Another year, another LA Auto show. While we didn’t see anything that we hadn’t already seen online, we were able to score some photos of the latest and greatest cars in the flesh. Probably the most memorable of the show was BMW’s concept vehicles, the i3 and i8. There are also a few other notables, so take a gander at the below gallery and get up to speed on what you missed this past weekend.

Of note, don’t forget about the life sized Mario Karts.

Thank to V-Studios for hooking up the images.

That darn DJ equipment can be so back debilitating sometimes. No problem. The Pocket Sized MP3 Player Mixing Deck has you covered for your next gig. It works like a standard mixer and even allows you to preview your next track before mixing. Of course you’ll need two MP3 players for a smooth transition and a headphone jack will let you preview and listen to your work without being interrupted by drunk flusies.

ThinkGeek has it for $25.

The touchscreen smartphone ship sailed sometime ago for me – I’m an iPhone user – but for those of you that still havent’ signed onto a fingertip/stylus friendly handset, you might want to consider the small and friendly LG Mini GD880. Yesterday, the phone got fully officialy. From a spec standpoint here is what we know: 3.2-inch touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, 7.2mbps HDSPA, FM radio, 10.6mm frame, 99 gram weight and LG’s Air Sync service which presumambly keeps your contacts and more always up to date with your computer.

The LG Mini will roll out in Europe in March, but for how much is anyone’s guess.

LG Unveils The World’s First 3 Way Sync Feature Phone At MWC 2010

Seoul (Korea Newswire) February 16, 2010 — LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, has showcased its new LG Mini (LG GD880), the world`s first feature phone to support 3-Way Sync service, at the Mobile World Congress. The mobile trade show began on the 15th of February in the Spanish city of Barcelona and will run until the 18th.

Measuring 10.6mm in depth and weighing just 99g, the LG Mini boasts an array of superb features including LG’s 3-Way Sync service, called LG Air Sync. This next-generation mobile technology enables users to continually sync the data on their phones with information stored on their PCs and their browser history over a wireless network, ensuring that contents such as photos, video clips, calendars and phone books can be updated and accessed at all times. As the first feature phone to support LG Air Sync, a form of the cloud computing so far available only on smartphones, LG expects the LG Mini to generate considerable buzz on the market.

“We live in an information-oriented society with vast amounts of data and content scattered all over the place. Because of this, one of the major battles in the future mobile market is likely to be in the data management technology industry, focusing on seamless access among different devices,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “We have developed the LG Mini, which offers technological integration with its unique LG Air Sync service, in response to this trend.”

In keeping tabs on users’ personal preferences and information, the LG Air Sync works in three ways. First, through the History Sync function, the phone’s browser is updated with the 100 most recent websites users visited on their PC, allowing users to return to the exact webpage where they left off. Second, through the Personal Information Manager (PIM) Sync function, contact details and daily plans in the LG Mini can be transferred to user’s PC. Even when users lose or misplace their phone, any important data will be still accessible through their PC. Finally, with the R-Click function, pictures and information on users` PCs can be transferred instantly to the LG Mini, meaning any picture on a website can become the LG Mini`s wallpaper with just a simple click of the mouse.

The smallest and slimmest 3.2-inch full touchscreen phone on the market today, the LG Mini also comes with speedy web browsing and fast push email functions for even greater user convenience. Thanks to powerful SNS features, users can easily keep in touch with friends online via social network sites such as Facebook and Twitter while also getting constant updates of what their friends are up to.

With its tiny frame, the LG Mini also boasts a 5.0 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, FM radio and 7.2 Mbps HDSPA. The LG Mini will be available in Europe from March, followed by other markets.

Batteries, batteries, batteries. Why is it every where I turn these days someone, some where is announcing a new set of battery packs to charge your portable devices. I mean, isn’t this market saturated enough? Well, I guess that hasn’t stopped Hypermac, who last we saw intro a set of external batteries for charging your Apple laptop – now that’s something I can swallow.

Today the company introduced the HyperMac Nano, The Hypermac Micro and HyperMac Mini. They hold an 1800mAh, 3600mAh and 7200mAh worth of juice, respectively. All three models are encased in aluminum and are available in “Apple’s nine Nano colors (black, silver, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) plus a darker (iPhone) black color”. They also boasts some cool features like a magnetic base for holding their caps as well as built-in cords.

