While Activision hasn’t made an official announcement regarding Modern Warfare 3, Kotaku says that they’ve already got the deets from multiple inside sources. First off, the game is said to release on November 8th, 2011.

According to the sources, the games plot will center around multiple cities spread throughout the world. The game is said to start where the last one left off, which was the US attempting to stave off a Russian invasion of the US. The single player campaign will once again involve a variety of characters, including a Russian Federal Protective Services agent, SAS Operative, tank gunner, and AC-130 gunner as well as a few key characters from the previous installments. Expect to play about 15 missions, with the first starting with the invasion of Manhattan by a Russian force and the last occurring in Duabia.

Vehicles are back in this installation, which are said to include an AC-130 gunship (gunner position) and tank. The multiplayer mode should largely remain the same, at least at the core, but the rumor states that Infinity Ward has added two new modes, “Survival” and “Mission”.

So will this be the final installment of COD? Since Activision has the habit of sucking as much life out of a series until it won’t sell any more, such as Guitar Hero, it’s really the gamers who decide if the series will continue on. So will you buy another installment of COD: Modern Warfare?

Just before the weekend an official image of the <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/04/officially-spotted-white-iphone-4.html"title="white iPhone 4" target="_blank">white iPhone 4 slipped out. Now Best Buy, which is known for leaking phone release dates like a 5 day open sore, is showing the launch date for the device to be April 27th, just 1 day earlier than we initially suspected. As you can see in the screen shot above, the denoted hardware is for AT&T, but word is that the Verizon version will also rear its head at the same time.

Is this officially the white iPhone we’ve been waiting for? Engadget seems to think so. Supposedly a UK customer managed to get their mitts on one via a retail store. Supposedly, the sales clerk rang it up as a black 16GB iPhone and shortly after Vodafone sent a notice instructing stores not to sell them until next week. The model number is listed as MC604B/A, which is one number variation away from the 16GB black iPhone, which is MC603B/A.

So what does this mean for US sales of the white iPhone? Probably next week and since Apple has a habit of releasing new products on Friday, we’re gonna guess April 28th.

We’re assuming that this picture is the box art.

Last week we saw a leaked image of the <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/04/droid-x2-makes-an-official-appearance-specs-and-launch-unknown.html"title="DROID X2" target="_blank">DROID X2. Honestly, it is nothing worth losing sleep over, let alone waiting for, at least given what little we know so far.

Early rumors pointed to the DROID X2 boasting 4G connectivity, but according to Technobuffalo, who seems to have scored a hands on with the device, and recorded some video of the yet to be released handset, it won’t support Verizon’s LTE service for the sake of improved battery life. They also say that Motorola has removed the dedicated camera button, made a slight color adjustment in the finish and added a new version of Motoblur.

According to their tipster the DROID X2 will hit Verizon sometime in May, though they wouldn’t nail down a specific date.

Yesterday, we saw what might be the <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/04/7th-gen-ipod-nano-rumor-emerges-camera-on-the-back.html"title="Next Gen iPod Touch Nano" target="_blank">next generation iPod Nano. Now we have what is supposedly the next gen iPod Touch. While the blurry photos and few details lend itself to a healthy dose of skepticism, a few things seem to indicate that this may in fact be the real deal.

In this version the physical home button we’ve all grown familiar with has been removed in favor of a capacitive version. This seems logical since it not only removes the possibility of lint and other debris from getting jammed into the gap, but could streamline the production process and lower the cost since a separate piece doesn’t have to be manufactured and installed. The leak also points towards 128GB of storage, which is twice the capacity of the current iPod Touch model. Lastly, the aluminum back is still present, which might mean that it’s older than we think, or that perhaps Apple hasn’t entirely abandoned this finish, which could mean good news for the iPhone 5. Less interesting is that model number, MC550LL, and that it’s running iOS 4.2.1 – we can’t derive much info from those two clues.

To add some perspective to the matter, we hardly think these aforementioned features are worth drooling over or getting that excited about. However, it does point to the next evolution of devices that we can expect from Apple and could perhaps lend credence to future leaked device, provided of course we see a comparable feature set, which in this case is the capacitive touch home button, something that we’ve been hearing about for some time now.

At what point is enough, enough? What are we talking about? HTC line up of phones, which seem to be slight variations on one and other thanks to their willingness to produce handsets for a variety of carriers. Or at least that’s the way we see it, though we must admit we’re mostly iPhone users over here.

Any who, this is supposedly HTC’s next flagship phone, the Pyramid. It has a dual-core 1.2GHz processor with 768MB of RAM under the hood and a 4.3-inch 960×540 resolution touchscreen. The back has an 8 megapixel camera that can capture full HD 1080p video as well as a front facing VGA shooter. It should ship with Android 2.3.2 and HTC’s Sense 3.0. The specs are remarkably similar to <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/03/sprint-htc-evo-3d-smartphone-announced-features-and-specs-detailed.html"title="HTC EVO 3D" target="_blank">HTC EVO 3D, though it doesn’t boast the more advanced screen and as much RAM.

No word on a carrier or price as of this posting.

