Today Namco Bandai finally announced the April 25th Dark Souls II PC release date. Immediately within hours of the announcement, several digital game retailers starts listing the title for sale on their store front (naturally embargo was lifted). One of the first to post was the UK based digital retailer, Green Man Gaming. What’s significant about their posting, is that you can use a coupon code on their site to slash the price
20% Update: 25%.
Dark Souls II is $37.50 after coupon J4XXU2-JTFTLL-8ENDXZ at Green Man Gaming. If you’re planning to grab this game, you might want to act fast to take advantage of this deal because the coupon code is set to expire tomorrow Monday 3/10 at 11AM Eastern. The GMG deal is currently the best price for North America.
If you’re in Europe there’s an even more enticing pre-order offer at
G2A for €22,99 (Update: Deal has Expired) – a full 54% off (if my math checks out) and by far the best discount around. You could also buy from GMG for the Europe version, but the coupon will only drop the price from €49,99 to €40, so for now G2A is still the better option.
The PC version of Dark Souls II will activate on Steam. Interesting tidbit to note: thus far we don’t see a BOXED PC version listed anywhere (Amazon, GameStop, etc) so for this release, Bandai might be going full digital PC distribution only. Take an extra note if you’re looking for the pre-order bonus offers of early access weapons and shields. GMG’s offer clearly list the pre-order digital bonuses, whereas G2A makes nada mention of it. Safe to assume G2A key may not include any pre-order bonus.
