There is still no word on a release date, but T-Mobile dropped word yesterday that the G-Slate, from LG, will land sometime soon for the price of $529.99 on contract after a $100-mail-in-rebate.

The G-Slate will be one of the few tablets that can display 3D content directly on the device as well as capture it thanks to dual 5-megapixel cameras.  Other specs include an 8.9-inch HD touchscreen, 4G connectivity with WiFi, Android 3.0, 32GB of storage, a front facing camera and a 1Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor.

Expect a release date to be announced any day now.

At this point in the game the HP Slate is sort of old news.  And just when we thought the tablet device was dead in the water, HP goes and officially announces the product.  We’re not sure on the exact launch date and they won’t tell us when review units will be available, but we do know it will cost $799 and include the following specs:

• 2GB of RAM
• 64GB of flash storage
• Broadcom’s Crystal HD accelerator
• HDMI output on the included dock
• USB port
• Ctrl+Alt+Delete button (in case the device freezes)

The tablet device will run a full copy of Windows 7 Home Premium and work with a Wacom stylus for taking notes or performing doodles in paint.  The stylus is not included, but word is that it’s worth the extra cash since it makes note taking a less painful experience.  The back of the device is finished in rubber, which should definitely give it a more rugged feel.  Tipping the scales at 1.5lbs is nothing to sneer at either.

Apparently, HP has flipped targets and is now gearing this towards the biz market, but that won’t stop anyone from purchasing the device.

Archos announced a slew of new products yesterday, and one of them, which we failed to cover, was the Archos 9 Internet tablet.  It measures just 16mm thin and includes an 80-120GB HDD, Intel ATOM Z515 processor, WiFi, 8.9-inch 1024×600 touchscreen, 2 antennas to receive DVBT TV, webcam, Bluetooth and a 3 hour rechargeable battery.  Unfortunately, it runs Windows 7 which will probably prove to be taxing on a device of this size – I’d want a custom UI to do the basics.  We’re hearing that it will launch for about €500 ($700 US), but nothing is set in stone at this point.  Check the video after the ‘leap’.
