Splinter Cell Conviction

Holy crap!  Contrary to popular belief, Ubisoft will be releasing a ‘Splinter Cell: Conviction‘ demo.  It will arrive March 18th for my your enjoyment.  According to reports on the Interwebs, the demo will start you in the bathroom scene, which was detailed at E3, and then send you to a board later in the game.

No joke, my hands are shaking with excitement.  The full game arrive 4/13/10.

Pogo Plug Updated, Now Streams Movies And More To The Xbox 360 And PS3

Pogo Plug Xbox

Pogoplug updated the second iteration of their hardware today with a software upgrade.  So what’s new?  Now Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers can stream content stored on their Pogoplug to their console, presumably letting them watch movie, view photos and listen to music any where their device has an Internet connection.

Also new is a feature called Active Copy.  In a nut shell it automatically copies files from a selected hard drive (on your computer) and copies them to the Pogoplug’s remotely connected storage device.  Something I’d equate to a poor man’s RAID system, but there’s really nothing poor about it.

Both of the above features are available today.  You just need to download the update. …Continue reading: Pogo Plug Updated, Now Streams Movies And More To The Xbox 360 And PS3

New Medal Of Honor Trailer Released (video)

Medal Of Honor Trailer 2

Unfortunately, no real game play is shown, but here is the newest trailer for the next Medal Of Honor video game.  Will it rival the COD series?  Hard to say, but EA is behind it and prior to Activision’s record breaking game they ruled the FPS shooter, at least when it came to the WWII era (my opinion, not fact).

Modern Warfare 2 DLC, Stimulus Package, Priced

March 15th, 2010 1:34 PM | by Christen da Costa

Modern Warfare 2 Map PackOkay, so we know that the first expansion pack for Modern Warfare 2 will hit March 30th.  But what we didn’t know at the time was the cost, which is now supposedly $15, or 1200 Microsoft Xbox Live points.  It would seem that everyone is up in arms about this price, and rightfully so since 2 of the 5 maps will be reissued from COD4, otherwise known as Modern Warfare 1.

Who knows, maybe Activision will have a change of heart, but since they make little to no money off the DLCs, we probably won’t see a price change.

‘Splinter Cell: Conviction’ Multiplayer Detailed In Video (video)

March 11th, 2010 3:02 PM | by Christen da Costa

Splinter Cell Conviction Mulitplayer

I kind of missed this.  I don’t know how since I’m pretty excited about Splinter Cell: Conviction.  In any case, here is probably what will be the most detailed look at the game’s multiplayer experience before the game launches in April.  I can’t say I’m totally blow away, but I think that’s just me feeding myself a healthy dose of skepticism after endless delays and reworks.

Officialized: Modern Warfare Stimulus Package Hitting Xbox Live On March 30th

March 10th, 2010 4:04 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

Modern-Warfare-2-Stimulus-Package

That’s right MW2 devotees.  The first map pack for Modern Warfare 2 will be coming to the Xbox 360 first thing on March 30th.  Not much information was given in regards to specifics and details but rumors are citing 5 maps of the new and old variety.  Old maps?  Like from MW1?  That doesn’t sound cool.  Given the price point ($10) on MW1’s 3 map package from 07′, I guess it seems fair.

While no price point has been set, the aforementioned surmise could be totally defeated once one does arrive, so we’ll just have to wait and see.  How about some new weapons and perks?

Activision laid mention to the the fact that the map pack will also make it to the PS3 and PC but failed to arrive on a date.  Consider your package stimulated?

Now You Can Buy The Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit Separately From The MicroSoft Store

What’s worth more to you – time or money?  When I got my MW2 Xbox 360 I manually transferred game saves to my new 250GB HD through my 64MB memory card.  To say the least, it took about an hour.  If you are approaching the scenario above and want to go a different way you are in luck.

The Microsoft  Store now sells their proprietary HD transfer cable for $15 and it should effectively save you a bunch of time when you get a new HD.  Worth the asking price?

ForzaTune Premier: Video Game Companion App

March 8th, 2010 3:02 PM | by Jeff Bordeaux

ForzaTunePremier

What is kind of becoming a cool trend and is an awesome idea, Video Game Companion Apps are a great way for hard core gamers to get their fix when they’re away from the console.  ForzaTune Premier is a companion app that effectively gives you all the information to tune any of your cars the easy way.

At $2, all of the reviews so far have been pretty glowing.  Novices and amateurs alike will find the app easy to use and greatly beneficial to shaving off precious seconds to their lap times.  So now we’ve seen the Madden companion app (which took forever to come out) and now we have a Forza App.  Any other ideas on what games could use companion apps?

_Bioshock_2_Logo

Having yet to play Bioshock it’s nice to see that DLC is being supported.  Sinclair Solutions Pack is due out on March 11th for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.  For 400 Microsoft Points or $4.99 on PS3, you’ll get a level increase to 50, 20 new trials, 5 new masks, and two new playable characters.  Sounds like a decent deal.

I absolutely love the first game, so I best get this game through Gamefly soon.

March 5th, 2010 3:31 PM | by Christen da Costa

Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package

MDub, as in Modern Warfare, fans are ravenous when it comes to their map packs.  Well, they can now, or more like soon, feed their insatiable thirst for more mutliplayer combat.  Due sometime this Spring (I’m hearing as soon as April) we can expect the first map pack, which will be called “Stimulus Package” (let’s hope this means cheap).

The DLC will include five new maps – 2 pulled from COD4 and 3 news ones.  Activision has yet to deny or confirm this ‘leak’, but since the video depicting the supposedly new multiplayer boards has already been pulled from Youtube…well, you get the picture.

Update: A new video source for has been added, although it’s just screens …Continue reading: Modern Warfare 2 New Multiplayer Maps Leaked
