A Japanese company called Real-f has perfected a way to make a life like photocopy of your face or head, which you can then take home and hang on your wall.  We’re assuming Real-f stands for “really freaky.”

For $3,900 Real-f will scan your face and produce a mask that is accurate down to the individual pores and eye vasculature.  For an additional $2k they’ll also churn out a bust, though for additional copies the price drops significantly to $780 and $1,960 respectively – the scanning and digital mapping process is probably the most laborious and hence the most costly.

With Comic-Con going down this weekend in San Diego, CA, we thought we’d spice it up a bit and devote a post to some of the sexiest comic chicks around. While we know this is debatable and will vary from person to person who have different opinions about who’s the hottest, who should (or shouldn’t) make the list, etc., but there’s just so many to choose from that pleasing everybody would be impossible.

Some on the list aren’t just based not only on how hot they are on paper, but how some of these femme fatales translated to the big screen (or should), while others are just straight as hot as they come. 1. Emma Frost: This X-Men character recently showed up on the big screen, with the beautiful January Jones totally giving us a great portrayal of the temptress in X-Men: First Class. She’s also known as The White Queen and becomes one of the X-Men’s deadliest foes, as seen in the movie.

Black+Blum’s Hot-Pot BBQ Grill ($124) combines a gardening pot/herb garden (that actually functions as an actual terracotta that you can use to grow just about anything you’d like) with a small BBQ grill.

The London-based design duo has completely outdone themselves with these wise and amazing creation. So the idea is that you can grow your herbs on the top (or the lid of the BBQ), while still using the bottom half to grill/cook food (that you can, of course, incorporate any of the herbs you’re growing on the lid!). Since it’s so small and compact, the Hot-Pot BBQ Grill is perfect for apartments since you can easily place it on your balcony or patio.

Not only is it very functional, but it’s also very eco-friendly, given it’s made from recyclable stainless steel (that’s also long lasting) and ceramic coating. And if you don’t want to use it as an actual grill, the pot still looks very stylish just to have as an herb garden! But why wouldn’t you want to use both pieces?

Note taking has become a dangerous business, or so Thinkgeek would have you believe.  They’re hocking a product called the Bulletproof Body Armor Clipboard.  While no description is probably needed, it’s probably best we dive into some level of detail, otherwise you might just be in denial.

In addition to holding pieces of paper, this clipboard can withstand a bullet from a 9mm gun.  And by withstand we mean stop it. But there is one massive caveat: it weighs 3lbs and costs $44.99.

April Fools is less than 24 hours away so you can expect to see some posts related to the day filled with tomfoolery and shenanigans.  The first is The Typescreen.  It’s form factor is that of an old school typewriter, but instead of adding paper you insert an iPad. Each key press results in the arm touching the iPad’s corresponding key on the keyboard.  Sadly, it’s an April Fools joke.  Tear.

But maybe there is hope.  After all, Thinkgeek has produced and sold a few of their April Fools products after achieving stardom.

Is this gold plated iPad that costs $8,000,000 real?  We don’t think so.

We can believe the “12.5 cts of ‘I’F’ Flawless diamonds, a magnificent total of 53 individually set sparkling gems dwell beautifully in solid 24ct Apple logo with rear section formed again in 24ct gold weighing an immense 2,000 grams.”  In all likelihood it weighs more than a 15-inch Macbook Pro.

But what we have a hard time putting our finger on are the “sections of a 65 million year old T-REX Dinosaur’s thigh bone” that have been splintered and shaved into the Ammolite found on the front of the tablet.  Is that even legal?

We first saw the guys from the TV show “Bang Goes The Theory” climbing up the side of a building two years ago using a home made suction system scraped together from household parts.  Now, they’re back again and answering the childhood question of whether or not you can go full loop on a swing set, a question that every child has pondered after countless hours of leg thrusting action.  So it is possible?  

And the answer is yes.  However, they’ve installed a jet pack like system to help accomplish this feat in one simple swing, which is just flat out cheating.  The childhood question asks if it’s possible to go full circle under the power of human strength, not using some high pressure water jet pack system.  The inherent fear of every kid, especially those that have reached great heights on their local childhood swing, is that their won’t be enough momentum to complete a full circle, which will result in a painful fall back to the ground.
