Either April fools has come early or I drank my fair share of snake oil this Halloween, because the WOS (Wall Of Sound) Speaker is one bad ass looking iPod speaker dock system.   Stuffed inside this 102 kilo (225lbs) behemoth are 28 elements (I guess that includes the speakers as well) and a tube amp for pitch perfect sound.  It measure 3′ x 4′ x 1′ (HxWxD) and boasts a 40hz to 20,000khz (I think they mean 20,000hz)  frequency response.

The first iteration has sold out, but you can plunk down $4,495 to get in line for the next build.

I’ve been holding off on purchasing a Blu-ray player, but LG’s latest, the HB954TBW, has officially piqued my interest.  When it launches it will be horrendously expensive – $1,050 -  but the idea of having a slide out iPod dock built into a Blu-ray player might just get me to officially sign on to the ways of HD.  Unfortunately, a US or UK launch date is unknown at this point, but considering the adoption of all things iPod in the aforementioned countries, I’m confident the player will make ship outside of Korea sometime soon.

I have a hard time accepting that Onkyo, long time home theater equipment manufacturer, is building computers.  This time around they’ve got a few all in one PCs branded with the Sotec name.  Yes, that is an iPod dock that is either built-in to the keyboard or base of the 21.5-inch monitor, which puts out 1080p.  The newest model, the E702A9 is powered by a Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 processor, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, TV tuner, and 4x Blu-ray player.  There’s also a 1.3MP webcam, 2x 8W speakers and remote.

No word on a US release, but the Japanese can nab one for just over $1,800 (or you can opt for a lesser version as linked below).
