While we’re still huge fan’s of Apple’s all-in-one desktop computer, the iMac, we can’t help but champion Acer’s latest and greatest in the same category, the Aspire Z5761.
For about 1300 smackers, you’ll get a 23-inch full HD display, your choice of a second gen Intel Core i5-2400s, Core i5-2500s, or Core i7-2600s, up to 1.5TB of storage, NVIDIA GeForce GT440, GT435M, or GT420 graphics and the option to add a hybrid TV tuner. There is of course WiFi b/g/n, Gigabit Ethernet, both of which should suffice for streaming movies and other content over the Net, provided of course you don’t opt for the Blu-ray player for a full hi-def experience, though they’re not mutually exclusive. Rounding things out are 8 USB 2.0 ports (sadly no 3.0), Bluetooth 2.1 and Acer’s Clear.fi tech that connects you with compatible Acer devices without the need for wires.
The Aspire Z5761 is set to hit UK shelves in May, but we can probably expect it State side around the same time.

London, 6th April 2011 – Acer introduces the new Acer Aspire Z5761: combining great performance, excellent entertainment and stylish modern design, this all-in-one desktop heralds next generation computing.
Thanks to the screen with multi-touch functionality, the Aspire Z5761 not only offers a dynamic user experience, but also delivers one of the easiest ways of interacting with your PC and integrating all your multimedia contents. Starting point for this smarter way to access the PC and the web, the Acer TouchPortal provides a truly hands-on experience bringing together a full suite of touch enhanced applications and gadgets for fun and entertainment:
- TouchBrowser is a touch-friendly web browser designed for searching, retrieving and presenting information from the Internet.
- TouchCam features handy touch controls to add fun video effects while chatting online, or do theme-style recording and share with friends on YouTube™.
- TouchMusic, lets you browse, manage and play your favourite music.
- TouchPhoto integrates photo management with photo sharing capabilities and is designed to interact with both local images and online albums.
- TouchVideo includes video management and sharing features. It allows you to enjoy Blu-ray or DVD movies and home videos, as well as browse and share your videos to YouTube.
But the Acer TouchPortal is not the only way the Aspire Z5761 brings your digital life together. It also comes with Clear.fi, Acer’s new media sharing system based on the idea that it’s easier if all multimedia content is simply brought into a single system with a common interface. No matter where they are. Clear.fi is a cross-platform solution that works straight out of the box, automatically detecting the Clear.fi-enabled devices connected to the wireless home network, and then allowing all digital content stored on any of these to be shared seamlessly using the Clear.fi media interface.
Featuring a modern, minimalist design, the Aspire Z5761 easily fits into any décor, gracing any living or working space with a sophisticated look and feel. Sharp-cut geometric lines set off the combination of aluminum with matt and glossy black surfaces, creating a luxurious effect. Cool blue lighting placed above the integrated speakers lights up the keyboard. When not in use the keyboard can be nicely tucked away below the PC, enhancing the overall minimalist look as well as increasing the free area in front of the desktop. Inspired by modern art, the silver stand is designed with a window for organizing cables while keeping a simple, yet stylish design.
Performance-wise, this is an advanced PC, rich of cutting edge technologies engineered to convey an enhanced computing experience. Exploiting the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processor family, that features Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, capable of increasing perfomance in response to the most demanding tasks such as editing multimedia files, or playing fast-paced games, this desktop can deliver optimal speed enabling smoother multitasking and ensuring maximised entertainment and productivity. What’s more it combines turbo-charged computing power with energy efficiency.
Top-quality visual and audio components make the most of your entertainment. With a spacious 58.4 cm (23″) Full HD 1080p 16:9 display, fast 5ms response and powerful graphics solutions, you will catch even the tiniest details of your favourite movies, games, pictures, and digital TV thanks to ultra-sharp and colorful imagery. Captivating and immersive audio is brought about by an integrated 5W stereo speaker system and professionally tuned Dolby® Home Theater® v4.
With a Blu-ray Disc™ optical drive (optional), multi-in-one card reader, and TV-tuner (optional) these models bring together all facets of your digital life, from movies to games, from TV to pictures: an all-in-one design also in terms of entertainment.
Full connectivity is ensured by the most advanced wireless and wired technologies: 802.11b/g/n network connection, Gigabit LAN and optional built-in Bluetooth® 2.1. The built-in microphone and high definition webcam will help you keep in touch with friends and family through video chats and conference.
In terms of storage, up to 1.5TB of capacity offers plenty of space for all your digital archives. Up to 8GB of DDR3 memory ensure seamless running of the most demanding application, while a total of eight USB port supplies handy connection to all your peripherals.
The Aspire Z5761 will be available in early May with prices starting from £799 including VAT.

