We’ve all heard of water proof or water resistant clothing, but generally that involves a special material that is lined into the fabric. Gortex is a good example of this tech, which is both waterproof and breathable. But that’s costly and not all that practical. And while you can spray your shoes with a “water proofing” it will never equate to the same benefits as Gortex. So what’s your resolve?

Ross Technology’s has developed a 100% waterproof spray called NeverWet. But it’s not just waterproof, it’s superhydrophic, which as the name suggests, makes whatever you spray the chemical on impenetrable or nonporous to liquids of any type.

Now we don’t know what would happen if you submerged the item sprayed with NeverWet, but as you can see from the above video it completely prevents the liquid from squirreling its way into the fabric’s crevices. Pretty damn impressive, right?

We can’t help but wonder what would happen if you sprayed this onto your skin?

Wow, Motorola has taken direct aim at Apple. If you thought the RAZR wasn’t a response to Apple’s iPhone 4s, checkout the MOTOACTV, a lightweight, iPad Nano inspired workout device.

The touchscreen measures 1.6-inch, is sweat resistant, and like the RAZR has be reinforced using Corning’s Gorilla Glass. But unlike Apple’s comparable offering, the MOTOACTV can track pace, speed and location thanks to a built-in GPS function (the latest iPod Nano software can track some of this info, but doesn’t include GPS). They’ve also infused it with some tech that measures your performance against your stored songs and creates a “high performance playlist” to push you to that next fitness level. The MOTOACTV is also capable of measuring your heart rate, though you’ll need to invest in either the Motorola SF700 wireless or Motorola SF500 wired headphones, which sport a heart rate sensor and thus negating the sometimes annoying chest strap.

When you’re done with your workout you can upload the stats to the MOTOACTV web portal, where fitness experts can provide feedback and you can compete again friends for the best lap or perhaps the most explosive heart rate.

The MOTOACTV supports both ANT+ tech (used in many of Garmin’s products), Bluetooth 4.0 and can achieve 5 hours on a single charge outside, or 10 hours inside. Included is a strap for wearing it on your wrist or arm and a clip for attaching it to clothing.

The MOTOACTV will ship November 6th for $299 (16GB) or $249 (8GB). The SF700 wireless headphones will cost $149, while the wired version, the SF500 will cost $99.

Amazon is offering a new low price on the Apple MC526LL/A iPod nano 16 GB Silver (6th Generation)!

Just as the title implies the world’s sleekest and easiest to use MP3-Player just got a lot easier to obtain! Now the Apple iPod Nano’s latest generation player comes to you at a much lower price, but for what it offers it certainly seems a steal of a deal. This Nano includes a full multi-touch display and to supplement the usual music playback it’s also capable of playing videos and even displaying all of your album artwork without so much as breaking a sweat. The functionality included will seem very familiar, and that’s because it’s based on the same technology as the iPod Touch, and when you consider that and how portable this device is there seems to be nothing you can’t do. That’s not all this generation added however, and with this Nano you can use gestures like shaking the player to shuffle through your music thereby not even having to touch a button. Now that’s smart.

Today Apple cut the prices of all their iPod Nano (Other than silver). It’s now $149.99 after a $30 instant savings.

Keep in mind that the 5th generation iPod Nano included a camera. So readding such a feature to a smaller form factor could very well add some sales to the product. But, the Nano is so small that it would be difficult, or at least a tad trying to hold the device and shoot a photo without blocking the lens. Perhaps Apple will add a running feature that snap photos as you jog a set distance.

The WALdok is a perfect example of form meets function. It’s a portable speaker system designed specifically for the iPod Nano that plugs into any US wall outlet and provides what is supposedly an ample amount of sound despite the rather small form factor.

Inside the device is a 40mm driver, that is complemented by a bass chamber, and hopefully produces a wide enough spectrum of sound it doesn’t sound like your listening through a tin can.

The folks behind the device drew from wall plug-in nightlights and scented oil warming devices. The best part is that it’s great for bathrooms and kitchens since there are no cords to get in your way or fall into the sink and short-out your home’s sockets. It also doesn’t hurt that the WALdok has been designed with Apple fans in mind, though we’re digging the translucent casing over the white version.

But before you get too excited, the company is still looking for funding for their project on Kickstarter. So far they’ve raised $2,563 and are looking for another $27,000 to get their project underway.

There is an all new iPod Nano. Unlike previous iterations of the device is has a touchscreen and comes in an 8GB and 16GB version for $149 and $179 respectively. There is no home button, so to get to the home screen you simply hold down any where on the screen. Size wise it looks smaller than all previous iterations and does sport a smaller screen (1.54-inches vs 2.2-inches). Also expect an FM radio (with live pause up to 15 minutes), Genius, accelerometer, a built-in belt clip and a 24 hour battery life. Like the iPod Shuffle, the new Nano will now read to you what is on screen so you don’t have to look.

The all new iPod Nano with touchscreen will ship sometime next week.

Batteries, batteries, batteries. Why is it every where I turn these days someone, some where is announcing a new set of battery packs to charge your portable devices. I mean, isn’t this market saturated enough? Well, I guess that hasn’t stopped Hypermac, who last we saw intro a set of external batteries for charging your Apple laptop – now that’s something I can swallow.

