If you watch porn than you’ve probably heard of the Fleshlight. It’s a lurid tool only to be used by those desperate for sensations but not affections of a female. In short order, it’s a masturbation tool for dudes and if you ask us, we find it a bit creepy. Without going into too much detail, the Fleshlight is the inverted version of a woman’s vibrator.

Now that we’ve gotten that explanation out of the way, checkout this concept case that someone came up with. It incorporates the Fleshlight into a case for the iPad such that you can now fully immerse yourself in POV porn. Sounds like an intervention waiting to happen, or at the very least a healthy dose of psychological treatment, provided of course you some day would like to seek the attention of a female.

Don’t hold your breath for this scooter come backpack. Why? Because it’s currently only in the design/concept phase. However, there is a good chance that it will become reality, since it does offer some utility in this chaotic, gotta be on time world.

The pics are pretty self explanatory. As you can see the backpack is integrated directly into the scooter. Or is the scooter integrated into the backpack? Either way, when you’re ready to board a train, plane or moving machine, you can just just fold it up and strap it to your back. Keep in mind you can also tote along all your goodies inside the bag, which has a few extra pockets as well as a fender, which should help to clear zombies (or people) out of the way as you cruise to your next destination.

Unfortunately, there is one flaw in the design. Once the board has been folded down, you know, the thing you stand on, you’ll have to manually attach the wheel. But on the a positive note, the wheels are big and bold, meaning you can cover a greater variety of terrain without all the discomfort associated with those rollerblade wheels.

This is Lexus’ latest concept vehicle, the LF-LC. Yup, it bears some resemblance to the LFA, a $375,000 vehicle that Lexus loses money on every time they build one. They’re currently mum on the LF-LC’s performance specs, amongst other things, but you can expect more details on this red beast to arrive on January 9th, when it will be officially unveiled at the Detroit Autoshow.

The front end boasts a massive grill that looks like it would swallow other super cars whole, for breakfast. However, word on the street is that it’s powered by a hybrid system, which hopefully equates to an electric and gas powered combo for fast pickup and a long range. While there is a back seat, at best you can probably stuff in a few small children or one adult laying perpendicular to the cars intended direction of travel.

Price? Unknown.

Roller skates died along time ago and Roller Blades, while still around and far more practical, are on life support. However, when both of these hit the proverbial scene they were massive. Kids and adults packed into roller skate rinks for birthday parties and Roller Blades, then a brand, was the next big wave since skateboarding. Fast forward to present day, and the chances of catching someone in a pair of skates of either type are just as likely as seeing good old Loch Ness. Okay, we’re exaggerating, but you catch our drift right? So needless to say the industry is ready for something new, right? How about the spnKiK.

Confusing naming conventions aside, these might be the next big thing since the Roller Blades. Scratch that. They might be the next big thing since the Segway, and at a price point of $649, they’re at the very least a gazzilion times cheaper. They don’t seem to boast the same centrifuge like tech found in the Segway, but they could serve up a dose of short distance practical transportation for any of you that live in an urban setting and can’t bear the idea of walking to work.

Each skate straps to your every day shoe and through the use of a hand mounted wireless remote control, you can administer their speed. All the hardware and electronics (battery, motor, etc) are integrated directly into the frame made of fiber reinforced nylon. The remote controls both feet at the same time and for those who have a steep learning curve they’ll include a set of removable training wheels. Max speed tops out at 10mph, which for those not in the know, is a very fast paced jog, if not run. Each battery should last up to 2-3 miles, though your distance will vary with speed and the grade of the terrain.

This spnKiK are a Kickstarter project, so they’re looking to you to throw down $375 if you want your own pair, which mind you is an Early Bird Special and a significant discount over the anticipated retail cost.

Wander into just about any kitchen and you’ll find the boring old, white coffee machine that has long been stained with an overactive burner – you know who you are. And that’s exactly why Peel UK needs to bring this sleek, yet simple coffee machine to market.

