Critics praised the BenQ EX2780Q’s refresh rate, color, speakers, HDR, and FreeSync. They agreed it works well as both an office and gaming monitor. It’s held back by poor black uniformity, a lousy stand, and a poor port selection.

Product Snapshot

Overview

The BenQ EX2780Q is the brand’s mid-level model released in 2019. It promises to deliver better color accuracy than other mid-level models thanks to its excellent coverage of the sRGB color space. It’s also easier to control than its competitor, the Gigabyte Aorus FI27Q, because of the included remote control. It’s an excellent monitor for those working on a variety of multimedia projects. In addition, the BenQ EX2780Q has excellent SDR peak brightness, a large screen size, and powerful speakers. Consensus

our Verdict

The BenQ EX2780Q has a great refresh rate, color depth, and speakers, plus good HDR performance and FreeSync. It’s a great choice if you want a monitor for both office and gaming. But it has poor black uniformity, a bad stand, and limited port selection. If you’re looking for professional color accuracy and aesthetics, the Asus ZenScreen Touch (MB16AMT) is a great alternative.
