For those of you out there harping on the iPhone for it’s lack of a physical keyboard, I think your day might of just arrived. Announced today, iTwinge will release a QWERTY keyboard adapter for the iPhone 3G(S) that will give you that down home assurance that the keys are actually there. Shipping on November 19th, the iTwinge keyboard adapter will cost $30.
It would be cool if it had a keychain adapter or lanyard attachment so you could keep it close because you obviously don’t need this all the time.

I really don’t know what to think about this one, folks–if you’re a die-hard Star Trek fan and you’re desperately trying to get rid of seventy bucks, consider the Klingon Keyboard.
No, seriously. Someone took what looks like a normal QWERTY keyboard, translated it all into Klingon and refaced the keys. Even better, it actually connects with a PS/2 cable, and when’s the last time you saw that?
So now you can type your letter to Grandma in an approximation of Klingon.
Why stop there? Hit on your cybercrushes in Klingon! Get in a flame war and insist loudly that Hab SoSlI’ Quch (his mother has a smooth forehead–apparently an actual Klingon insult. Oh, Google, what CAN’T you do?)
Better yet, for you more logical types, if the Klingon version sells well, the VULCAN version is next. I don’t know whether to be amazed or horrified. I like my Star Trek as much as the next guy, and really like my Next Gen and DS9, but come ON. A Klingon Keyboard? Might as well sell a Klingon key CHAIN.

Is it me or do all these approaches to the unconventional keyboard seemed flawed out the gate? I mean, the Versa’s modular keyboard idea is great but it’s far from practical when compared to the iPhone or Palm PRE. And Samsung’s latest patent filing is no exception to my aforementioned rule. It calls for a smartphone that like RedBull, gives your phone wings.
Well, okay the phone can’t fly but hidden on the back of the phone is a QWERTY keyboard that is divided in half onto two spring loaded and hinged wings. When not in use the user could simply fold them up for storage and use the touchscreen handset as normal. But here in lies the problem: the wings appear to be thin and wide, and based on some Newtonian physics would make for an awkward typing scenario; kind of like trying to hold a bowling ball with two Popsicle sticks. Perhaps a utility belt would provide a resolve, you know, to hold it up and all.

Looks like AT&T is getting a half assed touchscreen phone. Why the potty mouth. Well, the LG Neon’s got a touchscreen, but only for dialing calls. Hidden beneath its 80s inspired color pallet is a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out for the text and email crazy. Outside of that we’re talking 2.4-inch screen, quad band GSM, 2MP camera, GPRS/EDGE data connectivity, Bluetooth, media player, FM transmitter and microSD card slot.
No word on price or launch date.

Usually devices that receive updates are highly anticipated and garner a shit load of attention. Guess Samsung overlooked those two factors when producing the Samsung Propel Pro. Yup, it’s an updated and semi-refreshed version of the Propel we saw launch on AT&T in late November 2008. Updates includes an optical joystick (according to the tipster it’s crap) a slightly updated QWERTY keyboard, 3G connectivity and, well, that’s about it for now.