It won’t perform back flips, or even grind your coffee on the spot. What it will do, though, is provide your eyes with aesthetic bliss as you rise from the sheets and brew your first cup of joe in the morning. The base is crafted from rippled stainless steel that not only makes your coffee mug appear as if it’s giving off waves, but keeps the cup warm thanks to a built-in hot plate. In the meanwhile, a set of blue LED lights are designed to bathe the room in an easy to tolerate light for those that are more than foggy eyed in the morning, all the while playing complement to the overall design – they also let you know when the machine is in brewing mode. Lastly, it includes a 1.5l water reservoir, a steamer and settings for single or double strength.

No word on a launch date or price, but we’d expect it in 2012, if ever.

Had a flat tire recently? If so, you probably wished you had a set of these, Bridgestone’s puncture proof tires.

Unlike traditional tires, these use thermoplastic resin spokes that fire out from the inner hub to the outer rim at a 45 degree angle. If you look closely at the pattern you’ll see that the resin spans in both directions, creating a honey comb like weave and with it a tire that is supportive and supposedly as responsive as its rubber counterpart.

Ultimately, the tire uses no air, which means you can run over a myriad of objects without having to worry about tire damage and with it rim damage. That said, parking lots around the world would have to start installing gates as oppose to tire spikes. And police would have to find a new method for stopping criminals from fleeing since tire spikes would no longer be effective.

We’re hearing that the above model, which has or will be unveiled at the Tokyo auto show this week, measures just 9-inches in diameter. Unfortunately, there is no word on whether or not these will hit the consumer market any time soon.

We tend to stay away from concepts, but the Transparent Speaker from People People has us begging for more.

As they point out, one of the problems with today’s speakers is that they have to suit the rooms interior to fit in. At least that’s what you’re wife would say (sexist, yes, but work with us for the sake of example). With this speaker it could fit into almost any setting since the the casing is made from glass, or at least that’s the idea. So mount it on a brick wall and it will adorn a brick facade and so forth. It’s most certainly not for everyone as some people will prefer the warmth of wood over glass. But that’s not what makes this speaker system novel or a bit unusual.

They have plans to ship it with its very own rechargeable WiFi antenna that plugs into the headphone jack of any computer, smartphone or tablet. We’re not too crazy about the rechargeable aspect, but wireless music is always a big plus in our book, especially since it negats draping cords all over the place. However, you’ll still need to provide this speaker with power, so inevitably a cord will fall from its mounted location, unless of course you place it on an outlet.

When and if this speaker does ship, it won’t include the glass box. Say what!? Instead, you’ll be expected to head to your local crafts store, whatever that is, and obtain the box yourself, where upon you’ll assemble all the pieces yourself. Not our cup of tea, but to People People’s credit, this significantly cuts down on the size of the shipping materials as well as the carbon footprint on the Earth’s surface.

So will we ever see People People’s? Not yet, though they see it’s in development. If you wanna keep in touch with them you can email speaker[at]peoplepeople.se.

The Iguana 29 is a far shot from that <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2010/03/flying-hovercraft-for-realz-video.html"title="Flying Hovercraft, For Realz (video)" >flying hovercraft, but it does sport a similar versatility. Hidden in the hull of the boat are a pair of retractable caterpillar tracks that allow it to leaves the water and traverse some of the most challenging of terrain. Unfortunately, top speed caps out at about 5mph, which means you won’t be driving from your home to the water’s edge, unless of course you live a few hundred feet from said lake. However, it is capable of jetting through the ocean at up to 35 knots, which ain’t too shabby considering it is an amphibious vehicle.

Controlling the craft on land comes by way of a joystick system, where as we can only assume they’ve chosen a steering wheel when it is sitting in the drink. A joystick makes sense since the caterpillar tracks allow it to move much like a tank, enabling it to rotate and move in a small area. This makes it ideal for bodies of water that don’t have a beach you can drive up to and have a particularly rocking terrain.

No word on when you can buy the Iguana 29, but we’re hearing that it will cost about $280,000.

So the details are a bit skimp, but this universal remote, officially called the Bridge, might actually be the solution that anyone with an HTPC connected to their TV is looking for. They haven’t told us if it will work over Bluetooth, IR or RF but we do know that they have plans for it to support your computer, big screen TV and other components.

The three young designers have opted for a video game controller form factor, which is logical in today’s home theater environment since it is both ergonomic and plays to the familiarity of gamers. However, don’t expect the Bridge to be compatible with your Xbox 360 or PS3, at least in terms of gaming, though that would make for the ultimate universal remote.

