out a 40-inch image. Talk about synergy, the Coolpix S1000pj package is said to also include a stand and remote, which should make its projector abilities all the more useful in those mass audience scenarios. And of course it does the typical point and shoot stuff, such as 5x optical zoom, face priority and image stabilization. But with all this tech inevitably comes a platinum galvanized price tag of about $590 US. It’s said to be arriving this September, but we can’t confirm that at this time.

MiLi Pro iPhone Video Projector
June 26th, 2009 1:06 PM | by Christen da Costa
I really gotta hand it to PhoneSuit. Why? Because, they continue to stick to their guns and battle it out in the iPhone accessory market. Although I wasn’t floored with their first battery back, the Mili Pro iPhone Video Projector looks to be the stuff dreams are made of. They’ve combined a tiny LCOS LED projector with their battery pack to produce a highly portable – palm sized in fact – projector that can display up to a 40-inch 640×480 image (it can go as large at 70-inches, but 40 is optimal). There is no official word on playback time, but it does include a built-in speaker, RCA inputs, a 10 lumen output and is compatible with all iPhones and iPods. Price of the Mili Pro iPhone Video Projector is TBD and you can expect it to arrive this September just in time for the holidays.
