wood alarm clock

The alarm clock is an unfortunate, but necessary, addition to our lives, especially if we want to get to work on time. Fortunately, though, if we have to put up with an alarm clock, we can at least get one that’s a little more stylish than the usual plastic.

Wooden Time For Your Morning

Specifically, this alarm clock is designed to give the illusion that it’s a solid block of wood sitting on your nightstand. True, that may raise an eyebrow or two since not many of us just leave painted blocks of wood lying around, but its true purpose will quickly become clear once they get a look at the LEDs cleverly hidden on one face.

Good Wood To Have

The clock is actually a bit more than just a gimmick. It can tell the time, of course, but it also has tools to let you know the temperature and give you a sense of just what you’ll be facing when you drag your carcass out of bed to shower and eat breakfast. Another useful feature is that how the clock lights up can be set one of two ways; it can light up when you touch it, or it can be set to brighten whenever it detects noise.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the wood veneer doesn’t go all the way around; you’ll find this has a cheap plastic back, with both controls for setting the time and a battery panel in case you want to use the four AAA batteries this can run on instead of the DC power that will cost you a lot less. Still, it’s a more attractive alternative to the cheap alarm clocks you’ll find at Target. If you’d like a little more wood in your morning, this clock can be had for just $30.
