eviGroup’s Wallet was supposed to be out in January, but that didn’t exactly pan out. Now, reports are coming in that the Wallet, their portable MID, is finaly shipping. The 5-inch device has a 800×480 resolution capacitive touchscreen and runs on Android 1.5. Specs include WiFi, 1GB storage w/ microSD support, integrated microphone and speaker, an 667MHz ARM processor, and an estimated six hours of battery life. A car mount and charger are also included, perfect for Google’s Maps application or listening to music on the go.

Dell CEO Michael Dell announced today at the Cytrix Synergy conference that the company’s upcoming MID, the Streak, will be arriving in Europe in June via cellular provider O2, and later this summer in America from AT&T. The Streak is a 5-inch touchscreen device with voice call functionality via UMTS/HPSA , a 5MP camera, and other smartphone features, all running on a customized version of the Android OS.

I haven’t paid much attention to WiBrains MID, the M1, but now that development has been announced my interest has officially been piqued.  Packed inside the device is a 4.8-inch touchscreen with a 1,024×600 resolution, some sort of rubberized keyboard, an Atom Z520 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 16GB SSD, a round touchpad, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G connection and either a Linux or Windows XP OS.

No word on a price or US release, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

Wooops.  Samsung slipped up today and showed off what is probably the first Wimax dedicated MID, the SWD-M100 Mondi.  Resembling the Nokia N810, the Mondi appears to have both a touchscreen and slide out keyboard – that should satisfy both ends of the spectrum – and a front facing camera for late night nefarious video chats.  Pontification appoints the Mondi to Clear’s Wimax network first, but no one really knows.