As you can see, the Bridge remote is outfitted with a joystick surrounded by a variety of common media keys. To the right of that is a full QWERTY keyboard, ideal for surfing the web or punching in a Hulu video. They haven’t specifically told us what all the shoulder buttons do, but we’re gonna assume that they can be mapped to any function of your liking or perhaps perform a set of macros. Lastly, a set of keys line the top of the Bridge, allowing you to access your TV’s menu, power on/off your devices and more.

Right now they’re looking to raise $59,000 via <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/tag/kickstarter"title="Kickstarter" >Kickstarter. Unfortunately, they might have a hard time raising that kind of money, unless of course they get more specific about the details of their product, such as supported wireless protocols, battery life and accompanying software to program the remote. Without that kind of information it’s a massive leap of faith in a product that most certainly sounds good in theory, but we’ve seen too many universal remotes come and go. Nevertheless, if you’re still interested you can pledge as little as $65 and you’ll receive one once they begin to ship.

Strap a yoga ball to 16 horizontally rotating propellers and apparently you can claim a world’s first. German aircraft company E-Volo slapped together something they’re calling a Multicopter and recently they achieved the first manned flight that lasted about 90 seconds.

If the prototype looks familiar, that’s probably because you’ve seen a variety of quadricopter in the last few years, the most notable being Parrot’s A.R. Drone. However, up until this point all them have been too small to lift a person off the ground.

The Multicopter is controlled using a wireless remote and apparently will float, much in the same fashion as Parrot’s quadricopter, without any human input, though it’s not clear if E-Volo has incorporated a variety of sensors unlike the A.R. Drone. However, there are a set of onboard computers that calculate the rotational speed of the propellers and thus control altitude and the direction of travel.

This version of the multicopter is powered purely on battery juice, but the company says that they might develop a gas and electric hybrid version which would increase flight times from 10-30 minutes to perhaps an hour.

We’re really not sure what we would do with a multicopter. In fact, it reminds us of the Segway – cool tech but not really practical in any application. Then again, the military could surely use somethings like this to perform recon, though it might be a bit too large and manned flight is slowly being eliminated from their strategy.

Got more than 2 devices that need plugging into the wall and you’ll need a power strip. But how unsightly and perhaps even dangerous if you’ve got kids dashing through the house.

The Node 12050 Electric Outlet eliminates the need for a power strip, though it will occupy much more wall space. However, given it’s minimalist lines it should blend into almost any setting, provided your house wasn’t built in the 17th or 18th century.

Currently the Node is in the conceptual phase, though the designer, Metaphys, does sell actual products. So keep an eye out, because if it was up to us, these would’ve gone on sale at Home Depot yesterday.

Volkswagen showed off its new 2013 E-Up! at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. It’s a city car that sports that will first be made in gasoline form, but will soon include an electric drivetrain by 2012. VW is calling it a “giant among small cars,” as it measures 39.4 inches long and 64.6 inches wide, making it a bit narrower than a Mini Cooper hardtop. Although it’s tiny, the interior will comfortably fit four passengers and still have room for cargo space (you get even more if you fold the rear seats up!).

Under the hood is an electric motor that supplies the propulsive power for the concept car. Propelling it to a top speed of 184 mph, the electric engine produces a continuous output of 54 hp with a peak of 80 hp. The nearly silent electric motors also develops a maximum torque of 155 lb.-ft. of torque. Drivers can activate the forward or reverse gear by a pushbutton that’s stored on the center console of the vehicle’s interior.

As for the battery capacity, it’s said to be 18 kilowatt-hours (kWh), which allows for about 80 miles of driving between charging (all depending on how you drive though). The batteries are located in the underbody of the vehicle, while all other key driving components are located in the front engine compartment.

As for its styling cues, the E-Up! features a very distinctive design at its front end, which is its arc-shaped layout of the LED daytime running lights in the bumper. It also has an upper engine cooling air slot that’s between the headlights and the VW logo, which is covered by a chrome trim strip due to narrow air intake slots above and below the license plate serve to cool the drive system of the car.

