RIDE, for the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PS3 launched today. I have yet to get a full hands with the game but I did give it a whirl at this year’s X games – in other words my opinion of the game and whether or not it will be successful is still pending. Nonetheless, you can grab it from Amazon for $120 or head to Walmart and get a special edition board.

Ok, I’ll be honest, best I can suss out from the press release is that Thrusmaster’s T-Freestyle NW gaming board is a piece of wood with rubber bumpers that works in concert with the Wii Balance Board to produce a RIDE like experience for current and soon to be released Wii snowboarding and skateboarding games. And I don’t know what Rolling Motion Board technology is, but whatever ‘koolaid’ Thrustmaster’s marketing team is cooking up I want a sip of it.
It’s crafted of genuine maple and launches this holiday season (end of November) for $29.99. …Continue reading: Thrustmaster Intros Budget Friendly RIDE Experience

It’s always pretty interesting to see other things besides the Wii get controlled via Wiimote. Some have hooked it to Airsoft guns or what have you, but today I’ve dug up a little something interesting.
Thanks to the Casmobot lawn mower, developed by scientists at the University of Southern Denmark, you can now use your Wiimote to tackle lawn chores.
The mower is synced to the Wiimote with Bluetooth, and allows you to not only steer the device, but also engage the cutting action (just tilt the Wiimote forward) or set the device on autopilot where it makes passes inside a previously established zone.
The grass cutting equivalent of a Roomba is a sweet enough idea, but tying it to your Wiimote? Now that’s just entertaining! Plus, for all the kids in the audience, next time mom and dad get all bent out of shape about your gaming time, just tell them you’re getting in practice for lawn mowing season. …Continue reading: Casmobot Lawnmower Controlled With A Wiimote (video)

What will probably rank as the weirdest Wii controller yet, teen mothers and nanny’s alike will flock to this new “Baby & Me” controller. The controller is essentially a small doll that features a loading slot for a Wii remote.
Capable of tracking feeding, playing, and excessive shaking motions, I’m sure it will also work well with Wii Bowling. I bet there are some sickos out there that are wondering if this controller is compatible with the microwave one.
Whatever the case…creepy.
No word yet on price or availability.

Remember just a year ago, when Wiis were almost impossible to find in stores and you could make a pretty fair chunk of cash by selling one of these hot little properties on eBay? Well, a year makes a pretty huge difference, and now, there’s a Wii in most every home that wants one. Of course, this has posed a whole new problem for Nintendo.
The company that could do no wrong just this time last year, is now facing–get this–a forty percent drop in quarterly revenues, and no immediate indication that things will get better.
Admittedly, there were only so many units they could ever sell, period–who really needs TWO Wiis?–but Nintendo exec Satoru Iwata thinks he’s got the answer: it’s all about the games. People are starting to realize that there aren’t a whole lot of good, high-demand games for their system. After all, you can only play so many Wario Ware titles before you start to lose the point.
But I’m with him on that one–the Wii needs more games. And not just big mini-game collections, either, but actual GAMES. They’ve got a great platform, if only they’d do something with it.

Not too long ago we posted on the expensive but cool TouchScreen Rubik’s Cube and today we have the Classic Nintendo version. Though I don’t recognize all of these icons, I’m sure there are fanboys out there that have these tattooed in special places.
Designed by deviantARTist r4r3truffle, this item is not for sale at this time. I have never been that great at puzzles and I definitely have never completed a Rubik’s Cube. I’m not so sure this version could get me interested.

Sometime early next month Netflix Streaming will arrive on the PS3. Now, word on rumor street is that the service is coming to the Nintendo Wii. Reports say that they’re in the testing phase, while other industry insiders say that Nintendo will wait until next year when they launch an HD version of their console, perhaps to offer the full potential of Netflix streaming.

According to CVG, Amazon UK has already slashed the price of the Black Nintendo Wii before it even hit their shelves on November 6th. The original price was £179.99 and now it’s being offered for £164.99 and bundled with a copy of Wii Sports Resort. Live in the US? Are you still jealous?

For those of you that subscribe to the NetFlix-esque video game rental service, the GameFly GameCenter app is now available for free in the App Store. More than just access to your queue, the GameFly GameCenter has a news feed, tons of user reviews, and instantly accessible “most popular” games list.
I’d go as far as to say that that even if you don’t belong to GameFly (it’s hard to get new releases but buying used games is the cheapest around), the app is still a cool alternative to the IGN app in terms of user reviews and news.

In what will continue to baffle me as to why certain regions get certain bundles, just announced is a new Wii bundle headed to Europe. Nintendo will be releasing an all black Wii bundle on November 6th in the UK and November 20th for other European territories.
The limited edition bundle will include all black matching Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and MotionPlus peripherals, and both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. In addition to this bundle Nintendo is releasing an all black classic controller pictured above.
No prices have been mentioned as of yet but Nintendo of America has said that they have no plans to bring this bundle stateside.
