The Acer Nitro XV340CK made reviewers very happy with its high color accuracy and impressive ergonomics; attributes it also shares with the Acer Nitro XV272U. However, they felt that its narrow viewing angles, average contrast ratio, and mediocre brightness levels were quite disappointing.

Product Snapshot

Overview

The Acer Nitro XV340CK is a mid-tier computer monitor that was first announced in 2020. Like most top-rated computer monitors, the Acer Nitro XV340CK is ideal for gaming thanks to a 10.64ms response time, and even though this doesn’t really come close to what the best gaming monitors have to offer, it still happens to be slightly faster than the AOC CU34G2x’s 13.8ms. The monitor offers a decent 144Hz refresh rate and a 34-inch ultrawide screen with a 1440p resolution, and this is pretty common even with other options in its category. Also, as one of the best ultrawide monitors in the market, its color accuracy is relatively high, and its adjustments are easy to make because of superb ergonomics.

Consensus

our Verdict

Product testers have praised the Acer Nitro XV340CK as an excellent pick for all-around use. Experts from We PC were quite impressed with its rapid 10.6ms response time, as they observed during their tests that there were no instances of motion trail during fast action scenes. As they conducted their experiments, they also confirmed that the monitor was easy to adjust (similar to the AOC 24G2) and noted that it handled reflections quite well thanks to its matte screen finish. They were also pretty satisfied with its 144Hz refresh rate since they didn’t come across any instances of screen tearing during their tests. The XV340CK was also hailed by reviewers from Rtings for its dual HDMI 2.0 ports and high color accuracy thanks to a Delta E score of 0.52 after calibration. With these results, they deemed it fit for users involved in color-critical work.

Unfortunately, the XV340CK was found to be lacking as far as viewing angles were concerned, as reviewers agreed that they were quite narrow. They were also not satisfied with its HDR brightness level of 234 nits, and an average contrast ratio of 1048:1.

Reason to Buy

  • High color accuracy
  • Great reflection handling
  • Impressive ergonomics
  • Rapid response time

Reason to Avoid

  • Poor viewing angles
  • Low brightness levels

Despite having a larger 34-inch screen, the Acer Nitro XV340CK is no match for the Acer Predator X25’s 360Hz refresh rate. This high refresh rate makes the X25 more ideal for gaming, however, the XV340CK still holds its own with superb ergonomics and impressive reflection handling.

The Acer Nitro XV340XCK has a slight edge over the LG 34GN850-B because of its better ergonomics and superior reflection handling. On the flip side, the 34GN850-B offers a higher refresh rate and also gets brighter than the Acer monitor.

While they both have the same 1440p screen resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, there are a lot of things that set the Acer Nitro XV340CK and the Gigabyte G34WQC apart. The Acer monitor offers better gradient handling and wider viewing angles, while the Gigabyte monitor has a higher contrast ratio of 3134:1, and a wider color gamut thanks to an 88% coverage of the SCI-P3 color scale compared to the Acer’s low 39.9% coverage.

The Acer Nitro XV340CK does not have that many differences from the Acer Nitro XZ342CK. They both have the same 144Hz refresh rate, wide viewing angles, and a 1440p screen resolution. What sets them apart is that the XV342CK has a curved screen and a slightly higher brightness level of 400 nits compared to the XV340CK’s 234 nits.