Listen up Android fans. This is HTC’s Incredible 2. There is no word on a launch date or price. But Verizon should carry the phone, which sports Android 2.3 with Sense, a 4-inch super LCD WVGA screen, a rear facing 8 megapixel camera, front facing 1.3 megpixel camera, 1Ghz Qualcomm MSM 8655 processor, 4GB of internal storage, microSD car dslot, 768mb of RAM, WiFi b/g/n, and a 1450mAh battery.

The previous Incredible featured a smaller 1300mAh battery, a different processor (8650 vs 8655), less RAM (512MB) and twice the memory (8GB). However, these specs aren’t final, so we wouldn’t be surprised if they change upon launch.

Update: Checkout our <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/03/first-look-htc-thunderbolt.html"title="HTC Thunderbolt" target="_blank">HTC Thunderbolt first look.

It’s been a little while since we heard about Verizon’s hotly anticipated <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/01/htc-thunderbolt-now-official-blackberry-storm-shivers-in-fear.html"title="Verizon Thunderbolt" target="_blank">Thunderbolt phone, which achieves simultaneous data and voice, something that has been a thorn in Big Red’s side, especially since AT&T has promoted this capability in their latest batch of commercials featuring the iPhone.

While the carrier has remained mum over the launch date of the Thunderbolt, word has leaked out that it might have been pushed back until March 10th, but that, to a large degree, seems to be conjecture at this point.

If for some reason you forget all the specs associated with the Thunderbolt, here is a quick refresher:

4G LTE – customers can expect download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G Mobile Broadband coverage areas

4.3-inch WVGA display

Mobile Hotspot capability – share 4G connection with up to 8 Wi-Fi devices

Android 2.2 platform

32GB microSD card included

HTC Sense 2.0 with new features, including Fast Boot

Built-in kickstand for easy media viewing

Dolby and SRS surround sound

Fully integrated Skype mobile experience

720p HD video recording

DLNA streaming multimedia support

Update: Apple just announced the <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/02/new-macbooks-revealed-with-new-cpus-but-less-battery-life.html"title="2011 Macbook Pros" target="_blank">new Macbook Pros for 2011.

We’ve been hearing that the latest iteration of <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/02/next-gen-macbook-pros-features-leak-out-maybe.html"title="Macbook Pro Hybrid Storage System" target="_blank">Macbook Pros will sport a hybrid storage system that includes an SSD and spindle. But according to a leaked spec sheet (seen above) of the yet to be announced 13-inch Macbook Pro that isn’t true, unless of course this is just the low end model.

So what’s new in the new 13-inch Macbook Pro? The processor is getting a bump to a Core i5, which is a jump over the Core 2 Duo, the GPU has been replaced with an Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor with 384mb of RAM and it will support Intel’s Lightpeak, which Apple seems to be branding “Thunderbolt”.

There is no word on a price, but a previous rumor by way of <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/02/macbook-refresh-launch-date-coming-soon-so-says-best-buy.html"title="Macbook Pro Pricing 2011" target="_blank">Best Buy indicated that we’ll see a price cut. If we had to place a bet, we’d wager that this model will replace the current white Macbook, which possibly means it will receive the same price tag of $999.

Read

Not knowing when highly anticipated products are going to show up can be a buzz-kill. With a dual-core processor, a laptop dock and an HD dock, Atrix 4G phone from Motorola is leader of the pack in the hot expectations category.

Shown at CES, it left phone buffs searching wildly for a release date, but it simply wasn’t available, until now. A leaked AT&T screen shows March 1, 2011 as a possible launch date.

Just possible, since, as many have noticed, AT&T likes to launch phones on Sundays, and March 1st happens to be a Tuesdau.

Plus how much credence can you put into a leaked doc on the Net.

In terms of specs, and despite the model name, which has long been regarded as a mistake by RIM, this version of the device is rounding out to do some heavy lifting. The big take aways? A 1.2ghz processor and 3.7-inch 800×480 capacitive touchscreen.

Others specs include a 5 megapixel camera with 720p video mode, quad band GSM connectivity, microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 3G mobile hotspot, optical trackpad, 1230 mAh battery and Tri-band UMTS/HSPA support.

Word has it the Blackberry Storm 3 will launch sometime this September, but don’t count on it maintaining the Storm moniker, at least not internationally.

We’re set to attend Verizon’s CES press conference on January 6th, but it looks one of their cats is already out of the bag.

Called the Thunderbolt, it’s form factor is analogous to that of Sprint’s HTC EVO and will supposedly sports a LTE modem, HD capabilities, a massive 4.3-inch touchscreen and many more features that have yet to be announced. Course, like all of these giant 4G connected phones, battery is sure to be a problem, unless Verizon has something else up their sleeve.

At the time of our posting we weren’t sure on the all the details and we didn’t even know if the Chinese case would be picked up by a US carrier let alone make it State side. We now know that the case, at least the Sprint version, won’t support voice calls (not directly at least), but will provide a 3G data connection to 2nd and 3rd Gen iPod Touches (4th Gen iPod Touches are presumably not supported). Sprint customers will pay $30/month (no contract required) and receive up to 1GB of data per month.

It’s not entirely clear, but if the screen captures are to be believed it will have a Hotspot function providing Internet access up to two devices. So, if this turns out to be true, this could be a good resolve for those of you looking to connect to the Net on your computer any where you roam. It’s also worth noting that there are many iPod Touch applications that support VoIP calls over 3G.
