For all you Modern Warfare 2 trailer junkies out there, GameStop has just released a promotional trailer that shows off a new multiplayer map entitled “rust”.

A pretty short video aimed at being mildly humorous, it’s main intention is to get you to go to SurprizeAttack.com twice a day for your chance to win some real life vehicles as long as you have pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 from GameStop.

Mass Effect 2 Dated For January 2010, Pre-Order Goodies To Come

I’ll say it right now that I have not been following the development of Mass Effect 2. I was thoroughly disappointed in the first installment and couldn’t even play through it.  Despite my disdain for this game this is an important nugget of gaming news.

EA will be releasing Mass Effect 2 to the salivating masses on January 26th in the US with Europe to follow on the 29th.  Alongside this news is the announcement of some free bonus content if you pre-order ME2 in the form of a downloadable code once you bring the game home on launch day.

The content is split up between some select retailers.  Most will receive codes for an “Inferno Armor” (pictured above), while pre-order content masters GameStop will get codes for the “Terminus Armor” (pictured below) as well as the M-490 Blackstorm Heavy Weapon.  No word as to if this content will be accessible at any point to gamers who opt to not pre-order ME2.

Pre-Order Borderlands From GameStop And Get 8 Free Guns

October 7th, 2009 3:55 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

borderlands_box_art

Borderlands is a game I’m really interested in how it turns out.  Arriving later this month, I have a feeling it could rightly be this fall’s sleeper hit.  If you’ve read anything about this game you’ll know that it offers you a seemingly endless amount of weaponry using a technique found in MMO’s called “Procedural Weapon Generation”.  This system randomly generates unique weapons making the game absolutely different for each player.  Due to an internal dice that’s rolled, not all of these weapons will be awesome.  That’s not the case it what I’m about to write.

Announced today, if you hurry up and pre-order Borderland from GameStop you’ll get the “Mercenary Weapons Pack” which features 8 unique quality weapons to use when you get the game.  Sounds cool but I’ll wait to read the reviews before I jump on this band wagon.  I made the mistake of getting all hyped up over Far Cry 2, which also had exclusive GameStop content coincidentally, and I haven’t even played halfway through it.

Amazon Kindle DX Pre-Order For $489 (video)

May 6th, 2009 2:02 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

Kindle DX

Well here it is, the Amazon Kindle DX.  While boasting a much larger screen at 9.7 inches with 1,200 x 824 resolution and 150ppi, it does load pages a bit slower.  Also the DX weighs about twice as much as the Kindle 2 (10oz vs. 18oz), but it is just a tiny bit thicker (0.38-inches vs. 0.36-inches).  Screen rotation to landscape mode is one of the major new features but adjustment time is slower at about 3-4 seconds.  Available for pre-order now at $489, the Amazon Kindle DX will ship this summer.