Today the company introduced the HyperMac Nano, The Hypermac Micro and HyperMac Mini. They hold an 1800mAh, 3600mAh and 7200mAh worth of juice, respectively. All three models are encased in aluminum and are available in “Apple’s nine Nano colors (black, silver, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) plus a darker (iPhone) black color”. They also boasts some cool features like a magnetic base for holding their caps as well as built-in cords.

Check the ‘leap’ for the complete details

New Candy Colored Pocket-Sized HyperMac Battery Packs For iPhones, iPods And iPad At Macworld 2010.
10 Hot Colors, 3 Different Capacities, Batteries Never Looked So Sexy!
02.11.2010 – MACWORLD 2010 SAN FRANCISCO, California – Sanho Corporation (Booth #948), the company behind the award-winning HyperMac External MacBook Batteries, introduces the HyperMac Nano, HyperMac Micro and HyperMac Mini – three pocket-sized, lithium-ion battery packs for charging iPhones, iPods, iPads and other USB-powered devices on-the-go.
All three models are exquisitely encased in aluminum and available in any of Apple’s nine iPod nano colors (black, silver, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) plus a darker (iPhone) black color. Users will be spoilt for choice when choosing the right battery pack to match their iPhone or iPod.
The 1800mAh HyperMac Nano is the world’s only iPhone/iPod lithium-ion battery pack with a built-in charging cable and holds enough power to fully recharge an iPhone 1.5 times. Unlike traditional battery packs with built-in rigid connectors, the HyperMac Nano features a flexible connector cable to allow the battery to move freely from the device, instead of simply sticking out of the base of the iPhone/iPod, which increases the chance of damage to the iPhone/iPod socket.
When not in use, the male iPhone/iPod 30-pin connector sits perfectly into the female 30-pin recharging socket, and with the cap closed, the HyperMac Nano is a sleek piece of metal without any exposed slots or buttons, reminiscent of a Zippo cigarette lighter. The HyperMac Nano’s patented design also features a magnetic base to hold the cap in place during charging.
The 3600mAh HyperMac Micro holds enough power to fully charge an iPhone up to three times, while the 7200mAh HyperMac Mini can fully charge an iPhone up to six times. Both output 5V/1A power through a USB port and the user can charge any iPhone, iPod, iPad or USB-powered device with the provided iPhone/iPod and USB cables. The batteries are rechargeable via USB or wall outlet with the provided USB cable and AC adapter.
Unlike most iPhone battery packs or iPhone cases cum battery in the market, HyperMac batteries works with virtually all iPhone cases, does not add bulk or affects the antenna of the iPhone.
“iPhone users have long suffered from the iPhone’s short battery life and dull utilitarian plastic battery pack solutions,” states Daniel Chin, President of Sanho Corporation. “HyperMac will no doubt breathe a fresh air to this tired industry,” he adds. “With its striking colors and attractive non-battery-like looks, for once there will be a battery pack that appeals to both women and men alike,” he concludes.
Like its big brother, the HyperMac Nano/Micro/Mini batteries uses the same “Grade A” high-end lithium ion cells that are supplied to the U.S. military, providing unsurpassed reliability, safety and longevity. It is rechargeable up to 1,000 times and comes with a ONE-year warranty – comparing to industry standards of only 300 recharges and 3 months warranty. All HyperMac batteries also support pass through charging so the user can charge both battery and device at the same time.
The HyperMac Nano, HyperMac Micro and HyperMac Mini are now available at HyperMac.com for $69.95, $89.95 and $119.95 respectively. As a launch promotion, there is currently a $20 discount on all HyperMac Nano/Micro/Mini batteries.

Talk about forward thinking. Looking like one of those meat logs tied with twine (or my buddy’s arms), the Acoustiglove silicone iPod Nano case from Burton Technologies is a great new way to stow your Apple Earbuds.

As you can see, the cord is wrapped tightly around the case with both earbuds fitting tightly above like headlights on a Baja Buggy. Available in early 2010 for $20.

Scosche is selling them direct for $25 and has even tossed in a microfiber cleaning cloth.

It’s long been known that Apple would add cameras to their line of iPods. After all, it is the next evolutionary step for the portable media player, and we got wind of these rumors (here and here) sometime ago. Now, dozens of new iPod Nano and iPod Touch cases have emerged from the manufacturing plants in China lending more than enough credence to the long standing rumor to pretty much make them fact. Although some will be shocked by this news, I’m more in aw of the fact that Apple would let such new slip beyond their veil of secrecy.

That’s not who we are. That’s not why we’re here. We’ll let somebody do that, our goal is not to be the unit share leader in the phone industry. It is to build the best phone.” The remark was presumably made during Apple’s quarterly financial announcement. He also squashed the possibility, at least for now, that Apple will get into the Netbook game.

On a positive note, Apple reported a record quarterly profit of $1.6 billion on $10.17 billion in revenues.

There’s been a ton of Internet speculation as to whether or not the next gen iPod Nano will be a throw back to the original’s long and narrow body. This was further propelled when a case and images of the new Nano apperaed on line last week. Now iLounge got their hands on a few drawing that perhaps confirm that the new Nano’s dimensions in addition to a slightly fatter iPod Touch.

Come one, come all (actually, it’s limited to invite only)! Apple will hold a special event on September 9, 2008. The event has been tagged ‘Let Rock’, thus insinuating it’s music/iPod focused. The Net is flush with rumors of a new Nano in the works, but I think Apple is going to start their own music label and announce it here in tandem with the new Nano. Call me crazy, but I’m throwing out the guess.
