On Sunday, Verizon and Novatel will officially launch their PC770 2-in-1 PC Card and Express Broadband Card.  It’s not exactly the gadget news that we all lust after, but since it might solve a purchase decision for those working in the IT business, it’s worth a mention.  If you’d like to buy one you can grab it for $99.99 after a 2-year contract signing at Verizon Wireless’ website this Sunday or give them a ring a ding.  Otherwise you’ll have to wait until August 2nd when it will show up in store.

Verizon just announced the launch date and pricing of Novatel’s 3G Mifi 2200 router on their network.  Now Sprint is looking to take a bit of wind out of their sail by launching the exact same product, albeit a few weeks later (sometime early June).   The hardware is exactly the same, except Sprint has enabled its GPS functionality and is offering a Simply Everything plan for $149.99/month that includes 5GB of data and presumably unlimited minutes.  The carrier will also offer a $59.99/month plan that will include 5GB of data.  When it launches next month expect to drop $99.99 after a 2-year contract signing and $50 mail-in-rebate.

Novatel Intros The ‘Mifi’, A Hotspot Sharing Router

December 9th, 2008 6:12 PM | by Christen da Costa

Novatel unveiled the MiFi today, a router that allows you to share your 3G hotspot. The details, well, seem to be lacking, but much like the Huawei D100 Router it connects to your 3G hot spot connection and distributes the bandwidth over WiFi. Its svelte like design will be a warm welcome from any traveler, but with that comes sacrifices, such as a 4 hour battery life (40 hour standby) and the missing USB port that makes the Huawei D100 Router so convenient.

The Novatel MiFi will hit sometime the first half of 2009 with no price disclosed.
