In today’s digital age, life keeps on getting more convenient with each new device that’s made. Thanks to smart and connected home gadgets, you can control everything in your house via your smartphone. Now Schlage wants to eliminate your need for keys with its Sense Bluetooth-enabled lock.
No More Keys
The Sense keypad eliminates the hassle of fumbling around in your bag or purse to find your keys and allows you to easily enter your custom code to enter your home. All you have to do is create a custom code to enter your home and enter it on its illuminated touchscreen. And if you a member of your family prefers keys over a digital code, the lock still utilizes a traditional lock with keys.
Unlock Your Door With Your Phone
Besides using its touchscreen, you can also unlock your home’s door using your smartphone and the Schlage Sense app, which allows your phone to act as the key using Bluetooth smart technology. Thanks to the app, the system can manage and schedule up to 30 codes at the same time, with users creating and deleting access codes as they want. But they can also check on lock status and view activity, as well as update settings and check battery life without having them connect to an existing home automation system or paying for a monthly subscription.
Talk to Unlock
Users can use the app to “talk to unlock,” using your iPhone’s Siri capabilities. It’s designed to work with iOS 8 and is easy to set up and program thanks to its dedicated app.
The Sense will also future its own Built-in-Alarm Technology that will send out alerts whenever it senses potential door attacks and features the highest rating of security certified by the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association.
The lock will come in two style – either the Century or Camelot versions -and come in several different finishes like Satin Nickel, Matte black and Aged Bronze, so that home owners can choose the right one that matches their home’s exterior looks. The Sense will be available later this year, in addition to the company’s new Schlage Touch and Schlage Connect smart locks.
