HTC has sent out press invites to the media personnel for its press event that will take place on March 25th in New York City, where the company is expected to unveil its latest flagship device. HTC promises the smartphone that will see the light of the day at the event will be its “primary flagship for 2014.” Like past HTC events, there will be simultaneous in London and New York.
HTC is expected to reveal the successor of the HTC One at the event codenamed HTC M8. There’s no official word about the handset from the Taiwanese OEM, but we’ve seen countless number of leaks detailing what we can expect from the flagship device from HTC.
The handset is rumored to look “strikingly similar” to the current HTC One, but with improved hardware and the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 6.0 UI on top of it. HTC is also rumored to ditch the physical buttons in favor of the on-screen buttons that can be found on other Android devices. However, the most unique feature, based on rumors, we’ve come across is the presence of dual-cameras, which lets users take better images in different lighting conditions.
All of these are just rumors, and nothing is official until it comes from HTC. Now, the big question is: can the device help HTC increase their declining market share in the competitive smartphone industry? We’ll find out soon enough. Mark your calendars for March 25th, we’ll also update you as soon as it becomes official.
