The Japanese company, Real-f, is offering a life-like photocopy of your face or head to hand on your wall. Sounds freaky, but, hey, some people like that sort of stuff. So the digital images are printed on to an image on vinyl chloride resin stretched over a mold and then shipped to you to display.

4. Floating Magnetic Lamp

The Light-Light looks like a normal light, but the top – or really the lip of the lamp – is wireless, which lights up and floats freely above the base unit due to a set of magnets and innovative engineering minds (the company is called Crealev). The lights are pretty pricey, which is what you’d expect from some next level lighting like this. The price tag starts at $1,300.

3. iTar: The iPad Guitar

But since I’m a nice guy, I’ll tell you to buy Khet 2.0, if gameplay doesn’t pan out for you, trimming your moustache by laser will forever be an option.

AT&T is again working with Pantech to bring you the aptly named slimmest phone in AT&T’s phone inventory, ever– the Pantech Laser. This thing AIN’T no retina scanning device.  In fact, it does something completely the opposite.  It’s a laser. The device, the Photonic Fence, comes from the folks at Intellectual Ventures Laboratory.  It tracks and kills mosquitos using a laser (enter Dr. Evil voice). But it doesn’t just kill any mosquito, it only kills the females, the blood suckers.

So why not just use some sort of chemical to eradicate the little beasts?  Chemicals are dangerous, cause cancer and kill off other wildlife.

Most might consider the need to operate a mouse on a glass surface a rather moot and gimmicky marketing feature, but not me.  I hate my mouse pad and feel like I have a doormat living on my desk.  I present to you the Logitech Performance MX mouse.  It uses a technology called Darkfield Laser Tracking technology, which I assure you won’t annihilate any humans but reflects the laser off the imperfections in the glass; one caveat though, the glass has to be at least 4mm thick.

Dvice got their hands on one and did a little video demo.  Although the video shows it clearly working, if you look closely there is a bit of juttering when the Performance MX mouse is being used on glass, leading me to believe that the tech is not 100% sound.
