AC adapters, at least these days, are just about in every room in every house. So if you’ve got plans to spy on your loved one, roommate, babysitter or cats, this Motion-Activated AC Adapter Hidden Spying Camera makes complete sense.

Believe it or not it records 720×480 video at 30fps and can be attached to any TV via RCA to review the footage. Power is derived from the outlet, so there is no need to fret about battery life, and the SD card slot means a virtually endless recording medium.

The standard version, which doesn’t include a date/time stamp, on-screen display settings or a continuous recording function like the Pro model, costs $295 (tack on $100 if want the more feature rich version).

Its maker’s website doesn’t list the cost, and usually that’s a good sign you can’t afford it.

Then again, in the day and age of Google Earth, there isn’t much you’d want it for anyway, unless you’re imaginative and artistic enough to find new ways of stitching together high resolution images taken from above.

Which, let’s face it, you’re probably not. But then again, this miniature flying wing slash self-driven drone, with its stabilizers, propeller, on-board processor, GPS and high-res camera, is mostly about what you’re not.

You certainly don’t need to be a pilot to guide it. Rather, you set waypoints for it on a map, as well as take-off and landing points, and it does the rest. Same with the actual act of photographing – set the targets beforehand and it does the job.

That’s great and all, but what makes this $60 piece of gadgetry so cool is the $30 Snake Cam Add-on accessory. That’s right, it lets you perform full clandestine ops. Just attach the snake cam and you can view/record around corners, under doors or even give yourself a pair of eyes in the back of your head.

Perhaps it would be best suited for a wedding ceremony or reception?

Rumors of a cell phone signal jammers appearing in movie theaters surfaced about 5 years ago, but we can’t think of an occasion where our movie watching experience hasn’t been interrupted by some lamo answering his/her phone and saying “dude, I’m in a movie, let me call you back”.

You can get your very own piece of art work and cell phone jammer for $180.99 from our friends at Light In The Box.

Believe it or not this is a spy cam. Yup, it looks just like the recently released iPod Shuffle, so it should have no problems fitting it. To the right of the controls is a pinhole that contains a small camera that can capture 640×480 video. Unlike the actual Apple device this one contains an SD card slot and can play your favorite MP3s while you record all sorts of nefarious activities. The only downside is that the battery will last for just one hour when in full operation.

Brickhouse has it for $100.

It has three hands on it (one of the hour, one for the minute, and the other a freaking power reserve indicator), is made out of 300 unique components, and is constructed out of titanium and sapphire. The design is influenced by the aviation industry, but it looks more like a high tech weapon to me.

Sadly, pricing is currently unavailable for the MB&F HM4 Thunderbolt Watch, but I’m sure it’ll cost you quite a bit.

Sneak attack! Finally, someone (Justin Shull) built a movable shrub, just like in the cartoons. It’s officially called the Terrestrial Shrub Rover, an electrically powered shrub on wheels that seems to have no problems moving over roads and grass. Inside is room for one and 3 LCD cameras. In the works is a remote webcam version. Does that shrub look out of place? If so, it might be Justin creepin’ on your abode. I’d love to see the reaction in NYC. You know, since it’s a concrete jungle and all.

For those who like to spy on others, the Cross Spy Camera records video with an almost imperceptible camera hidden in a cross necklace. It’s a great idea, but the audience is a little limited — you’re either really into Marilyn Manson or Christian Rock to sport one of these things. Otherwise, it would be a little conspicuous. It records 30fps video and has 4GB storage, though, so if you’re up for it — hide your deviousness in the name of God.

The Cross Spy Camera is available now for $37.60.

Usually we’re waxing poetic about some new piece of newly fangled spy equipment, but today we’re gonna take a different route and present to you the Wireless Signal and Camera Lens Detector.

It uses 6 bright shining LEDs to reflects of a camera’s lens, but keep in mind you’ll need to manually sweep the room and actually spot the reflection. Seems kind of flawed, no? Moving on, shall we. The wireless signal detector picks up any wireless signal and beeps or vibrates when it finds one. A set of LED indicator lights help you locate its position, but last time I checked there are a gazillion wireless signals floating around, including cell phones and WiFi.

With that all said thank the Lord it’s only $28, because something tells me the only thing your gonna find snooping is right in your pocket.

Me in a tie? That’s a dead give away to something fishy. But for most, they could get away with the Spy Camera Tie with Wireless Remote. That’s right, you too can reproduce the same fuzzy black and white videos as seen on Dateline NBC.

Hidden in a secret compartment is a VGA quality camera, mini DVR system with 4GB of storage and a mic. A small remote controls the system with a max range of 30 feet. When you’re done nabbing your nefarious footage just plug it into your computer via USB and download.

Chinavasion has it for $42.

If I were a cat burglar knocking off houses during the day I’d probably wanna ring the doorbell and see if anyone is home before committing my B&E. If your line of work happens to be such, you better watch out for the Wireless Doorbell Monitor With Camera. A small lens embedded in the door bell is activated and records to a built-in SD card whenever the bell is rung, thus recording your ugly mug. And the camera ain’t half bad, boasting a 2 megapixel sensor with a 1 Lux minimum rating. Just don’t forget to put in fresh AAA batteries now and again.