HP showed off new and updated entries in its desktop line today, most notably the slickly designed All-in-One 200 whose components are all inside the display, ala the iMac. The 21.5-inch device features a 1080p, LED backlit display, which can swivel independently of its base. Starting specs include a 500GB HDD, dual-core 2.7GHz Pentium, 4GB RAM, and Intel graphics.

Meanwhile, the 23-inch, 1080p Touchsmart 600t has been upgraded from a Core 2 Duo chip to either a 2.12 Ghz Core i3 or a 2.26GHz Core i5, and the included Beats Audio speakers should impress. Also included is 4GB RAM, a 1TB HDD, and Intel graphics. You can also upgrade the processor to the Core i3, i5, or i7, if that’s your thing.

Yesterday Lenovo kicked out an a new All In One desktop computer designed for small businesses, the ThinkCentre A70z. While it’s a far from an exciting piece of kit, the $499 price tag should appeal to those on a tight budget.

Specs for the AIO machine include your choice of Intel Celeron or Core 2 Duo processors, a 19-inch display, up to 500GB of storage, optional WiFi and a webcam.

Expect the A70z to ship at the end of this month.

Lenovo Introduces its First ThinkCentre All-in-One Desktop PC for Business
Combines Style, High Performance and Extreme Affordability

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – November 2, 2009: Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today reshaped its ThinkCentre business desktop line by introducing its first all-in-one (AIO) desktop PC – the ThinkCentre A70z. Built for the needs of small and medium businesses (SMB) all the way up to large corporations, the AIO delivers a compelling alternative to the traditional desktop PC, starting at just $499. Despite the budget-friendly price tag, the high performance all in one comes with Intel Core2Duo processors and delivers blazing fast boot up time as one of Lenovo’s Enhanced Experience certified PCs. The ThinkCentre A70z saves 70 percent more space, takes less time to set up and service and consumes less power than traditional desktops1. At the same time, the AIO adds a new touch of style and sophistication for today’s modern office.

Lenovo today also introduced the ThinkCentre A58e tower desktop, bringing SMBs an affordable and reliable computing solution.

“We’ve heard from a number of IT managers in a variety of industries, from education, to finance to healthcare, and they’ve all told us they need desktops that conserve space, save on energy consumption and are easy to maintain and service,” said Dilip Bhatia, worldwide desktop marketing, Lenovo. “The new ThinkCentre A70z exceeds these needs – not only is it compact, super energy efficient and quick to service, but it’s also high performance and extremely affordable.”

Reshaping of Desktop Market
According to IDC, the commercial all-in-one PC segment is projected to grow 16 percent year to year worldwide in 2010 with most of the desktop market consisting of small to medium business, small office/home office users and consumers.2 This trend fits into the growing SMB PC market, which is forecasted to grow to more than 99 million PCs in 20113.

ThinkCentre A70z Saves Space, Time and Money
The compact ThinkCentre A70z includes a 19 inch, 16:10 Widescreen LCD monitor packed into a 2.4 inch4 black frame that complements just about any office environment. On a desk, the AIO takes up 70 percent less space than a traditional desktop and monitor5. It can also be mounted flush against an office wall, supported with a radial stand or rested against a leg stand similar to how a picture frame works. The AIO’s single power cable6 helps eliminate unsightly cable clutter that plagues office desk space, and the built-in handle on the back of the monitor makes transporting easy.

Saving on space doesn’t mean skimping on performance though. The AIO features:

Choices of Intel Core2 Duo through Celeron Dual Core processors for demanding performance
Direct X10 support for enhanced games and high-end 3-D applications
A DVD drive, six USB ports, two audio speakers and optional Wifi
An optional high resolution webcam and built-in Skype application for voice over Internet protocol web calling with friends and colleagues
Support for up to 500GB of data storage for lots of photos, music and work files
