Robbing a bank takes not only a massive set of cojones, but a damn good disguise to trick the cops into thinking you’re someone your not.  Case in point, a few years ago Conrad Zdzierak, a white male, got his hands on the the The Player, a mask from SPFX Masks that transformed him into a black male.  Police had no idea who they were looking for, that is until he slipped up and forgot to remove a dye packet from his swindled loot.

Now, SPFX Masks is back with another awesomely convincing face changing apparatus called The Senior.  It’s a bit of an assumption, but based on the pics alone this might be their most convincing mask to date.

If you want one you’ll have to drop at least $810.  And that price doesn’t include eyebrows ($120) or hair ($500+).  For even more cash you can score facial hair as well as sleeves.

Halloween might be done and over with, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop watching horror flicks! Keep the scary and ghostly alive through November and catch the latest horror flicks that are streaming on Netflix. It’ll be like Halloween never ended! Just remember to leave a night light on ’cause some of these flicks will scare the living sh*t out of you!

A few years ago Iron Man was just a mere comic book hero.  Then Robert Downey Jr. stepped into the role and suddenly the character had become the talk of Tinseltown.  The movies we’re actually a bit of a disappointment since they were poorly directed, though Downey was easily the most readeeming factor in the whole saga.  And let’s not overlook the intro scenes of Iron Man 1, which were the most entertaining and captivating.  So, while movie one and two came and went – pending any Netflix streams that is – the Iron Man costumes continue to breathe additional life into the jet powered hero.  And what better time for a new version to arrive than a few weeks before Halloween.

The Steampunk Iron Man suit recently took the “best costume” award at the New York Comic Con.  Yes, they have a NYC Comic Con, but it can’t possibly be as epic as the San Diego version, right?  That aside, it turns out that the costume is in fact a reworked costume, from the movie “Heartless: The Story of the TinMan”.  However, the lead designer didn’t sanction the work and was completed behind his back by his ex-assistant.  Nonetheless, the costume received high praise from fans as well as Stan Lee and Jon Faveru.

Just found out that the Tin Man suit was taken and modified into an “Iron Man” suit that won the costume contest at the NY Comic Con by my ex assistant. The suit was changed without my knowledge or permission and I’m royally angered by this action. It’s also sad to see that the only screen used version of the suit that exists, is now a cheapened knock off of a popular character. I don’t get people anymore and it makes me want even more to become more reclusive.

Wishful thinking if you think you can buy this costume for your pooch.  It was custom made by Katie Mello.  Despite the added armor and weaponry the dog still has no confidence.

A Japanese company called Real-f has perfected a way to make a life like photocopy of your face or head, which you can then take home and hang on your wall.  We’re assuming Real-f stands for “really freaky.”

For $3,900 Real-f will scan your face and produce a mask that is accurate down to the individual pores and eye vasculature.  For an additional $2k they’ll also churn out a bust, though for additional copies the price drops significantly to $780 and $1,960 respectively – the scanning and digital mapping process is probably the most laborious and hence the most costly.

The digital images are printed on to an image on vinyl chloride resin stretched over a mold.  While the effect is relatively stunning, it does give us that creepy feeling analogous to that of “The Chainsaw Massacre” or “Silence of the Lambs” movies.

10.  Chewbacca Collector’s Edition Adult Costume

Unless your 7-feet tall you’re just not gonna live up to the real Chewy, but you can try with this ultra realistic and ultra expensive ($399.99) costume.  The body and suit are separate so you can take breathers, as are the gloves.  Included is Chewbacca’s sash and murse (man purse).  The reviews are bit mixed on this costume so buyer be ware.

We don’t know too much about this costume and we’re assuming you can’t buy it.  Then again strap on some latex and buy a Vader helmet and you’re in business.  Alls we know is that Darth Vader never looked so sexy.

This costume has all the fixings for a winner.  It includes Jumpsuit, Braids, Belt, Ammo Belt, Gloves, Jetpack, Mask/Helmet – you’ll have to get your own boots, which is lame considering the cost ($799.99).  But for that money you get the next best thing to the movie prop.  Piss of any ladies and you’ll be thankful since the suit has an armored cod piece.

4.  Stormtrooper Supreme Edition Adult Costume

Take your party to the next level with this costume.  Like the Boba Fett costume you’ll need to find your own boots, but they’ve tossed in the black jumpsuit that features molded armor pieces – chest, back, and lower back pieces, codpiece, belt, shoulder and bicep pieces, gauntlets, thigh, knee, and shin pieces.  They’ve also tossed in the gloves and the mas k. It’s a painful $799.99.

3.  Sexy Princess Leia Adult Costume

This thing is cheap at just $46.99.  But forget JT, Leia just brought sexy back…to the Halloween party.  How else do you think it made it into the number three spot?  You’ll get a dress, wig and belt.  Something tells me the women reading this won’t mind searching for their own boots to accompany this outfit.

2. Darth Vader Collector’s (Supreme) Edition Adult Costume

We couldn’t have a top 10 list of Star Wars costumes and not include Vader.  This costume has been available for years, but good things never get old…or is it die?  Like all Supreme Editions you’ll need to find your own boots, but the attention to detail in the mask, chest plate (it lights up) and suit is uncanny.  And rightfully so since it costs a cool $799.99

1. Home Made R2D2 Suit

This guy’s/costume takes the cake, or should we say all the candy.  The suit is made completely from scratch – he started with a garbage can – and is replete with LED lights, motorized wheels and R2D2 sound effects. Inside is a set of cooling fans, because even robots break a sweat. It’s probably safe to assume that this guy takes home the gold this year for the best, most awesome halloween costume.

SPFXMasks’ are unbelievably real.  In fact, they’re so real that they’ve been used in robberies, at least according to BoingBoing.  This is the “Handsome Guy” mask and putting aside the overly large head size, which is needed to fit a real human head, the attention to detail is amazing.  If you look closely you can see the mouth within the mouth.  For a sec we thought it might have been a PR stunt, but no, they’re real.  Price?  $650, though this one is probably just a prototype and might cost a ton more.  Right now their site is down due to slammed traffic, so hang tight.

Also, checkout this wolf costume.  I promise you’ll be impressed.

If you love you some Iron Man than you’re gonna love this full sized, fully licensed replica Arc Reactor.  Yup, it’s the exact same power cell that resides in Tony Stark’s chest, minus the actual power part of course.  Pop in 4 AA batteries to see it light up, or just leave it residing in the Pepper Potts stand for that on the mantel look.

ThinkGeek is looking for $150, but that might be justified seeing as it contains a set of ultra bright glowing LEDs and is made from machined aluminum, stainless steel, and custom molded plastic.  Or you can go with the cheapo, Halloween custome version for $8.

There it is.  My Halloween costume for next year.  The Iron Man chest plate hangs from your neck and measure 3.5″ in diameter and I’m guessing runs off a few triple or double A batteries.  It would probably look best stuffed under a white button up shirt.

Oh yes.  I’m going to a haunted corn maze on Friday or a maize maze for those of you who like multi-lingual wordplay, and if this remote controlled bat was part of the show I’d be impressed.

What a great idea!  This item will surely create some great scares.  Using some sort of motion detection technology this set of books slide around and make creepy noises when they sense a presence nearby.

Running off of 4 AA batteries, this animated bookshelf is definitely going to make for some hilarious YouTube videos.  At only $25 for the set, this is a great item to have around the house for the upcoming holiday season.

An idea for a future iteration could be a tiny webcam inside one of the books to capture scares from the books POV and then wirelessly send them to your computer for subsequent upload to your favorite social networking site.
