For fear of looking stupid, I don’t dare use a pun such as ‘got some time on your hands to read this clock’, and I’ll get straight to the point. The math clock makes you solve the problem at ‘hand’ (quite literally) to determine the time. By day 2 you should be ready for advanced calculus.
Available at Thinkgeek for $27

You can add this clock to the one room in your house dedicated to weird and funky collectibles from around the globe since it’s hailing from Bulgaria. Using 6 Nixie Tubes (never heard of them) the almost ’store your grandparents ashes here’ piece of furniture displays time, date and includes an alarm. What happens when the alarm goes off is beyond me.
Looks like you can grab one from eBay for just over $200.

Features: Ummm, it moves, it moves some more and, oh yeah it makes a really really big noise.

Porsche Design, an arm of Porsche, which is surprising since the 911 really hasn’t changed all that much in 30 odd years, is getting into the bedside business with the The Etón P’9120 Alarm Clock Radio. Featuring three speakers on its face - they look reminiscent of a car piston or exhaust - the boxy alarm clock also sports an iPod dock, an enigmatic remote and get this, a built-in flashlight. If you’re into the whole satellite radio thing, you’ll be happy to know there’s an XM antenna hookup and stand along subwoofer for bed rumbling action.

Talk about an optimal bedside alarm clock! The iLuv iMM173 features two docks for either 2 iPhones (accepts 3G and Edge) an iPhone and an iPod - you get the idea. It’s totally Apple certified so that should mean no GSM signal interference when you’re in a deep sleep or rocking out to your favorite jam band. Other notables includes an oversized LCD, 10 watts total power (5 per speaker), aux line in, daylight savings time switch, LCD dimmer (10 levels), and remote control.

Don’t snooze with this alarm clock or it’ll call your boss, your ex-girlfriend, your boss’ wife, you brother, your drinking buddies until you wake up. For every 3 minutes that you ’snooze’ the alarm clock will dial a random number in your cell phone. It’s a concept so don’t sweat it. Created by Alice Wang.

The ZN9 by iHome will probably sell as fast as…well…the Zunes. Don’t get me wrong, Microsoft has managed to scrape together a fair piece of what little MP3 player pie is left, but unfortunately I don’t know if it is enough to make iHome’s latest alarm clock stereo a smash hit.
Available here for $99.99 (includes Free S&H). Expect release July 2008.

The Laser Target Alarm clock might just take the cake of all alarm clocks (does that even make sense). Sometimes the best way to wake yourself from a deep slumber is to get the brain working right away. Hell, I wake up and check email via my iPhone. It get’s my brain churning and causes both sides to interact. The Laser Tag Alarm clock emits an obnoxious noise like any alarm clock, but to turn it off you’ll have to shoot the center of the target with the included Star Trek looking phaser. Unfortunately, there’s no snooze feature, but hopefully by the time you take aim and snipe the would be foe you’ll be crisp as a hotel bed sheet.
Available here for $19.99.

This is great. It’s an Etch A Sketch hooked up to a laptop and a few robotic dials that automatically draw the time. Every minute it takes a bow to erase itself.

Scheduling meetings and projects has never been easier then with the TaskWatch Whiteboard. Simply scribble in the due times and whamo, you’ve got 12 hours of tasks to follow. Chose from the ‘creative’ or ‘female team’ version. Nothing sexist about that, right?
