There’s no way in hell you’d ever get me to drop $141,000 on a watch, but that’s exactly how much Cabestan is asking for their Nostromo watch.  I’m no watch maker, so I’m a bit stretched to tell you what the hell is going on here, but I can guarantee the excessive presence of opulence.

What sounds really neat is the nocturnal transformation.  And don’t confuse that phrase with adolescent teen boys.  The Nostromo watch is discretely covered with a black phosphorescent coating that will illuminate the mechanisms with a subtle yellow-green glow of light that is said to flow around the wheels, bridges, drums and drive shafts.  All this and a rubber band. Yeah, rubber…seriously.

While Mac’s may never be truly considered a formidable gaming platform, news from the Games Developers Conference has delivered word the gaming peripheral powerhouse Razer will make more than a concerted effort to support Mac gaming.

Making good on that statement, Razer today has issued a Mac driver for the Naga MMO gaming mouse.  So as it stands, all new Razer products will feature Mac drivers and throughout 2010 they will be updating existing products to be Mac compatible.

I’ve always liked Razer products but have owned a Mac, so it’s nice to see the support finally being initiated.

Within the past 50 years watches are pretty much all created equal when it comes to maintaining accurate time.  So hence the endeavor by a wide array of manufacturers to produce not only more opulent time pieces, but ones that present and tell the time in a unique fashion.

Watch design is always a good post.  Today’s cool watch idea comes from Jihun Yeom and uses colored lasers to display the current time.  The red laser denotes minutes and the blue one shows hours.  This would be useful as a pair of goggles too.

Today’s tech news has been straight bludgeoned by the newly announced Apple iPad.  We are dying to touch one and have been brainstorming accessory ideas all day.  Beyond the obvious drawbacks (no DSi style cameras, flash, etc.), the iPad will still be an awesome Apple product.

At this time there has yet to be a ton of accessories announced besides the keyboard dock and the Kickstand Sleeve (pictured).  Looking a bit precarious, the Keyboard Dock is for those used to the physical desktop model keystroke and don’t want the added fuss of the touch screen keyboard.  Isn’t that the point?

The Kickstand Sleeve, which will soon see a million variations soon enough, allows access to all the controls while posing the iPad in a couple of key postures.  It looks like a modern day Trapper Keeper Slim to me.

Any ideas for future iPad accessories?

Here’s mine:

• A double sided suction cup attachment so you can spin your iPad like a basketball or frisbee
• A leather “Hangover” or “Indiana Jones” licensed man purse or satchel
• Car mount (obviously)

If you’re having trouble keeping your vehicle on the road, in any one of the many iPhone driving games on the market that is, then you might be pleased to see Posimotion’s latest iPhone accessory, the Helix.  It boasts a set of soft grip looking handles that are compatible with the iPhone 3G, 3Gs and iPod Touch 2G and work in both landscape and portrait mode.  Posimotion seems to think that it’s suited for just about any game, but I literally think that might be a bit of a stretch, if you catch my drift.  You can pereorder the Posimotion Helix for $20 and expect delivery sometime this Spring.

Interesting that this would come out so late in the PSP’s life cycle.  Ireland based RealView Innovations “V-Screen” is a sort of 3-D enhancing magnifying glass.  Looking like it might be fun to try, I am wondering how it would work in different types of lighting scenarios.  Obviously this would require you to carry around more gear with your PSP but I don’t think I’d mind if the visuals were that vastly improved.  No word on release date or pricing.

Talk about a great gift for anyone who loves booze and or The Simpsons.  Even if you never use the stuff it would look great as a display and would sure recieve cool comments from your friends.  Each shot glass displays Homer making some type of drunk grimace and the flask expresses the power of alochol.  Very nice.  On sale now for $24.

Nothing really to dislike about the Balanzza.  It works great out of the box and requires no learning whatsoever.  Super cheap, this is a must buy for anyone who does a fair amount of traveling and is always acquiring more stuff as they go.  Short review, but totally positive!

Thrustmaster intro’d two new products yesterday for the Nintendo DS: T-Strap Charger and T-Standee Charger.  The T-Strap doubles as a strap for carrying the portable gaming system as well as a USB charger.  The T-Standee is a stand that can display the Nintendo DS in a landscape or portrait orientation and includes an AC charger.  Cost for the DS accessories are $8 and $13, respectively.  The Strap is available now while the Standee will launch sometime in mid June.

Call it fake all you want, but the Xbox 360 fishing pole is the real deal, at least according to Unscripted360. It’s set to launch with The Hunt and The Strike video game, which features ‘realistic lake bottom topography, advanced graphics, life-like fish behaviors, fully customizable characters and an abundance of boats, lures, rods and reels’.  Expect it to launch this fall and include the aforementioned game for $70.

Nintendo officially announced pricing and a release date for their Wii Motionplus add on today. It will hit stores on June 8th and cost $19.99.  Or you can wait until July 26th when the second of installment of of Wii Sports goes on sale, Sports Resort, which comes bundled with the device for a grand total of $49.99.

Reportedly the Wii Motionplus increases the controller’s motion sensitivity to a 1:1 scale, which means not only more accuracy but a more realistic gaming experience.  If you’ve ever played the original Wii Sports title then you know what I’m talking about.
