I didn’t see this one coming.  Apparently, there is a mini Nokia N97 floating around out there some where.  It’s possible that the smaller touchscreen, QWERTY phone was conceived at the same time as the N97 and just didn’t make it to market.  But since the N97 is a bit on the large side for some users (me, myself included) it’s not beyond reason to think a smaller version sans D-pad could be released.  Or someone just had some Photoshop fun.

Aside from a missing directional pad, the mini N97, also named the N00, has less storage (8GB) and a smaller screen.

If Heinz, yup, the ketchup maker has its way you’ll never leave the confines of your cubicle.  Measuring just just 7.4inches tall by 6.2in wide and 5.9in deep, this mini microwave – called the Beanzawave – can be powered off your computer’s USB port or optional lithium ion batteries.  I’m still convinced its a super belated April Fool’s joke, but all signs point to it being the real deal.  Unlike conventional microwave ovens, the Beanzawave uses a combination of mobile phone radio frequencies to heat the inserted food or liquid, which might explain its ability to be powered by USB.  The current prototype Beanzawave has a price tag of about $160, which prices it beyond most consuermers’ appetites for convenience, but like all things portable and mobile phone oriented the price is sure to drop with time.Similar Posts:

Feeding an addiction is usually a no-no, but perhaps exceptions should be made for the die hard fans of Guitar Hero.  The Riff Rocker is a portable – like pocket sized – Guitar Hero like devices that can travel with you any where you go.  To get in some axe grinding fun all you need is a computer with a USB port, an Internet connection to download the two games and whamo, you’ll be strumming your fix away.  Honestly, though, expect about 2 minutes of fun before you smash this fiddly piece of junk.

Would you look at that.  I just dropped a post about the Instinct Mini and Sprint goes and officially announces the handset.  So it looks like it won’t be named the Instinct Mini, but instead will take the moniker of ‘Instinct s30′.  Aside from a refreshed form factor from the original Instinct, the Instinct S30 offers the same haptic touchscreen action, a 2MP camera and a Speech to Action button that lets users activate a myriad of functions such as ‘text, picture messaging, traffic, movie, sports, news and search’.  Samsung has also conceded to the pressures of ‘open source’ and will provide access to core Java APIs which should allow creative developers to take advantage of all the handset has to offer.

Starting April 19th the Sprint Instinct S30 will be available online and in stores for $129.99 after a 2-year agreement and $100 mail-in-rebate.

Samsung has been pretty mum about their Instinct Mini, but that hasn’t stopped them from slipping out an early and albeit official image of the device.  I’ve heard through the grape vine that it will officially be called the Instinct Mini, but device names are all subject to change, especially in this day and age. Release date is unknown, but seeing at CTIA is kicking off this week I wouldn’t be surprised if we see this thing hit the spotlight any minute now.

The 4GB USB drive in the shape of EOS 5D Mark II with EF 24-105mm f/4L lens is like the perfect gift for the die hard photog.  Unless of course they’re a Canon hater.  Looks like the winning bid was a few dollars shy of $100.  Expensive for 4GB of storage, but we all know that’s not what you’re paying for.

Looks like all that Photoshop investigation debunking the rumored iMac Mini from a few weeks ago was a whole bunch of BS.  The real deal Mac Mini 2009 got official today and as originally depicted are five USB ports, Firewire 800, mini Display port and DVI. Inside you’ll find a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, the same NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics currently found in the Macbook, DVD burner and then you’re choice of 120GB HDD with 1GB of DDR3 RAM or 320GB hard drive with 2GB of RAM.

Both getups are available now for $599 and $799 respectively.

I’m just left wondering if the guy who leaked the images and video has been shipped off to an isolated room far from peering eyes?

Seriously, is there just no due diligence over at HP?  A few months back they let the cat out of the bag when they leaked images of the HP Mini 1000 on their shopping site via a promotional banner.  Today, it looks like they’ve slipped up again and posted support documents for an 1100 series, which includes 9 models (Mini 1110NR, Mini 1111NR, Mini 1120NR, Mini 1125NR, Mini 1130NR, Mini 1133CL, Mini 1135NR, Mini 1136NR and Mini 111NR), plus a Vivienne Tam edition.  Unfortunately, there’s really no details to go on.

Finished in the styling sof what MSI calls ‘Nordic Simple Style – I think they are trying to go Ikea simple – the Wind NetTop D130 harnesses the appearance of a bare bones PC, but includes a tiny bit more.  Under the hood is an Intel Atom 330 dual-core processor, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, DVD burner and 7.1 channel stereo surround output.  There’s no mention of its graphic capabilities, but the company claims it can handle ‘high-definition video of HD-class home theater and other high-load applications’, whatever that means.  Not a ton of good info to indulge in, but for those with a green obsession will enjoy the D130’s lower power consumption of just 35W at full power, which is apparently less than a regular light bulb.

The Dual Core Wind NetTop D130 has no official release date, but will run you about $250.

What’s better than an iPhone?  No, not a Blackberry Storm.  A mini iPhone of course!  An eBay seller is trying to pass this crap-gadget as a mini iPhone.  Bidding starts at $1000.  I’m guessing it’s a Photoshop job.

So the details are scarce, but Toshiba’s LED based handheld Pico projector got some light of day at Europe’s IFA 2008 this past week. What’s known at this time is that it’s 100 grams in weight (solid little sucker – that’s almost a quarter pound), measures 10 x 4.5 x 1.7 cm in size and puts out just 10 lumens of light.

We just saw 3m’s MPro110, so it will be interesting to see how all these mini projectors stack up when the proverbial dust settles.
