By now you probably have a whole host of cables sitting in a junk drawer some where in your home. You can thank Sony, Apple, Samsung and many other electronic brands for this. In the last few years there has been a push to unify the charging cables that often are included with portable gadgets. The industry standard was supposed to be mini-USB, but if you’ve bought a camera or a battery pack for your smartphone then you know that is the furthest thing from the truth. And then there is Apple, which continues to use their own proprietary port, largely in the name of profits. So at the end of the day we’re left searching for the right cable amongst a see of cords to charge our devices.

Enter Innergie’s Magic Cable Trio. It doesn’t just boast 3 adapters for the aformentioned ports, but a unique and ingenious design that allows you to quickly, and easily attach which ever plug you need. And best of all you’ll never have to search for the adapter since they’re always attached thanks to a hinged design that rotates (or flips) the plugs you don’t need out of the way allowing you access to the ones you do.

It’s a no brainer for $19.99.

While the PowerBag is simply a bag with a rechargeable battery included in the $140 price tag it does include a set of gadget like pockets and USB cables directly integrated into its body. The bags are compatible with mini-USB, micro-USB and Apple 30-pin devices. So yeah, they’ve got pretty much got all portable devices covered. However, laptops and other power hungry devices can only be stored inside its padded compartments, since the 3000mAh or 6000mAh battery is probably only compatible with 5V devices.

The Powerbag will go on sale at major retailers sometime this October and we assume the $140 price tag is for the 3000mAh model. Alternatively, you could go buy a bag and aftermarket battery with the same capacity and create your own version for presumably less money, though you won’t get the same turn key solution.

The details are a bit skimp at this point, so perhaps they’ve got something in their bag of tricks that will give the Powerbag a bit more bang for its buck.

Before Apple popularized the MagSafe Power adapter, we’re pretty sure you and everyone we know destroyed at least one laptop power adapter running out the door to a last minute meeting. In fact, it’s kind of funny to see a laptop without this tech installed. And while the Powermat, and those products alike sort of resolved this issue when it comes to charging our portable gadgets, the bulkiness, at least in our opinion, is just too much of caveat to justify the convenience.

The Zip USB multi-charging station is effectively a MagSafe charging pad compatible with all micro-USB and mini-USB products. You just plug the compatible ZipTails into your smartphone and place it near the charging pad. And like that the magnetic connector is magically sucked into place and charging commences. Now we know what you’re thinking; “what’s the point?” Consider this: your charging your phone with a good old AC adapter when a call rings on your handset. Your natural response is to pick it up, and in turn you end up ripping, as in breaking, the the power connection. Honestly, how many of you have wonky micro-USB connections as a result of this? With the Zip USB the connection breaks free without damaging the charging port.

Joy Division, the maker of the Zip USB, says that no power loss occurs with their product. The pad has 2100mA, so it can charge up to 3 smartphones, or possibly more depending on their power demands.

Included in the starter kit, which costs $79.95, are one mini USB and two micro USB receivers. Unfortunately, they don’t currently sell an iPhone version, which is just a crying shame, but perhaps they didn’t want to incur the exuberant licensing fees and the possibility that the next iPhone will make their tech obsolete.

Update: HP just announced the HP Touchpad, the would be iPad killer.

These may look like photos of a delicious tablet, but they’re only renders. HP and Palm got together to build the Topaz webOS tablet, and someone working for them was kind enough to leak these images for the rest of the world. It’s just the way things work.

Topaz is the 9-inch model, while a smaller, 7-inch tablet was baptized Opal. They’re both adhering to a push for a no-button design, they have a front-facing camera, micro-USB port (I hate these) and a three-speaker layout that’s reminiscent of the Vizio tablet. Two speakers on the left side and one on the right, giving stereo audio in both landscape and portrait mode.

Both tablets should start shipping somewhere around September, with versions for WiFi only, 3G from AT&T, and Verizon LTE.

If you’re a big work traveler, you know it can often be tough to keep all those mobile devices in juice. In fact, just trying to find your chargers can be a task in itself, at least until the Charge4All Charge Folio came around.

It zips closed like a CD folder, but when you unzip it, you reveal five different kinds of device charger–iPhone / iPod, mini USB, micro USB, Samsung SCH and LG Chocolate.

Basically, it’s like an ultraportable power strip for mobile devices. You plug the folio into the wall, and plug your various devices into the folio.

It’s definitely a great idea for all those traveling folks, whether it’s work or pleasure that gets you on the open road. And at just under $50, you’ll have plenty of cash left for your travel expenses.
