How they know this is beyond me, but according to U.S. physicists they’ve crafted a clock that will neither gain nor lose a second in the next 200 million years. The unnamed clock even out performs the U.S Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology clock, which promises to keep time accurate to the second for 80 million years. So what are these clocks used for? Deep space navigation where a slight error could disrupt and destroy a mission. Other uses include synchronizing telecommunication networks ‘that some day lead to things like hands-free driving in satellite-guided cars.’ If you ask me, it all sounds like a bunch of smoke, but I’m not a scientist.

I just got an email from the makers of ‘Clocky: the alarm clock that runs away and hides to get you out of bedâ€? (deep breath, panting…). Back in the dizay (yes, I did just say ‘dizay’) it was simply a prototype. So if you’re still snoozing 20 times before you crawl out of your cotton cave – like me – then here’s one more thing to get you out of bed. Course, if you’re really like me, you’ll turn it off with one eye open and then get back into bed.
Available here for $50 and comes in almond white (yum), aqua and mint.

Is it a clock with built-in USB ports, or is it a USB port with a built-in clock? In either case it appears to have 3 USB ports, but don’t expect anything fancy, as it sports USB 1 only.
