Ok, maybe that’s an over reaction, because people kill people, not guns, knives, cars, etc. But this knife is a bit on the egregious side. Embedded in the handle of the WASP knife is small compressed air tank. When the prey is stabbed the gas is released into the prey causing all sorts of internal damage to occur. The site says it will cause the prey to float to the surface in an underwater attack, but I’m guessing it inflicts a greater level of carnage.

Cow methane (aka cow farts) causes global warming. Yup, believe it or not, we’ve got enough cows roaming the earth to have a hand in the green house effect. Looks like someone is finally getting on board, at least in Argentina. Scientists there have fitted cows with plastic backpacks to not capture and reuse the methane but to study the affects of different feed has on the cows noxious output. I still think reusing the gas to power farm equipment, etc, would be uber cool.
Insert double take here. This thing is all ‘art’. Actually, it really does take photos and poop them out. It also posts the photos to its Flickr page via built-in WiFi. It’s officially called ‘Charlie. Camerautomata’ and built by Taeyoon Choin. He’s made up of camera, printer, and Roomba parts.

This Dynamic Tower design allows each apartment, ranging in price from $3 - $36 million, to rotate a full 360 degrees in one to three hours. The building is also designed to be self sustaining by utilizing 79 embedded power generating wind turbines. The project is expected to cost over $700 million and be completed in 2010.

I don’t know how they do it, but some how these publications are able to determine ‘best movie of the year’ just months into the year and now they’ve already compiled a list of ‘The 100 Best Products of the Year’. What the hell is a Telectroscope? It’s like a telescope only it’s not. In fact, the Telectroscope dates back the 19th century, or does it? Ok, I’ll come clean. The Telectroscope is in fact a work of art by Paul St. George. The whole thing is in fact a wives tale when a reporter back in the day misheard ‘electroscope’, a device used to measure electrical current. The Telectroscope was rumored to be a ‘far-seeing invention that worked on a telegraph of wire’. Although there aren’t any wires - in fact it works on a fiber optic network - attendees (you can make an appointment here) can see a life sized view of the London Thames from New York’s Brooklyn bridge and vice versa, in real time - no audio, though. The project cost $787,000 and was underwritten by the British government and private sponsorship. The installation goes live any day now and will last until June 15th.
