Despite Sony’s QX10 and QX100 lens cameras can attach to most smartphones on their now, but they favored their own Xperia Z and Z2 handsets by developing custom cases for the devices and they’re doing the same for their 6.4-inch Xperia Z Ultra. They’re releasing a new attachment cover in either black or white that will attach either camera to its phablet for around $30, which will be in addition to the price of the QX10 ($249) and QX100 ($499). The lens cameras can boost the smartphone’s camera to either an 18.2- or 20.2-megapixel machine, with the latter featuring the same sensor as Sony’s RX100 Mark II. Right now it’ll only be available in Hong Kong and Sony has revealed any plans on its availability elsewhere, but it’ll most likely hit the States pretty soon.