Who would have thought a 23-year-old could build an electric sports car with enough power to rival that of a Bugatti Veyron? Turns out Croatian designer Mate Rimac has built exactly this with his Concept One electric sports car.

The 23-year-old entrepreneur and automotive designer has caused quite a stir at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Concept One is the first car from Rimac Automobili, which before now was virtually unknown. According to their site, “Rimac factory is a place where magic happens since 2009. When you love what you do, you don’t work, you play and thus create art.” (A bit choppy, but direct from their site.)

Apparently, Rimac states that their electric will push out 1,088 hp with 2,802 lb.-ft. of torque and can go more than 186 mph, which are pretty remarkable feats for a car that is powered by an internal combustion, let alone an electric propulsion system. While these numbers haven’t been tested out in the open, Rimac did mention that the car’s numbers were tested on a closed course with a prototype. Nothing concrete, but still promising. Four electric motors are supposed to propel the supercar from 0 to 62 mph in only 2.8 seconds. The front and rear systems of the motors are separate units, with each of them including two high-speed, liquid-cooled permanent magnet electric motors, wo liquid-cooled inverter units and two reduction gearboxes, integrated into one small unit.

With that said, the Concept One’s charge range is said to be 366 miles from a 92 kWH battery, which beats the 300-mile range that Tesla says its Model S sedan will be able to achieve.Design wise, the Concept One features a carbon-fiber body that sits on top of an aluminum frame, with a total weight that is allegedly 3,630 pounds.

Rimac actually used a BMW E30 that was converted to run on some of the same electric propulsion technologies in the Concept One to compete in the 800-kilometer “e-miglia” race in the Italian Alps, which is a race for electric cars. Rimac plans to build 88 units in the first run, with price a smidge below that of the competition from Pagani, Koenigsegg and Bugatti. No word yet on when these units will be produced though. While many would like to see all these impressive numbers in action, they’ll just have to be satisfied with all the hype.

Despite our economy falling to pieces, people still attend bars and clubs in droves. The most expensive item? Booze. The margins on a bottle of alcohol are up to 90%, which means that the club owners are getting rich, provided of course they can keep the traffic flowing. And whilte they’re getting rich you’re trying to drink your sorrows away. Which is ironic since the very reason you’re depressed is because you don’t have enough cash to go around – it’s a vicious cycle. Unless of course you take control and bring a flask with you to the bar. A bit tacky, but in a time of economic despair you gotta do what you gotta do to.

However, there is a problem? Sneaking booze into a bar will get you kicked out. Unless you have one of these Phone Flasks. They’re far more practical than the Wine Rack or Beer Belly since it can slip into your pocket. Each one holds up to 8oz of liquid and since they’re disguised as an iPhone 4 security will be none the wiser.

Fittingly, the lock button slides back and opens the would be headphone jack, which is in fact the flask’s opening.

Unfortunately, the Phone Flask is a concept only and couldn’t receive enough funding to become a reality. We think it’s a great idea, so perhaps they should try their idea with the Kickstarter.com community.

It’s odd. We tend to through the old out to make way for the new. But then the new gets old and we find ourselves wandering back to where we started. While this can often be said in terms of relationship, the same can be stated for clothing and sometimes, sometimes technology.

The Retro CRT iPad Dock designed by Jonas Damon, resembles an 80s – heck it could even be early 90s – TV set. It’s pretty representative of the above statement. It’s made from wood, which surely adds some warmth to the all metal and glass iPad. And it’s even replete with that protruding, elongated back that housed the tube, which pretty much made TV possible before LED, LCDs and Plasmas came along.

As it happens, we’ve actually featured Damon’s work before. If you recall, which you probably don’t, we posted on his <a href="http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/05/iphone-wooden-bedside-alarm-clock.html"title="Jonas Damon Wooden iPhone Alarm Clock" target="_blank">Wooden Alarm Clock that simply holds your iPhone in landscape mode. But despite it’s simplicity, and lacking all things tech, we still loved it. And yes, we love this.

The LED Door Handle might only be a concept, but it’s just so damn brilliant we can’t see why it wouldn’t go into production. But before we get into the details, lets consider the following scenario.

