In order to see the price you either need to log in to Buydig or make a new account there, but either way these savings do exist and considering what this beauty is capable of there’s no going wrong here!

9. Toshiba 46SL417U 46-Inch LCD TV – $700

Don’t miss this low price!

8. Archos Arnova 501732 10-Inch Tablet – $140

Amazon is offering an impressive deal on these Maxell 723443 LR6 AA Cell 48 Pack Box Batteries!

Now here’s a handy deal that should save some good money in the long run. AA batteries may seem to be antiquated by today’s standard of proprietary batteries you see in most portable devices but will never fail to be useful. They are still seen in remote controls of all sorts, many different Toys and RC-Controlled gadgets and of course game console controllers thrive on these little bad boys for power. Winter is coming and so are the holiday seasons and these will definitely see much more use in the coming months. Amazon is offering a special discount on this 48-Count box of AA batteries from Maxell and without even referring to complicated specifications we already see a name-brand and the fact they are AA and that’s a killer at this price. You won’t see this in your grocery store.

Need some AA batteries? Well, search no further. You can get these for $13.03, a 35% discount off the retail price. You can save more if you setup regular delivery and also receive free shipping. Alternatively, free S&H when your cart reaches $25, otherwise expect to pay about $5-6.

AA batteries aren’t going away anytime soon. You can thank digital cameras, a variety of toys, and Xbox 360 controllers for that. However, there are probably now more USB powered gadgets than their are standard battery powered toys on the market today. Making sure you’ve got a back up battery for each respective type can be a hair pulling experience.

Enter the Continuance battery concept. The form factor is that of a AA battery, allowing you to power your compatible gadgets. On the side, though, is a USB port, which presumably allows you to rejuice them and power up gadgets that only take a USB plug, such as the iPhone or any other smartphone on the market. You’ll inevitably need a number of them on hand since their mAh capacity should be rather limited, but 4-8 should probably suffice in most instance.

Again, this is a concept only, but they’ve got our vote to move ahead with production. We’re thinking Costco would be a good retail venue.

Although we have yet to officially review the Nintendo 3DS, we’re hearing (and reading) that the battery life totally blows. At best you’ll supposedly get about 3 hours of gaming out of the portable gaming console, where upon you’ll have to jack it back into the grid for a recharge.

However, Nyko will launch a replacement battery pack, called the Power Pak+, that purportedly doubles the battery life of the 3DS. It will retail for $19.99 on March 27th and a week later an accompanying charging base will hit shelves for $29.99. Until then you can use the 3DS’ AC adapter to juice up its cells.

Too good to be true? Sort of. It attaches to the rear of the 3DS with 4 screws, so you won’t be able to hot swap batteries at a gaming moments notice and it adds some girth to the handheld. A caveat we’re willing to accept for much needed gaming time on those long road trips.

MiLi’s latest battery pack for the iPhone 3G and 3Gs, the Power Skin, is black, simple and easy to use. It has an on/off switch and four LED lights to indicate its remaining charge. MiLi claims that it has 1200 mah, just 19 mAh short of the iPhone 3Gs’ battery. During my testing, with WiFi and Edge connectivity turned on, I was able to recharge my iPhone to just 75% of its available capacity. In the past we’ve tested MiLi’s other products and found some variability in the output. Keep in mind it all depends on how much your taxing your phone’s battery, but 75% seems a bit weak, especially with a claim of 1200 mAh.

Battery juice issues aside the MiLi’s battery packs form factor is relatively slender and includes a complete case that protects the back and outer edges of the phone. It’s not shockingly thin and won’t wow you over their other iteration or other battery packs on the market. Included in the box is what MiLi is calling the world’s smallest iPhone plug, the Pocketpal, and we’d have to agree.

The Mili Powerskin and Pocketpal can be bought separately for $70 and $20, or together for a special price of $80.

Amazon has the case for just $37.

Pros:

Slender and well built

LED light show juice remaining

On/off switch

Cons:

Only charged 3Gs 75%

Case doesn’t protect screen

Any where you look you can find some form of energy. These batteries from Brother can be physically shook to be recharged. Hard to believe I know. It’s not clear how much energy can be produced by physically rattling the batteries, but our guess is that the ratio is rather low, as is the case for most green tech, such as solar cells.

The official name is Vibration-powered Generating Batteries and they probably won’t be commercially available for a long time. The good news is that they’ll come in the same standard batteries sized we know and loathe, AA or AAA. Brother says they’re designed for products that consume 100mW or less, such as a TV remote control.