Check the ‘leap’ for the complete details

New Candy Colored Pocket-Sized HyperMac Battery Packs For iPhones, iPods And iPad At Macworld 2010.
10 Hot Colors, 3 Different Capacities, Batteries Never Looked So Sexy!
02.11.2010 – MACWORLD 2010 SAN FRANCISCO, California – Sanho Corporation (Booth #948), the company behind the award-winning HyperMac External MacBook Batteries, introduces the HyperMac Nano, HyperMac Micro and HyperMac Mini – three pocket-sized, lithium-ion battery packs for charging iPhones, iPods, iPads and other USB-powered devices on-the-go.
All three models are exquisitely encased in aluminum and available in any of Apple’s nine iPod nano colors (black, silver, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) plus a darker (iPhone) black color. Users will be spoilt for choice when choosing the right battery pack to match their iPhone or iPod.
The 1800mAh HyperMac Nano is the world’s only iPhone/iPod lithium-ion battery pack with a built-in charging cable and holds enough power to fully recharge an iPhone 1.5 times. Unlike traditional battery packs with built-in rigid connectors, the HyperMac Nano features a flexible connector cable to allow the battery to move freely from the device, instead of simply sticking out of the base of the iPhone/iPod, which increases the chance of damage to the iPhone/iPod socket.
When not in use, the male iPhone/iPod 30-pin connector sits perfectly into the female 30-pin recharging socket, and with the cap closed, the HyperMac Nano is a sleek piece of metal without any exposed slots or buttons, reminiscent of a Zippo cigarette lighter. The HyperMac Nano’s patented design also features a magnetic base to hold the cap in place during charging.
The 3600mAh HyperMac Micro holds enough power to fully charge an iPhone up to three times, while the 7200mAh HyperMac Mini can fully charge an iPhone up to six times. Both output 5V/1A power through a USB port and the user can charge any iPhone, iPod, iPad or USB-powered device with the provided iPhone/iPod and USB cables. The batteries are rechargeable via USB or wall outlet with the provided USB cable and AC adapter.
Unlike most iPhone battery packs or iPhone cases cum battery in the market, HyperMac batteries works with virtually all iPhone cases, does not add bulk or affects the antenna of the iPhone.
“iPhone users have long suffered from the iPhone’s short battery life and dull utilitarian plastic battery pack solutions,” states Daniel Chin, President of Sanho Corporation. “HyperMac will no doubt breathe a fresh air to this tired industry,” he adds. “With its striking colors and attractive non-battery-like looks, for once there will be a battery pack that appeals to both women and men alike,” he concludes.
Like its big brother, the HyperMac Nano/Micro/Mini batteries uses the same “Grade A” high-end lithium ion cells that are supplied to the U.S. military, providing unsurpassed reliability, safety and longevity. It is rechargeable up to 1,000 times and comes with a ONE-year warranty – comparing to industry standards of only 300 recharges and 3 months warranty. All HyperMac batteries also support pass through charging so the user can charge both battery and device at the same time.
The HyperMac Nano, HyperMac Micro and HyperMac Mini are now available at HyperMac.com for $69.95, $89.95 and $119.95 respectively. As a launch promotion, there is currently a $20 discount on all HyperMac Nano/Micro/Mini batteries.

I didn’t see this one coming. Apparently, there is a mini Nokia N97 floating around out there some where. It’s possible that the smaller touchscreen, QWERTY phone was conceived at the same time as the N97 and just didn’t make it to market. But since the N97 is a bit on the large side for some users (me, myself included) it’s not beyond reason to think a smaller version sans D-pad could be released. Or someone just had some Photoshop fun.

Aside from a missing directional pad, the mini N97, also named the N00, has less storage (8GB) and a smaller screen.

If Heinz, yup, the ketchup maker has its way you’ll never leave the confines of your cubicle. Measuring just just 7.4inches tall by 6.2in wide and 5.9in deep, this mini microwave – called the Beanzawave – can be powered off your computer’s USB port or optional lithium ion batteries. I’m still convinced its a super belated April Fool’s joke, but all signs point to it being the real deal. Unlike conventional microwave ovens, the Beanzawave uses a combination of mobile phone radio frequencies to heat the inserted food or liquid, which might explain its ability to be powered by USB. The current prototype Beanzawave has a price tag of about $160, which prices it beyond most consuermers’ appetites for convenience, but like all things portable and mobile phone oriented the price is sure to drop with time.

Feeding an addiction is usually a no-no, but perhaps exceptions should be made for the die hard fans of Guitar Hero. The Riff Rocker is a portable – like pocket sized – Guitar Hero like devices that can travel with you any where you go. To get in some axe grinding fun all you need is a computer with a USB port, an Internet connection to download the two games and whamo, you’ll be strumming your fix away. Honestly, though, expect about 2 minutes of fun before you smash this fiddly piece of junk.

Would you look at that. I just dropped a post about the Instinct Mini and Sprint goes and officially announces the handset. So it looks like it won’t be named the Instinct Mini, but instead will take the moniker of ‘Instinct s30′. Aside from a refreshed form factor from the original Instinct, the Instinct S30 offers the same haptic touchscreen action, a 2MP camera and a Speech to Action button that lets users activate a myriad of functions such as ‘text, picture messaging, traffic, movie, sports, news and search’. Samsung has also conceded to the pressures of ‘open source’ and will provide access to core Java APIs which should allow creative developers to take advantage of all the handset has to offer.

Starting April 19th the Sprint Instinct S30 will be available online and in stores for $129.99 after a 2-year agreement and $100 mail-in-rebate.

Samsung has been pretty mum about their Instinct Mini, but that hasn’t stopped them from slipping out an early and albeit official image of the device. I’ve heard through the grape vine that it will officially be called the Instinct Mini, but device names are all subject to change, especially in this day and age.
At 1/6 to scale of the original arcade hit, this mini Space Invaders arcade game is in fact a money bank for all your hard earned coinage. You can enjoy all the nostalgic sound effects each time you make a deposit, which, or at least for me, would be more than enough motive for me to save. Based on the translated site the Space Invaders game is completely playable, joystick and fire button included

Takes 2 AA batteries in will go on sale in Japan later this year for about $59 (5775 yen).

I had like two beers last night and woke up with a hangover. Totally unfounded if you ask me. And so are these pics of what is rumored to be a Samsung Instinct Mini (or Instinct 2). What the hell is up with ‘mini’? Mini isn’t necessarily better, but I guess when it comes to a pocket everybody is looking to fantasize about minimizaling. Not much more is know and my brain hurts.

Looks like all that Photoshop investigation debunking the rumored iMac Mini from a few weeks ago was a whole bunch of BS. The real deal Mac Mini 2009 got official today and as originally depicted are five USB ports, Firewire 800, mini Display port and DVI. Inside you’ll find a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, the same NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics currently found in the Macbook, DVD burner and then you’re choice of 120GB HDD with 1GB of DDR3 RAM or 320GB hard drive with 2GB of RAM.

Both getups are available now for $599 and $799 respectively.

I’m just left wondering if the guy who leaked the images and video has been shipped off to an isolated room far from peering eyes?
