Believe it or not this is a spy cam.  Yup, it looks just like the recently released iPod Shuffle, so it should have no problems fitting it.  To the right of the controls is a pinhole that contains a small camera that can capture 640×480 video.  Unlike the actual Apple device this one contains an SD card slot and can play your favorite MP3s while you record all sorts of nefarious activities.  The only downside is that the battery will last for just one hour when in full operation.

Looking more like a set of super expensive binoculars than any watch I’ve ever seen, this MB&F HM4 Thunderbolt Watch is one crazily designed gadget. It  has three hands on it (one of the hour, one for the minute, and the other a freaking power reserve indicator), is made out of 300 unique components, and is constructed out of titanium and sapphire. The design is influenced by the aviation industry, but it looks more like a high tech weapon to me.

Sadly, pricing is currently unavailable for the MB&F HM4 Thunderbolt Watch, but I’m sure it’ll cost you quite a bit.

Sneak attack!  Finally, someone (Justin Shull) built a movable shrub, just like in the cartoons.  It’s officially called the Terrestrial Shrub Rover, an electrically powered shrub on wheels that seems to have no problems moving over roads and grass.  Inside is room for one and 3 LCD cameras.  In the works is a remote webcam version.  Does that shrub look out of place?  If so, it might be Justin creepin’ on your abode.  I’d love to see the reaction in NYC.  You know, since it’s a concrete jungle and all.

Usually we’re waxing poetic about some new piece of newly fangled spy equipment, but today we’re gonna take a different route and present to you the Wireless Signal and Camera Lens Detector.

It uses 6 bright shining LEDs to reflects of a camera’s lens, but keep in mind you’ll need to manually sweep the room and actually spot the reflection.  Seems kind of flawed, no?  Moving on, shall we.  The wireless signal detector picks up any wireless signal and beeps or vibrates when it finds one.  A set of LED indicator lights help you locate its position, but last time I checked there are a gazillion wireless signals floating around, including cell phones and WiFi.

The Wild Planet Spy Video TRAKR is absolutely everything you wanted as a child.  Broadcasting wireless audio and visual feeds from the TRAKR to the remote is simply awesome and you can even hook it up to your PC via USB and program commands into it.  I’m not sure how deep this programming goes but it’s got to make this thing that much better.

What is easily the most notable feature however, is the inclusion of the microphone on the remote and the speaker on the RC drone.  You can broadcast your imminent arrival from afar, or simply sneak up on somebody and scare the hell out of them.

You guys remember a few months ago when we were talking about the ADE 651, supposed to be the world’s greatest bomb detector because it could literally sniff out explosives from up to half a mile out?  And how we said that we were pretty sure it was a gigantic fake because its engineering was comprised of an assortment of science terms strung together semirandomly?

Well, as it turns out, there’s an update.  Seems that the heart of the device is a series of cards, that were supposed to detect various kinds of explosives.  You want to find, say, TNT, you insert one kind of card, and so on.

The problem is that the cards in question seem to be worthless.  They’re nothing more than RFID tags that haven’t been activated.

The device’s inventor, meanwhile, adamantly insists that his device isn’t worthless, saying this:

“We have been dealing with doubters for 10 years. One of the problems we have is that the machine does look a little primitive. We are working on a new model that has flashing lights.”

Over $85 million worth of these things had been sold over the course of the last ten years, so it’s not surprising that the inventor was recently arrested.  He’s currently out on bail and facing trial in as many as several different countries, and I have to admit, watching him defend the device against all these people calling it an utter fraud should be really interesting.

So by now I’ve come to terms with the fact that there is no product that a tiny pin hole camera can’t be jammed inside of.  It kind of brings a whole new level of skepticism to cheating on your spouse or even talking smack about your best friend.

This time around were seeing the spy camera in the form form of a lighter.  One problem though: it doesn’t actually light, which will surely tip off your mark.  Then again, you could just leave it laying around to record video, that is until someone pulls off the lighter’s head to reveal the USB plug.  Issues aside, it does record 640×480 video on 4GB of memory, which is damn skippy considering its size.