The batteries juice up by using an electromagnetic induction generator and an electric double layer capacitor. All said and done it’s probably similar tech to those watches or flash lights that power themselves by the motion of your body. Not new tech, but a new application.

Today, it seems inevitable that batteries inside of portable products will blow up or catch on fire. Sure, the majority of them will be fine, but with massive product appeal odds are that something is bound happen. Case in point is the iPhone 4.

An AT&T store employee says that a customer brought this iPhone 4 in after connecting it to a computer for charging (or perhaps syncing). As you can see the 30-pin dock connector caught fire, melted the cord and chard the outer part of the phone.

So is this a cause for concern? Not yet. This is the first report of an iPhone 4 catching fire and hopefully it’s an isolated incident. With that said, always be conscience of where and when you charge your gadgets, as you should be with an electrical appliance.

When more and more gadgets went from AA & AAA batteries to rechargeable non-replaceable ones, I thought my days of frustration and yelling were over. That wasn’t the case, though, since plenty of wireless mice and other gadgets still use replaceable batteries to power themselves. Besides having to go out and buy the darn things, putting the batteries in correctly when the device doesn’t do a good job of explaining how is a major frustration. Microsoft’s new “Instaload” tech hopes to eliminate that, with “allows users to easily install a battery without regard to positive and negative polarity.” Wow, it’s idiot-proof! Welcome to the future, folks. No word yet on when it’s arriving, but companies like Duracell are utilizing it, so it should be big, real soon.

Mophie hit the market as an innovator, but now it would seem that they’ve been relegated to producing run of the mill battery packs. Today, the company announced the juice pack reserve, boost and power station. I can’t find a picture or details of the power station, but it’s presumably the most powerful of the three, while the juice includes 1000mAh of power and the boost 1,500mAh. Each battery features a retractable pin, LED indicator lights and an LED flashlight. All three are compatible with the iPhone and iPod, where as the power station will also work with the iPad.

June 23, 2010 02:48 PM Eastern Daylight Time
LOS ANGELES–(EON: Enhanced Online News)–mophie announces three new additions to its award-winning accessory line – the juice pack universal reserve, boost and power station. The sleek external batteries, with a retractable pin, are compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, meaning that Apple aficionados with multiple mobile devices need to look no further than mophie to add extra “juice.”

“In addition to new ways to keep the iPhone and iPod touch charged, we’re excited to enter the iPad accessory territory with the introduction of the power station.”
The mophie juice pack reserve will be available immediately, with the boost and power station arriving shortly thereafter. All of the quick charge units feature LED status indicators, and the reserve and boost feature LED flashlights. The reserve and boost chargers will work with all iPhone and iPod touch form factors, and the portability of those units means it’s now easier than ever to access extra power while on the go. The power station, in addition to working with the iPhone and iPod touch, is iPad compatible, and marks mophie’s first foray into accessories for the popular new device.

“We strive to continuously offer our customers new and convenient ways to harness additional, portable power, and the universal line is a natural progression beyond our juice pack case offering,” says Ross Howe, sales and product development director of mophie. “In addition to new ways to keep the iPhone and iPod touch charged, we’re excited to enter the iPad accessory territory with the introduction of the power station.”

Key to the universal line development was the inclusion of fast, powerful charging currents. mophie’s next generation iPhone accessories incorporate the latest advancements in portable power; the mophie reserve and mophie boost units integrate these developments to charge iPods and iPhones, while the mophie power station can charge iPods, iPhones and iPads.

In keeping with mophie’s minimal design aesthetic and non-invasive accessory philosophy, the modern, luxurious soft touch cases are available in a black/silver color combination. The cases are designed to enhance and work with each mobile device, rather than add extra, unnecessary bulk.

All members of the juice pack universal line will be available in Apple stores, and at www.apple.com or http://www.mophie.com; the reserve retails for $39.95, the boost for $59.95 and the power station for $99.95.
Orange UK has once again partnered with GotWind to develop yet another conceptual product that will probably never see the light of day. The Orange Power Wellies can charge up your gadgets thanks to a built-in battery and some new fangled tech that can convert temperature changes into power. So when your feet go from warm to hot, or cold to warm the battery receives a charge. But much like many of their previous products these Wellies are highly inefficient. Even after 12 hours of romp stomping you’ll get only an hour of juice. But hey if you’re lost in the wood you’re probably doing some serious sweating.