Oh, and there is an actual wireless digital door bell included that is good for up to 30 meters.

You can grab one for $41.

The Wild Planet Spy Video TRAKR is absolutely everything you wanted as a child. Broadcasting wireless audio and visual feeds from the TRAKR to the remote is simply awesome and you can even hook it up to your PC via USB and program commands into it. I’m not sure how deep this programming goes but it’s got to make this thing that much better.

What is easily the most notable feature however, is the inclusion of the microphone on the remote and the speaker on the RC drone. You can broadcast your imminent arrival from afar, or simply sneak up on somebody and scare the hell out of them.

The Wild Planet Spy Video TRAKR will go on sale in October of this year for a retail price of $120. I gotta try one.

The Spy Peephole Reverser is definitely a good product to catch someone in the act. It gives you the ability to see what’s going on inside your apartment or home during the whole “I’ll Be Right There” moments, all the while standing on the outside of your home’s closed door. It could be absolutely priceless if you want to catch your roommate going through your stuff or your spouse cheating on you.

For $23 you can virtually see through a door, that is provided the door you’re trying to look through doesn’t have a peephole anti-reverser! Also includes a lanyard accessory for around the neck wearing.

You guys remember a few months ago when we were talking about the ADE 651, supposed to be the world’s greatest bomb detector because it could literally sniff out explosives from up to half a mile out? And how we said that we were pretty sure it was a gigantic fake because its engineering was comprised of an assortment of science terms strung together semirandomly?

Well, as it turns out, there’s an update. Seems that the heart of the device is a series of cards, that were supposed to detect various kinds of explosives. You want to find, say, TNT, you insert one kind of card, and so on.

The problem is that the cards in question seem to be worthless. They’re nothing more than RFID tags that haven’t been activated.

The device’s inventor, meanwhile, adamantly insists that his device isn’t worthless, saying this:

“We have been dealing with doubters for 10 years. One of the problems we have is that the machine does look a little primitive. We are working on a new model that has flashing lights.”

Over $85 million worth of these things had been sold over the course of the last ten years, so it’s not surprising that the inventor was recently arrested. He’s currently out on bail and facing trial in as many as several different countries, and I have to admit, watching him defend the device against all these people calling it an utter fraud should be really interesting.

Read

There are an endless array of <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/tag/spy-camera"title="Spy Camera" target="_blank">spy cameras on the market, but most require a WiFi signal and a power source. The Stealth 1 DVR camera on the other hand can accept up to a 32GB SD card and thanks to a inbuilt 17 hour battery requires absolutely no wires or wiring. It can be set to record continuously, at a preset time or when motion is detected. One customer review points out that the picture quality is poor in low light and who knows what the resolution is, but hey, it’s wire free. You can grab one from Skymall for $200.

All right, spies in the audience, time for you to get your loadout! No, we don’t have any exploding pens or nerve gas shoe bladders, and don’t even ask where your laser gun is. We’ve had some budget cuts, okay?

But what we DO have is a little something from Walyou, the Bionic Ear Headphone. It amplifies sound so that you can hear tiny sounds from about sixty to a hundred feet out, and louder noises from roughly three hundred feet.

It comes with a stereo headset, a built in monocular (that’s like a small telescope, for one eye) with eight times magnification, a digital sound recorder in case you pick up something you’re going to need later, and even a frequency knob for fine tuning and catching those little sounds you might have missed.

And even the poorest of espionage agencies can afford these in their budgets–they only cost $38.63 apiece, after all. So grab your headsets and get to snooping!

So by now I’ve come to terms with the fact that there is no product that a tiny pin hole camera can’t be jammed inside of. It kind of brings a whole new level of skepticism to cheating on your spouse or even talking smack about your best friend.

This time around were seeing the <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/tag/spy-camera"title="Spy camera" target="_blank">spy camera in the form form of a lighter. One problem though: it doesn’t actually light, which will surely tip off your mark. Then again, you could just leave it laying around to record video, that is until someone pulls off the lighter’s head to reveal the USB plug. Issues aside, it does record 640×480 video on 4GB of memory, which is damn skippy considering its size.

ThinkGeek has it for $60.

Now here’s a spy pen you can be proud of, the Pegasus PJ-003 Spy Pen comes with four gig of onboard memory and the capacity to take VGA video (that’s 640X480 for those of you who don’t follow resolution charts) all for $99.99.

But here’s the kicker–Amazon’s offering them up unusually cheap, in fact, about forty percent off. They’re currently available for $59.99.

The device is selling like figurative hotcakes, currently ranked number one on the Electronics Movers and Shakers chart, or the Amazon chart that shows the highest jumps in rank according to sales. I’ve never been so clear on what exactly makes these things so popular–a portable video camera that looks like a pen? Does anyone really need to take surreptitious video or is this one just for the stalkers?

So if you’ve been looking for a nice, surreptitous way to take video just about anywhere, the Pegasus PJ-003 should be about what you need. Oh, and if you can answer the above question, I’d definitely appreciate it, so hit the comments section, huh?