Your power goes out. The room is pitch black and you can’t see more than an inch in front of your face. You know you’ve got a flash light stored in the junk drawer, but navigating your way to it and not stabbing yourself in the hand with a rusty nail is slim at best. Ask most people and they’ll probably have no problem finding their way to a door since they can depend on the walls to guide them, not to mention it’s a much larger object than a puny, under powered flashlight. And that’s why the LED Door Handle makes that much sense.

But that’s not the only reason we’re all giddy about this concept. A built-in light sensor can detect when to turn on the night light (the ring around the handle) and detaching the handle from the base converts it automatically into an LED flashlight. But wait, it gets better. The very action of opening and closing the door -turning the handle – charges the the integrated battery, though we’re a bit skeptical to how effective it could be. Nonetheless, this is a sick idea that needs to come to fruition and adding it to any home will look rad as all get up.

The LEDoorHandle is a 2011 Spark Awards Winner. It’s designed by Kun-hee Kim, Kei Shimizu & Nguyen-vu Dang.

BMW has officially entered the electric car sphere with their new i Series concept vehicles. Created entirely from scratch and opting not to use any of their current models as a base, the German auto manufacturer has recently released details […]

BMW has officially entered the electric car sphere with their new i Series concept vehicles. Created entirely from scratch and opting not to use any of their current models as a base, the German auto manufacturer has recently released details on its new i3 hatchback and i8 hybrid plug-in coupe. Both feature some very futuristic design cues that would fit perfectly in any Sci-Fi flick and follow BMW’s EfficientDynamics approach, which emphasizes “less emissions, more driving pleasure.”

Because they didn’t just want to switch out a gas engine for an electric one, BMW created both cars with its innovative LiveDrive architecture, which puts the electric motor and the battery at the heart of the design. Both also use the LifeDrive design to achieve lightweight vehicles.

The i3 features a 125 KW electric motor and was previously known as “the MegaCity Vehicle.” The electric motor is placed over the rear axle and pushes out 170 horses with 184 lb.-ft. of torque. With a driving range of about 80 miles, the i3 is said to produce a 0-60 mph time in less than eight seconds, which is pretty much the same as other electric vehicles that are currently on the market. Created as a pure EV, BMW has also released information on their new range extender option, the REx, which is a smaller engine that will charge the car’s electric battery to help it get more than 80 miles per charge. Although it looks small, don’t let it fool you; this EV comfortably sits four and has a top speed of 93 mph so it has some kick in it!

While the i3 is more of an urban dweller compact car, the i8 combines the performances of a sports car with that of a green vehicle. As a plug-in hybrid performance vehicle established on BMW’s Vision Efficient Dynamics model, it can go up to 20 miles on electricity (thanks to its electric motor that runs the front wheels) alone before its high performance 3-liter, 220-hp engine (that powers the rear wheels for all-wheel drive possibilities) has to kick in. It can sprint from 0-62 mph in under five seconds and features a 50/50 weight distribution, resulting in a well-balanced package!

Still only concept, BMW didn’t provide any additional information regarding production of either vehicles, but you just never know…we might see something similar popping up in the next couple of years!

Head off into the wilderness for a weekend retreat and you’ll probably be packing relatively light. If your destination includes a body of water chances are there will be a canoe on the back or roof of your car. But that’s hardly practical, especially if you can’t drive to the body of water.

Enter the Adhoc canoe. It weighs just 4.1kg (about 9lbs) and folds up to fit inside an average sized backpack. The frame is made from carbon fiber, which means that it is both strong and lightweight, while the skin it’s crafted from Aramid, the material used in body armor and racing sails. According to its designer, Tsor Design’s Ori Levin, the Adhoc Canoe can be assembled in as little as 5 minutes.

No word on when it will go into production, but we can only hope it doesn’t cost much more than your average canoe. However, since the design calls for carbon fiber and a synthetic material that probably ain’t cheap, we’re assuming it will be expensive, at least to the average consumer.

Napping at your desk or on a plane presents a myriad of challenges. While the OSTRICH won’t make your seat any more comfortable it provides the much needed solidarity to catch a few zzzzs in that always uncomfortable position. The conceptual design provides a pillow for your head, pockets for your hands and a cave like interior to cut off sound and light. It might just be the next Snuggy.
