If it’s been awhile since you’ve seen Donald Duck casting a thunder spell on Ursula from The Little Mermaid, it’s probably because there hasn’t been a proper Kingdom Hearts title released since 2005. Sure, there was Birth by Sleep, Re:coded, Dream Drop Distance, 358/2, and probably a couple of spin-offs I’m forgetting, but c’mon: I’m talking about a main entry in the series.

Thankfully, that’s all about to change. Square Enix has officially announced Kingdom Hearts III, and it’s coming to both PS4 and Xbox One. This will be the first time that Sora and friends have made an appearance on a Microsoft console, so I guess that’s pretty exciting. There’s no release date yet, and not much in the way of gameplay footage. Cheer up, though, you can watch the announcement trailer below:
