I don’t usually post on video games, but the trailer for Far Cry 2 looks flat out kick ass. Enjoy!

Far Cry 2 Looks Off The Hook
October 16th, 2008 4:48 PM | by Christen da CostaRockband Videogame Takes The Experience One Step Further: The Stagekit
October 16th, 2008 2:54 PM | by Christen da CostaStrap on the wig and break out the toy and drum guitars, because you haven’t seen anything yet. Rockband took the whole Guitar Hero experience a step further by adding more instruments and a singer, and now they’re set to introduce a fog and light machine to the mix. Both devices plug into the Xbox 360 game console via USB and react to the game’s music, providing more fog and lights, or less, depending on the tempo of the music.
The Rockband Stagekit hits retailers November 11th for $99 and can be preordered here
Home Made Gears Of War Lancer Gun Just In Time For Halloween
October 15th, 2008 5:04 PM | by Christen da CostaThe time for Ghouls and Ghosts is almost upon us, but one question remains: what shall you be? I have yet to decide but I’m pretty sure the guy that crafted this home made Gears of War Lancer gun from a Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6 has his mind made up.

The Ultimate Portable Dreamcast: The Dreamtrooper
October 15th, 2008 1:28 PM | by Christen da CostaFailures aside, the Sega Dreamcast was hands down the best gaming rig at the time. Heck, they even pioneered the open environment gaming platform with that Japanese game (the name is escaping me) that cost $20 million to make (by today’s standards that’s the norm). Hailrazer (aka John Jandron), a super hacker modder in my book, spawned this wonderfully slick creation by mashing together a Dreamcast and Sony PSP screen into what was formally a Laser Doodle.

New Xbox Experience To Allow Games To Be Loaded On To The Hard Drive
October 8th, 2008 5:06 PM | by Christen da Costa
Perhaps that 120GB hard drive for the 360 is warranted after all? Huh, huh! According to a Gametrailer video, loading games onto the hard drive increases decreases load times. I’m gonna gander a guess and say it makes for smoother game play as well. As you’ll see in this video, GTA4 loads noticeably faster from the hard drive than the DVD.
Gadget Rumor: Xbox 360 External Blu-ray Drive
October 8th, 2008 2:28 PM | by Christen da CostaLook around and I guarantee one of your friends, or friend’s friends, has purchased a Sony PS3 just for the Blu-ray drive. Apparently, Microsoft might have gotten wind of this and decided to commission Toshiba-Samsung Storage Technology Corp. to build an external Blu-ray drive for the Xbox 360. Yup, it’s a rumor with no official announcement yet, but seems reasonable.
Question is, would you buy an external Blu-ray player for the 360? I might, but ultimately would prefer a stand alone box like the LG BD300.

PopStar Guitar Wii Peripheral
October 7th, 2008 11:14 AM | by Christen da CostaDue out sometime this November, the PopStar Guitar title is yet another ‘rhythm’ based game to hit the market. Fortunately, they’ve had some foresight into the turbulent economical woes ahead and have included two of these pictured AirG slip on peripherals for the Wii with the game, all for a complete price of $60. PS2 players will have to depend on preexisting game guitars.

Rumored Sega Handheld Device, Sega Vision, Debunked
October 6th, 2008 1:28 PM | by Christen da CostaBefore the weekend there was a rumor flying around that Sega was getting back into the hardware market and was set to release a new handheld gaming device to compete with the PSP and DS. We didn’t post on it because it seemed a stretch to say the least. Turns out the rumor is only half true. Sega, which plans to remain a software developer, licensed the rights to their name and games to a 3rd party Chinese PMP developer. Sega Vision was just that, a vision.
Official quote from Sega:
“The Vision is primarily an MP4 video player with some basic games functionality, and not a new handheld gaming machine…the Sega Vision isn’t actually a Sega-developed device at all, and in fact a cheap Chinese iPod-style alternative.”
