My roommate is all about Mac Mini synergy. Rumor is going around that the next iteration of the Mac Mini will use a HDMI port instead of the legacy DVI input. While there is no official announcement in regards to this claim, the above picture has also been spotted.
An HDMI input would be might handy for those looking to use their Mac Mini’s with their HDTV’s and I’m sure many people are waiting for some creedence to this rumor so they can start saving for a new Mac Mini and finally get rid of cable TV box.
Do we like this rumor?

Who the hell knows what is going on. A few days ago we showed you a pic of what was rumored to be the ‘new’ next gen Mac Mini. Shortly after, Photoshop afficianados said the pics were fake after reviewing the hidden artifacts embedded in the pictures. Now, the same tipster – who says he was a ‘previous’ Apple employee and isn’t bound by an NDA – has leaked a video showing off the computer and all its tell tale ‘next gen’ Mac Mini qualities. I think someone just took a Mac Mini and modded it with the extra ports. Afterall, how would a exApple employee be able to shoot video or get one of these home. Thoughts? Video below.

According to the tipster, this is the back of the new Mac mini that has been, like forever rumored, totally. They say it rocks a 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 3MB L2 cache, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and a Super Drive. If you look closely at the pic Firewire 400 is absent in favor of 800, 5x USB ports and a few display ports. All we can do is hurry up and wait for more leaked pics or hope Apple sends out an invite for a press meetup in March.
Update: Turns out this this photo is probably a forgery.
