<p>I don&#8217;t know what the performance implications of a 20,000 rpm hard drive are, but I&#8217;m assuming quicker read/write times assuming buffering, cache and all that techie stuff is up to snuff.  <a href="http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/06/06/western-digital-working-on-20-000-rpm-raptor/1">Bi-tech</a> didn&#8217;t have a ton of details and no release date as of yet, but the 20,000 spinner is housed in a 3.5-inch case and is reported to run silent.</p>
