Technology has changed the way we live and it’s even changed the way we think of gardening! Thanks to new devices, you don’t even need to physically take care of plants since since there are devices that’ll do it for you like some Modern Sprout planters. The windowsill planter boxes are simple to use, self-sustaining and pretty stylish. Thanks to its hidden hydroponic system, the planter will automatically water and feed your plants for you…all you have to do is place it near some sun.
The system works by delivering a nutrient solution of water and organic fertilizer to the roots of the plants in the planter. There’s also a secret side panel that proves access to a pre-programmed timer and three way valve, with the timer triggering the air pun to push out water though a feeding tube from the reservoir to the plants. The planters are designed for interior use and are small enough for a petite window for apartments with not much room, but also large enough to grow three plants. The planter comes in four finishes – high gloss white on pine, chalkboard on pine, weathered grey on knotty pine and reclaimed wood – and measures 16” x 5 ½” x 10 ¼”. It works great for herbs like basil, rosemary, cilantro, mint, tarragon; produce such as e.g. strawberries, cherry tomatoes, peppers, kale, spinach; and flowers like orchids, lavender, anthurium. The planters range in price from $129 to $159, depending on the finish you want.
