Wall docks can be pretty convenient placed around the house or used for travel purposes. Today’s wall dock is from DLO and it sports a clutter free design compatible with the full range of iPods and iPhones.
Possibly looking pretty swank at your alpine lodge time share, the Maxell MXSP-D240 will hopefully be banging enough to get the party going as well. Available in white or black, the MXSP-D240 is Japan only right now and goes on sale at the end of the month.
The MXSP-D240 is compatible with most iPod models and comes with a remote control. Thanks to a balanced horn structure to radiate sound energy efficiently, this speaker dock could be worth looking into. With so many speaker docks to choose from these days it’s nice to see one that actually sticks out visually. Priced at around $112
In what appears to be a product I’ve never seen the likes of, the Sparkz Projector Dock is a fresh and pricey new addition to aftermarket iPhone accessories. The built-in pico projector accepts a variety of A/V and VGA inputs and is capable of displaying 640 x 480 resolutions at up to 60 inches. Snaps.
There’s also some little stereo speakers attached but I can’t imagine them doing much banging. The dock also charges your iPhone and it comes with a tri-pod. At a $495 price tag, early adopters will want to make sure this is a quality product. Maybe the video below will help.
What would probably look cooler in an actual booth at a Hard Rock Cafe than at your place, this cheapo “Limited Edition” iPod dock could make a decent gift idea for that certain nostalgia freak in your family.
At only $15, I can’t imagine the sound quality to be anything of value, but it is cheap enough to buy for your bathroom or walk-in closet. Especially if you like the included digital FM tuner. Also featuring a line-in for CD and MP3 players, it will also run off of 4 AA batteries or a wall plug.
Limited Edition always denotes a “Buy Now” type of attitude so don’t hesitate!
Finding the perfect iPod speaker system can be a daunting task at best. With so many choices to choose from and seemingly hundreds of new brands emerging all over the place, it can end up being quite the process. What most docks have forgotten however, is old media. While some of us may have totally abandoned CD’s, there are probably more than a handful of us that still use them here and there, depending on the scenario. I actually still use CD’s when taking a shower using and old CD player boombox I’ve had for over a decade stuffed on a shelf in my bathroom. …Continue reading: JVC UX-LP5 iPod/CD Player Stereo System Review
Sony is definitely telling me what time it is with this positively bodacious looking dock clock for the iPhone/iPod. Packed with some innovative features I desperately need a PR contact that deals with this product.
On the pricey side ($150), the ICF-CL75iP will totally have one night stands rubber-necking the morning after. Featuring a giant 7-inch 800×480 LCD screen, you can play movies (MP4, M-JPEG, and AVI files) and slide-show pictures from your phone or USB stick. It also has 1GB of internal memory for storage of the above mentioned material.
Beyond the normal AM/FM and iPod alarm functions, you can also program a 10-second voice recording to help you get out of bed. Whose voice would you use?
Not that I want to gripe about features, but it could have internet/WiFi connectivity for weather reports as well as a projected ceiling time display.
No word on release date but I’d love to get my hands on this thing.
Sony long resisted the reign of Apple and their iPod. Although they’ve been building compatible devices for sometime their latest system, the CMT-Z100iR screams of complete defeat. The pics above looks a little on the rendered side, but according to Sony Insider it’s the real deal. Aside from the obvious (i.e. the iPod/iPhone dock) the desktop stereo system boast what appears to be a slot loading CD player, clock, USB input and touch panel controls. I’d gander a guess and say it will come with a credit card sized remote. Output is said to be 20w x2 courtesy of an S-Master amp, which ain’t bad for a little desktop system. Sleek, svelte – nice job Sony.
Price has yet to be announced but SI pegs it at around $150 – $200. I’d say they ain’t far off, but I’d manage my expectations and go on the higher side.

Griffin, heeding the calls of many an army captain (KISS – keep is simple stupid), introduced the Simplifi Dock today. Quite simply, it’s a dock for your iPhone or iPod and includes a built-in Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, SD, SDHC, xD and CF card reader, 2 powered USB ports and what looks like an unmentioned mini Firewire port on its rear.
It ain’t simply that cheap, though. You’ll need to drop $70. Official Griffin Simplifi product page here
