In our time we’ve seen some grandiose boats. And by boats we mean yachts, otherwise known as “stink pots” – the name is presumably derived from the grotesque amount of fuel they burn. But nothing, at least to date, compares to the M/Y Eclipse. This beast measures 538-feet long and was built for Roman Abramovich.

The shear size of this boat isn’t the only aspect of this floating home that makes it notable. All 24 of the guest cabins include their very own 6-foot movie screen. Say what?!? In addition to the guest cabin amenities, which better have walk in showers, heated floors and diamond encrusted mirrors – at least as far as we’re concerned – there are two swimming pools, a plethora of hot tubs, its very on discotheque, two helipads, a mini sub and three smaller boats that are probably anything but a dinghy.

The upkeep in the ship is an astounding $60 million a year, which sounds even too rich for those of a billionaire status. Fortunately, if the owner welches on his payments, there is long range radar to protect from an influx of missile attacks, anti-bugging devices and a bridge and master cabin that are finished in armor platting and bullet proof windows. Last but not least, a system looks for cameras (i.e. paparazzi) and directs a laser at them blinding the would be celebrity photographer from snapping a lurid pic.

Back to the Future 2 was full of empty promises. And by that we mean the Hover Board, which we hoped would some day actually get released by Matel. Instead it turns out that it was simply movie magic at its best. However, Marty McFly did make good and release a pair of those futuristic Nike Mag sneakers, though they fell short in terms of expectation since they weren’t self lacing. So the only way we see fit to satiate our need for all things futuristic is to buy one of these magnetic floating lamps.

The name leaves something to be desired, Light-light, but the tech is giving us a rather large bulge in our pants. While it looks like a normal light, the top, or tip of the lamps are completely wireless, light up and float freely above the base unit thanks to a set of magnets and the egineering genius of one Ger Jansen and a company called Crealev. They’re available available in two models, Silhouette and Eclipse, and incorporate LEDs, which are not only energy efficient but dimable to your mood

The Light-light was designed by Angela Jansen, a Design Academy Eindhoven graduate, and are available for $1,300 each.

I don’t know about you guys, but there isn’t too many times where my keyboard won’t suffice for whatever onscreen input I need to achieve. But if you’re the type of user that watches an endless array of media, does some serious accounting and needs websites or a variety of macros at the tip of your fingerprints than you’ll probably like Eclipse’s LiteTouch Keyboard.

What normally is a numeric keypad has been replaced with a touchscreen LCD that has three different screens: numeric pad, media control and macro control. The first two are relatively self explanatory where as the macro mode is a user assigned button mode for whatever shortcuts or websites you need to fire up in a jiffy.

Some of the other features include backlit keys and the option for a wired or wireless version. There’s no word on a price but you can expect it to arrive in stores this Spring.

The Eclipse touchmouse isn’t exactly what we’d call a game changer, but aesthetically in bring something different to the table. It’s finished in a brushed aluminum and sports Bluetooth connectivity. Instead of a physical scroll wheel they’ve opted for a touchscroll module that provides 4-way onscreen scrolling, a 1600dpi laser sensor and a built-in set of motion commands – called quicktouch – for opening a browser window, navigating back and more by simply touching the touchscroll and dragging the mouse in a direction.

The Eclipse Touchmouse will retail for $60 and is available now.
