If you’re a smoker, or spend time with a smoker, you have known the pain of a lost lighter. Fortunately, this being the twenty-first century, there’s a solution to that. And no, it’s not a vaporizer, it’s installing a lighter in an iPhone case.
The SuperNova, as it’s called, is actually a fairly simple design. First of all, it’s your basic iPhone case: Covers the phone, protects it somewhat against impact. It’s not one of those cases where you can throw your phone out of a plane, but hey, it’s a case, and that’s better than going around uncased. But the real appeal is on the back, next to the lens.
Essentially, you plug the case into USB, charge it up, and then, whenever you need it, there’s an electric lighter right there for your cigarettes. Admittedly, it’s annoying that the case doesn’t just charge off your iPhone, but we suppose you can’t have everything. The company promotes it as a lighter you’ll never lose, will never be stolen by friends, will never run out of butane, and so on and so forth, but come on. It’s an iPhone case that lets you start fires. OK, they’re small fires, but still, fires. The inner pyromaniac that hides inside every nerd is giddy at this small spark.
Light It Up
Needless to say, this is a very specific product. Not many people lose lighters so often that they need to keep one attached to their phone. But for the smokers among us, who occasionally enjoy stepping outside and getting a hit of nicotine, stripping out the need to keep a lighter handy for those times where you prefer holding a burning object in your hand while standing in inclement weather to dealing with your coworkers. So there is that, at least.
