If you’ve ever flown First Class, then you probably already know what a luxurious experience it is. Heck, even flying Business Class is pretty darn good. But Etihad Airways is looking to redefine the way you think of luxury travel with its new “Residence” First Class suite.
It goes above and beyond anything you’ve ever imagined! According to James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ President and CEO, the new suite will be available on their A380 and B787 and will “deliver the most advanced airline cabins in the industry, while meeting all weight, range and cost targets.”
Like many things in the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways new suites will feature pure luxury amenities. But there is a cost: $20,000 per ticket to fly in the “The Residence” from Abu Dhabi to London. Hogan predicts that large families and dignitaries will book “The Residence”. The space will feature a private bathroom, bedroom, lobby area and more. It will be flown from Abu Dhabi to Sydney and Melbourne, via London, with each A380 having one Residence on board.
The rest of the First Class seats will then be called “Apartments” and their still pretty spacious. Their Business Class are now their “Studio” seats, with passengers receiving noise canceling headphones to use with their touchscreen menus that allows them to select from a wide variety of on-demand entertainment and gaming, while a chilled mini bar is only at arm’s reach.
