BFG Updates Phobos Gaming Rig With Intel’s Core i7 950 and 975 Processors

BFG Tech updated their Phobos Advanced and Elite Editions Gaming/Home Theater System today by adding the Intel’s Core i7 950 and 975 processors, respectively.  Outside of that much of the massive gaming rig has remained the same, which includes an 8-inch touchscreen with 1 touch overclocking, in home concierge service and a built-in iPod/iPhone dock.  The updated Phobos rigs should be available shortly and start at $5,000.

BFG Tech Unveils High End ‘Phobos’ Gaming Computers With 8-inch Touchscreen LCD

I know what you’re thinking: another desktop computer. Well, you partially correct. BFG Technologies computers, called Phobos, are actually targeted towards the extreme ‘graduated’ gamer who doesn’t have time to assemble a rig of their own. Included in the hefty price tag is a Concierge Service that includes in home installation and a 6 month follow up maintenance visit. Now that’s service.

The machines can be outfitted with a variety of components, which include Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition 3.2GHz Processor, two upcoming BFG NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 Graphics Cards, and CoolItContained Liquid Cooling Solutions. The rigs are also outfitted with a slot loading Blu-ray player, iPhone/iPod dock, TV tuner, and DVR functionality. Accessing your media is simple as using the included RF remote or input the command on the optional 8-inch touchpanel screen.

Additional details will emerge here after January 8th, 2009. The Phobos machines will start at $3,000.
